Really well-developed game!
More than anything, I want to make a comment regarding the “Game Jam” portion of your description: Game Jams are inherently different from regular game development processes! What you should do in a proper game project is super different than what you should do in a game jam. Game jams teach you time management more than anything, and in that sense, I think you’ve learnt a valuable lesson!
Don’t give up on participating in more jams! For me, they often boost my morale as a game developer, they help in teaching me valuable lessons and sometimes they even help me make new connections!
With that being said, you did really well!
This was a solo project and I really didn’t manage my time properly. Feedback for the note hits was going to be a part of the polishing process, but by the last hours, I was still making the charts.
I do want to note though, even though I didn’t personally compose the music, the songs aren’t lazily grabbed off the internet. I remixed sheet music and built the songs in a software to get something somewhat new!
As much as I would’ve loved to use real instruments, this was a one person project with a budget of $0 and I don’t own a bass!
I wanted to do at least 3 songs, but unfortunately the deadline came quicker than I’d have liked it to. Although you’re the first person to wish for more songs, so I appreciate that someone liked the game enough to wish for more!
Very Undertale-y. In games like these, interacting with everything in the world can sometimes feel like a chore, but in this one, it was satisfying. The information relayed in the texts was entertaining and charming.
I like to think this isn’t just a silly game, but is also a reflection of the world we live in today. I couldn’t help but draw parallels with global warming in the real world.
Good game. Would recommend!
On my first run, my soul got devoured!! But on my second run, I managed to convince them I’m a good person. On the third run, I managed to get the extra time and checked out all the things, yet the game still said I should go back and discover more which confused me a little bit. Is there more to learn?
Fun game with a very unique art style!
I was planning to do different charts for each difficulty, but didn’t have the time!
Currently, difficulty determines things like: How many misses it takes to lose 1 bar of health; How many hits it takes to recover a bar of health; the odds of an effect activating on an active/spawning note and more!
