Cool idea! I'd have liked some background music, and maybe some more elements, like perhaps spinning faster would push the other balls further, and to have some reason to even spin in a different direction, since currently spinning doesn't really impact much, just decides whether or not I am allowed to move. And anyway, the best strategy is to not even push the enemy balls to begin with, as standing in a corner lets you net lots of kills easily, since all the spawns are pretty far from the corners, you can wait there and the other balls start speeding up towards, and you can just dodge them and they will be unable to stop due to momentum and just fly off on their own. This can be mitigated by giving the player some kind of incentive to be inside of arena, like for example power ups!
It's a simple and funny little game, I would have liked some music to accompany me, but I got the gear.
Fun Game. In the beginning i didn't quite know how to spin correctly, but that was probably my fault. Anyway, once i got used to it, it was good.
I love how fast I can spin, I can't stop thinking of billiards and beyblades. I'd love to play with more added to the game! It takes a little while for the game to get going but once you've got all them rogue balls coming at your the brain really starts to keep the focus. It was somehwat difficult to tell me I was moving in a particular direction from an enemy hit as well. But that was usually solved with SPINNING FOREVER
Welp, I found a winning strategy. Staying in a corner, waiting for the other to throw themselves at you, then avoiding them so that they fall out on their own.
The concept is effective. But I’m not sure what the spinning does? At first I thought it was the only way of moving (I didn’t read the description and was only using arrow keys :p), but then I figured out I could also move around without spinning, and the inertia felt the same. Also the close camera makes understanding the space around us difficult. I didn’t immediately realize I was moving in a 2D space, I thought for a while that there were some walls coming at me. x) But once evrything was understood, playing with the physics is pretty fun, and there are actually a lot of ways to trick other players kick them out of the arena. Nice job!
Good job finding that cheese! I knew about it but couldn’t figure out how to fix it in the two days I made this game (I switched projects last minute because I couldn’t make any progress).
Enemies react to your spinning, so you can use it to fly them off in a certain direction. I personally enjoy bouncing off of them with a spin.
As others have suggested, a lot of perspective issues could be solved by adding some texture to the pool table. I’ll definitely fix these issues up if I choose to keep working on the project, but I’m not sure if I will.
Neat concept, but I struggled to get the other balls knocked off without rolling myself off.
If you keep tinkering with it, it would have helped me to start on a smaller board so I could get a better feel for how quickly I was moving and turning. Or even just some more texture on the current board so it would be easier to judge my speed, especially as I approach the edges. I ended up just trying to play at the corners since that was the easiest place for me to "read" the table and movements.
Enjoyed my time playing!
Nearly falling off and having the spin save me is very satisfying.
Visuals were simple but effective!
I appreciate the sound effects added, although the collisions sound effects didn't seem to always line up.
Nicely done!
The beyblade battle works out cause the spin mechanic can be used to save yourself from falling off. But sometimes it gives a sudden burst of speed causing you to fall off.
some balls were particularly tough to kick off because they were spinning.
Enjoyable game even though im kinda bad at it :P
Kept trying it a little bit and managed to get a better score :D Difficulty definitely scales up a bit. Its fun how the balls form a bigger threat together and kind of drive you into the corner. Glad i gave it another go. One thing i would suggest is adding a little bit of texture to the floor so you can better tell your own speed.
I was a little confused at the start, originally trying to find the pockets to fall into, but figured it out pretty quickly after falling off. Cute little game! Not sure how you got away with painting on a bowling ball, but all I know is, I'll never play billiards against you. XD
Metagame cog 16/125 (but I think you need to check if your function is right, I don't seem to have gotten the achievement D:)
EDIT: This bug was indeed fixed, woo!
There is some kind of satisfaction when you see how the small balls are aligned to try to kick you out hahah Nice idea, would add some roguelite elements here, some other obstacles, and you have a pretty nice game idea, actually! Well done!
