I really liked the art and esoteric vibe it has, 5 stars for me. The gameplay is a bit simple, but it fits the theme well. Good job!

I think the art style is well-done. I was so happy when the roulette space I picked won. Nice work!

Submitted

great visuals! But I was a bit lost gameplay wise

Developer

Thanks! Did you read the bio on the itch page or the in-game guide?

It's really as simple as matching the symbols at the top of the screen to symbols on the wheel.

the art is incredible..... literally gorgeous !!!!

Developer

Thank you! My fiancé is so thrilled that people are liking the style, she did a fantastic job!

Great take on Roulette!  I thoroughly enjoyed taking up my proper mantle as overlord of the underworld!  The visuals are gorgeous!  Your partner did an amazing job with the pixel art!

Developer(+1)

Thanks you so much. :D I know right, it's stunningly gorgeous!

Hope that luck was with you!

WOAHHHHHH!!!!!!! Thats so cool, thanks and cant wait!

Amazing! The art and sound design are highlights and fit the game mechanics perfectly 👌

Submitted(+1)

The visuals and the sound design work together very nicely making this an experience that is greater than the sum of it’s parts. That’s difficult to do, so well done.

Submitted(+1)

This has a really nice atmosphere to it! the visuals feel perfect and the mechanics are deep and well thought, i also really like the audio incorporation as it syncs well with the actions ;)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I tried really hard to make the audio feel punchy! I dabbled with sounds on Chiptone for so long, definitely try it if you haven't for game sounds!

Submitted

Yes my review was based on my in-game experience :)

Developer(+1)

Yes, haha! I meant to try out Chiptone if you need to make audio for games. :)Thanks!

I really enjoyed the game. The color palette was limited, but the visuals were really distinguishable. One thing I learned is that I'm a real bad better haha, most of the times I ended up not getting the right answer.

Overall, awesome submission, the sfx, art, theme, all perfectly matched the style. The upgrade were also a very nice touch for progression.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I have learned that through this jam too that I should stay far away from a real casino! :D

Submitted(+1)

Fun game! I love a good roguelike and the progression was pretty good! The retro art and sound effects were also done very well, I'm a sucker for that aesthetic and you nailed it! I  do with the wheel spun a little faster, or if there was an option to speed it up.

I do have a balance question: When a soul is freed you lose 1  point. There's the consumable   that let's you  send a soul to hell instead, but that also costs 1 point.    Now I never used it so I could be misunderstanding something, but isn't that redundant?  Because either way you're losing 1 point, either losing a point to a soul ascending or on buying the consumable.

Either way, great game overall! Keep up the good work.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback!

For the consumable, normally you would get -1 SC, but if they get sent to hell you get +1 SC, so by spending the 1 SC to buy it, it makes you break even instead of lose money. There's also a unique animation which was one of my favourites! :D
