Very interesting concept, it's like globe golf.

God I wish so much that spinning gave the player more control and feedback on the direction and speed. It's really enjoyable to hit the correct country in one go, but I found it difficult and finicky to use, which undermined how much fun I could have. There's also an element of RNG luck that's needed to get a high score, with both in your next target being close to where you are and with how large the target is (e.g. hitting India is infinitely easier than hitting Bhutan), maybe a greater hitbox for small targets would be nice to give the player allowance. This could be so so fun (at least coming in with geography knowledge, I'd imagine this might be impossible for players who don't know where Tajikistan is, maybe a hot/cold or distance metric would be nice too), I just really wished the player had more agency (or given information to learn how to control better) over the spinning. Got a high score of 7268500

Thanks for playing, and for the thorough and constructive feedback. I can’t disagree with any of it - especially the lack of feedback on control and the fiddliness of short jumps. That and having some highlight for the target country were both things I’d like to have worked on more but couldn’t fit into the time I was able to find around family and work.

Congrats on the score! Comfortably top of the leaderboard.

hey, so about your record ;)

lmfao i knew this was gonna happen, i noticed the hundred <7000000 attempts creeping towards my score earlier ago

i concede, now you are the champion of serious and precise international navigation!

Thank you :D

I'm unironically playing this in my free time, i think i will go for the ace lol

I really like the music. I wish it looped while you were playing the game though. Overall, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! About the music: honestly, it was supposed to loop and I just never got around to figuring out why it doesn’t.

Interesting idea for a game; testing geography knowledge with game show spin.  It feels like it needed some indication of force and direction when you are spinning the globe might help a bit.

I personally loved this one, i love geography. The movement was a bit sensitive tho. Welcome me on the leaderboards :D

Remind me if my score ever gets beaten! 6147000

Developer(+1)

oh wow, over 6 million is very impressive! Nice job

Developer(+1)

You wanted me to remind you it someone beat your score - somebody’s just flown past it by a full million points!

Let's get back to work then

okay i gave up, i got so close tho

Submitted(+1)

Okay i managed :)

Developer(+1)

Just saw this now - over 8 million! That is some extremely serious and precise international navigation. Congrats!

Liked this one. Very creative idea and I got to test my geography knowledge.

Couple of suggestions, maybe have a arrow indicator to show how much force you are applying to the ship. As some countries are really small, it would be good to maybe color the country a different color, or to say how far you are currently off, or something to give the player a little assistance. On hardcore mode, all these can be turned off. Maybe flying over a pickup could to give an extra spin on the current country might be good. Depends on the direction you want to take the game. Overall, good game.

really interesting to play as I learned some countries, but really difficult to get the spin right, too fast

Really interesting take on the theme! It's like geoguesser but with the spinning mechanic to master as well. Well done! It's quite fun.

This is a cool take on a geo guessing sort of game!

It'd be nice if there was a way to halt the spin with another click, as the spin feels a little drifty so it's difficult to land on the target.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the constructive feedback! That’s actually pretty similar to one of the ideas I had on my list if I’d had a little more time - I wanted to add ‘boost’/‘brake’ buttons with a limited number of uses per run, to give some opportunity to fix those spins where you get the direction right but not the speed.

It's a geography quiz and spin to win game all in one, actually serious as heck. I would like an easy mode where the countries are highlighted because I have no clue where Mozambique or Somaliland are.  This would actually make a really neat learning tool as well

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing, and the feedback! I actually wanted to add exactly that but I’m new to Godot and ran out of time to figure it out.
