Similar to an idea I had and wanted to work on. You did a great job making me feel drunk…
It is impressive what you could do in 7 days.
This is a really cool idea. I really like that the arrows turned in the rythm of the music, which made me predict when the controls would change, that was a really nice touch
The game was really fun to play, love the take on the theme. I like that it would cycle through the controls in a non-random manner, so it gave you time to get used to how the control scheme flipping works. The art style was also very charming. I think the music fit the game well, and it was fun. My only issue was that at times the game was very laggy, especially as more lasers were on screen. The game had a good level of challenge to it, and it stayed fun all the way through. Excellent entry!
Thank you! The Laser issue was noticed, but I didn't get the proper fix pushed out in time lol ^ -^'. I've optimized that part of the code so that it won't lag anymore, but I'll have to wait for the Jam to finish to push it. Thank you again for playing!!!
Edit: I see we both had great sense in naming schemes lol.
this almost made me feel dizzy ^^" got to the end though, boy was that a challenge at the end :D definitely appreciate the spots were you can just stand for a moment to get your bearings again. Well done!
Thank you! I had to be careful not to go overboard on the difficulty, since even more simple challenges were made extremely difficult due to the main mechanic lol. (Originally the Boss didn't have those safe spots... but I frustrated myself in testing enough to add them lol) Congrats on beating it!
Been keeping my eye on this one since I saw the in-progress pics in the Discord. Extremely cute game that's deceptively hard. I love the aesthetic, the vibes and the general gameplay. The lasers' framerate bug on the web version actually wasn't that bad on my end, I managed to get by without having to refresh. The only other things I have to say that are at all interesting are a few nitpicks about some of the difficulty feeling cheap, but these are minor in the grand scheme of things:
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, ngl I figured my progress pictures got drowned out in the Discord but I'm glad someone saw them and played this! Also glad to see that the lag issue wasn't as big a deal on your end, seems to be better or worse for some people. Thank you for the feedback too! Some of them I actually noticed late into development (like the boss Terminal thing), so I tried to hint in the stage before that you could interact with them by putting the locked doors in two levels that could only be opened by the Terminals. That being said... yeah, I should have shown earlier that they would only turn on when the Spin Panels were in their Danger phase ^-^'. I did want to implement changes to make the beat reset and the post-boss death, but for the Beat I thought it'd be annoying if the music constantly reset, and for the post-boss Death I just couldn't make a method to signal spinning objects to all turn off right away ^-^' Definitely will make changes if I do a Deluxe version of this with proper fixes lol
To be entirely fair I played this on an RTX 4070 Super, I'm sure if I tried it out on my iGPU laptop it wouldn't have been fine! And as for the final boss... I saw another comment mentioning safe zones - I though those were just decoration!!
As for the music resetting, I can see that being annoying - what if instead of resetting the music, you just don't change directions on the first beat? So people have a beat-and-a-bit (but always at least one) instead of a fraction of a beat to get their bearings after respawning.
You are evil and I hate you. Great game
Eheheh, thank you!
Game was challenging, but I wasnt able to finish because the game's frame rate got slower and slower the longer i played the web version.
Yeah... I was looking into that during bug fixing, it was originally much worse but I'm not sure what caused it. For right now the only real way to get it "not" laggy is to refresh and load the save. (which is still functional in the web version)Sorry about that, I really did try to fix it :( It does not occur in the Download version
This is a really interesting take on the theme, and one that made for an interesting puzzle-y game. The movement definitely takes some getting used to, but most of the levels don't have much in the way of time pressure, which means that you're not limited to dashing through at top speed; you can wait for more-comfortable WASD arrangements and work through at your pace if you want to. It's a really hard game, but one that's pretty fun once you get the hang of it.
Love the art style as well. Nice work!
That's such a nice way to interpret the theme. I think I'm also drunk now :)) and now i'm going to partayhh. Love the little "ahh" sound when she fall down.
After some web build slowdown (and no audio), I tried the downloaded version and it worked properly. [For some reason everything worked fine when I went back just now, not sure what happened but it was probably on my end. Linux amirite?]Your concept is
hilariousextremely serious and messes with my brain, like a lot!I thought I had started to enter a flow state with the controls until I reached what I believe to be the final level. I threw in the towel and will just have to sleep off all that milk, cause there ain't no way I'm drinking all that water too ;-;
But yeah I had a great time playing this. Really superb work here!
Ah! That happens sometimes, you just gotta click on the game and the audio will come back. It has something to do with the GX Exports lol
Thank you for playing!!!
This game was so difficult for but I loved the art
Yeah, it's like you're controlling a.
.. uhhh.. what would the equivalent of being intoxicated be for Milk? Milktoxicated?Milktoxicated person.Yeah that works!Jokes aside yeah I struggled with it a bit too, and I had to tone done some areas because it was too much even for me. Still difficult, and that's part of the fun lol. Thank you very much for playing!!!!!
The game is extremly hard, at least for me, that being said i looooove the character, she's so funny, the death audio would be extremly annoying but it gets balanced by how extremly funny it is, first time i heard it i keept jumping off the map to hear it again and laugh. I would love to complete the game because it is fun and cool but it's too hard for me
Yeah! It's difficult, that's for sure! Glad you enjoyed the serious humor and glad you saw the vision with the death audio lmao. If I make a improved version after the jam, I'll 100% tweak some areas to be easier and add more checkpoints. Thank you for playing my game!!!
The game kept crashing but other than that, really creative concept! I really liked the art and music :)
Thank you! May I ask where the game was crashing?
I went ahead and played through the Web version and think I found where these crashes would happen, went ahead and patched it ;D Hopefully that fixes the crashing issue ^-^
Interesting concept and I love the art and funny audio when you fall. I didn't understand the controls but maybe thats on purpose haha
Thank you very much! Yeah, the controls are... seriously wonky, but that's half the fun ;D
very cute!! interesting mechanic and i loved the art ^_^
Thank you very much! I had some fun making the art for the game lol
