I wish you the best on the personal life stuff, but congrats on the new job! I totally think the game is release ready as is, so I wouldn’t fret too much over where you left it. It’s a solid polished game, and it feels at home on itch.

Hey, just want to say that I finally got to play the game (with working full screen), and I still believe it’s a great spin on the classic formula. Super addictive and fun, will definitely continue to play.

It's a godot game...

1CC LET'S GOOOO!

hey, I’m not a huge shmup player but I managed to beat this game on my phone after a few months. I seriously love your game, even compared to other pico 8 shoot em ups I’ve completed, so I’ve decided to buy the downloadable to support you. Thank you for making such a fun game!

I think that you want this to be a game it isn't. It's meant to emulate old school nes games and challenging difficulty that is also satisfying, fun, and rewarding. I find it so satisfying shooting down hordes of enemies, losing weapon upgrades creates more tension which I personally enjoy, there IS an auto fire option  (just hold down the button), and the swarms of enemies are totally manageable with practice.

However, I agree that it's a bit too punishing. I will die on the hill that lives systems are not outdated and are good game design, but I think that they need to be done correctly. I find losing a life and then having to retread through the entire level really tedious. In my experience, the lives system doesn't really do much if you have to replay the level anyway. I've identified two courses of action here: if OP wants to keep the lives system as a way of offering a second chance, I'd add some checkpoints as you suggested so that they are valuable. On the other hand, if the player starting the level over is intentional design on the dev's part, I would actually remove the lives altogether and just have the game end on death.

I personally really love this game. I find it SO fun to try and keep my max weapon upgrade and plow through enemies without getting hit, and I love the frantic running away when I do get hit and lose those upgrades. I may disagree with you but really my problem is just that you gave all criticism in a condescending way without any positives or compliments. That isn't constructive criticism, it's just bullying.

It worked, thank you! Do you have any idea why the game wasn't loading? That's really weird.

Here's the error I got.

Here's the code the error applies to (X on the failed line):

Hope I could help!

I'm on chrome, and the game still isn't running. Thank you for troubleshooting!

Hey, I played your game during the rating period, and absolutely loved it. I saw that you updated the game, and am really excited to check out. However, when I try to load the game right now, it throws an error (image attached). Please let me know when you fix this, as I'd love to play more Tetracore.

Very fun, this was my final score:

I think the smaller levels would probably be better, as it gives clear defined moments where you can pause the game and come back later. Up to you though!

Holy crap this is amazing! I clocked the Siactro inspiration immediately, which is not a bad thing at all because I absolutely love their games. Great job!

This is very very fun, polished, and a good use of the theme! If you'll let me nitpick, the game's speed appears to be affected by the monitors refresh rate, so I had to reduce mine to play at a reasonable speed. Also, The tutorial appears to be slightly broken at the end and didn't let me finish the tutorial, so I had to refresh the webpage. Finally, I didn't appreciate the tutorial character making fun of me for dying to the tutorial enemy. I personally didn't mind it too much, but it's generally not a good idea to make fun of your players when they're still trying to learn the game. It's a good way to make them quit.

Sorry for that mouthful, but I wouldn't critique this much if I didn't love the overall game. The spinning combat is really fun with the different playstyles and upgrades, the risk/reward slot machine is exciting, and it's very polished at every aspect. Definitely one of those "how was this made in 7 days" games. 5 stars for enjoyment.

This is such a cool premise, and the puzzles seem really cool to solve! However, the entire game is cheesable by simply turning the lock until the green light turn on. I would get rid of the green light mechanic and make it work closer to a real turn lock so that you can't brute force it.

Woah, it's mashup! I haven't seen you in forever! Game was super satisfying, I wish there were health pickups and highscore was tracked tho. Still really really good.

Super fun to make something decent out of random notes! My only gripe is that you can't clear chords or measures, but the system itself is perfectly set up for satisfying music.

Loved this! It's pretty serious and fun to shoot those aliens. It wasn't possible to load the revolver when it got too big tho.

Good job finding that cheese! I knew about it but couldn’t figure out how to fix it in the two days I made this game (I switched projects last minute because I couldn’t make any progress).

Enemies react to your spinning, so you can use it to fly them off in a certain direction. I personally enjoy bouncing off of them with a spin.

As others have suggested, a lot of perspective issues could be solved by adding some texture to the pool table. I’ll definitely fix these issues up if I choose to keep working on the project, but I’m not sure if I will.

Super fun and hilarious! I loved how chaotic the tornado got, it’s a really creative use of the theme, and the visual style is awesome.

Very fun and addicting! A lot of it is probably just luck but it’s still so satisfying watching that number go up with insane multipliers. Really goes to show what juice does to a game. Also I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I’m at the top of the leaderboard :)

Thanks! I think Mario Party was probably a subconscious inspiration. I wasn’t planning on expanding on this game, but local multiplayer seems really fun so I might give it a go

Absolutely love this! It has super fun and satisfying gameplay, a really creative and well executed idea, and responsive audio that provides great feedback to the player. I love a good round of Tetris, and this is such a satisfying and interesting twist on that formula. Definitely one of my favorite entries so far.

Nice game, I enjoyed it! The controls are really weird though. I think you should add the Z and Up keys as jump options so that players have more options.

Very funny premise and execution! Top marks for seriousness.

Thank you for the kind words and feedback! I'm happy you noticed that the difficulty scales. Good point about the texture too, I agree that it would help with game feel.

Really creative interpretation of the theme and very fun! Looks and feels really polished, but not being able to unlock wheels with the mouse is frustrating.

Thank you for the kind words!  Funnily enough, I just fixed the metagame code before seeing this comment so it should work as intended.

Hey Siactro, I love your game. So I've been replaying it and new Siactropolis is REALLY REALLY laggy, to the point of unplayable. I don't think it's my computer, and the rest of the game runs just fine. Can you help?

This is super fun, especially for how simple it is. Great work!

My game softlocked here (see screenshot). I got really far though, and it was a lot of fun!

My Rating (If I had rated it during the jam, which I didn't):

Enjoyment: 5/5

Creativity: 5/5

Style: 4/5

Overall (I just averaged the previous ratings): 4.5/5

I review really harshly, and this is the only game in the jam I've played (so far) that I gave a 5/5 on enjoyment, so fantastic game!

I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. The arcade style gameplay is very addictive. Also I got second on the leaderboard :D

High Score: 68

Can you beat my score?

So fun I played it twice. My high score is 29 steps, did anyone get less than that?

Nice twist, and really fun to play.  This should get more ratings.

A really fun game and a really creative idea! I would play it forever if there were some goals to work towards other than score, but I know that's outside the scope of a game jam.

I really loved this. It was a bit quirky but also very fun.

I love the art! Interpretation of the theme is also good.

I loved the style of the game and it was very fun! Bonus points for the door animation and music.
