Loved the art style! It reminds me of Yoshi's Island.

Immaculate artstyle

I’m really inspired by the style of the game, it’s super cool! The visuals are what truly pulled me in. The targets which we destroy using the  slingshot looked like the speakers from Teletubbies🔊

Yoshi Island 3D. Pretty neat art style

This game feels like what if Yume Nikki have Doom gameplay. Very cool game.

I really struggled to enjoy this game. One, it's weird that you start the game by facing a cliff and having the cloud tell you to follow it. I thought it wanted me to try jump off of it at first. Two, I decided to play this game without reading the itch page which was a huge mistake.  I had no idea that you could interact with things. So I skipped past everything and was bored by how large and empty the levels were. Three, it was impossible to know where my slingshot would hit so creating the bridge was pure trial and error. Then I spent forever figuring how to make the sprout grow under the cloud. It was by accident I discovered you could interact with things. Everything in that area kept referring to a flashlight but I had no idea where to get one. That's when I decided to read the itch page and learned you start with the flashlight. From there I found the next two puzzles were more pure trial and error. And I beat the next two bosses by standing directly in front of them and shooting them until they died.

The art, music and writing are superb but the game design is a real let down. Also this game doesn't seem to implement the theme of the jam

I love our character's arms, I don't know what it is about them but they resonate with me

I think I got stuck, but only because I didn't want to hurt those cute looking animations. Looks great, and the world is super captivating. Thanks for submitting!

Thank you so much for playing the game on your livestream, it was incredibly fun and awesome to watch! 😊

I noticed during the stream that you couldn't pass through the dialogues - just a quick tip: you can actually skip or speed them up by pressing the Shift key! Also, thank you so much for the high praise on the visuals and animations, I'm really glad they caught your eye (even if it made you feel a bit guilty attacking the cute monsters, haha!). Thanks again for the support! 🎮✨🔥

Interesting idea

1 ... Art fits together

Bugs

2 ... texture flicker (is check if mipmap is enabled)

3 ... sometimes not intentional lines appear between hills

4 ... a bridge in distance disappear if I move camera up-down

Developer

Thank you so much for pointing these out! I'll definitely do my best to fix all of these rendering bugs in the upcoming versions. Appreciate the help!

Apart from the fact that I don't feel like it implements the theme at all, this game is AMAZING. You definitely need to make it into a full game.
Here are some improvements you could do:
- more boss attack patterns and maybe weaknesses to an element so that it deals more damage.
- better hints  for recharging ammo and where the player needs to go
- interactable npcs
- upgrading each "gun" by progressing through the story or beating a boss would be really nice
Overall, a really pleasant experience!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback and all these suggestions! Your ideas are honestly really cool, and I will absolutely add them to the new version of the game. And yes, I am definitely planning to expand this project and make a full version out of it! Thanks for the motivation and for playing!

I saw one screenshot and had to play it immediately. Killer art style, great understanding of form, color, appeal, gradients, really really nice. The boss enemy was good, but I could've gone for more combat, personally. Nice work!

The visuals are stunning, game feel is stunning, the world is stunning, pretty much everything is stunning. You did a fantastic job, I got no notes , well done!

Very cute game!! Its very cool but some things are a bit unclear (like the flowers that cant be watered) or a bit slow. Overall its a pretty solid game and really chill, nice job!

The game is very pretty and it's impressive all you did in one week :D this could very well be a demo for a full game !

One of my complaints would be the level design ? I didn't know you could interact with NPCs so it was just very big sections of walking for me :/  some of the tutorial was a little confusing too (I kept trying to water the dead(?) flowers) and I wasn't able to use the flashlight in any fight, it didn't seem to do anything. The current level design gives it those dreamy vibes but I kind of walked past it since I felt I was meant to keep going forward until the next boss u_u. The combat was alright, like a first person bullet hell type of game. It felt a little too easy (which is better than too hard anyways) except the onion who was the tankiest enemy ever and made me question if I was playing the game right >:'(

It's still really impressive and has a lot of potential though ! You created a really interesting world with very few hints of the lore (maybe the NPCs had more lore) and it got me invested to what was happening in your universe.  Great game, I'm sure a full-length version would do well !

The game looks absolutely beautiful and is incredibly well polished, especially considering how little time you had to make it. Congratulations on an amazing game!

The visuals/animations were simple but oh so cute, I like the cartoonish vibe and reminded me of old NES style games. Boss fights we fun and simple but the lack of on on screen instructions for controls at the start confused me at first. I didn't read the page and didn't even realize I could interact with the NPCs until my partner told me while watching me play, I just guessed the controls outside of dialogue like the flashlight since I didn't actually talk to the NPC next to it until after I figured that out. Same with the rocks I just guessed the distance when holding down for longer would hopefully increase since the first shots weren't anywhere close to the target.
The music was very on cute and I liked sounds you had for the attacks as well!

I think this was really good but didn't fit the theme of "Spin to Win" much beyond being able to avoid the attacks by "spinning" around them, otherwise I really liked it over all and think it's a good jumping off point and would play it again when the full version comes out!

I was drawn to this game for the art and it certainly delivers, its so cute! The dialogue was nice and I like that it seemed to hint at something deeper. Gameplay wise I think I'd have liked to see a little less empty walking and more complex puzzles puzzles, maybe some types of interactions between the tools? But that can be done with time! The boss fights were fun but the second one really had a ton of hp so it started to drag a little. Not sure if I was doing something wrong.

You have a good start here for sure! though I'm not really sure how spinning related to this at all.

Submitted(+1)

I really liked then overall design, The concept of spinning around the ennemy.

It's impressive the sheer number of asset that was created in one week

It 's a great work

Your game seems so cool but i cannot play it :(((  (i've not reviewed yet but i want to play it so much)

My mouse cannot move more than the windows size

do you have any idea how can i fix it to play it ?

Developer

Thanks for wanting to play! This is a classic web build bug with mouse capture. Here are a few ways you can try to fix it:

  1. Try switching the game to fullscreen mode (there is usually a button in the bottom right corner of the itch window, or you can try pressing Enter / Alt + Enter).
  2. Try pressing Escape while in the browser to release the mouse cursor, and then click back into the game window.
  3. If nothing else works, you can download the Windows version directly, it should work flawlessly.

Also, just a quick heads-up: if the camera sensitivity feels a bit too high/extreme once it starts working, you can easily adjust it inside the game by pressing the Ctrl key.

Let me know if any of these helped! 🖥️🐭✨

Awwww I really like this game!!! From the art to the mechanics themselves, I was quite invested in the world and the characters introduced. I also really liked how the world was designed, great work!!
