I think this was a wonderful platformer game with such a simple premise but as the levels progressed it got more and more challenging to the point where I was really struggling but in an enjoyable way. I'm a fan of platformers like Celeste and this gave me similar vibes which I liked.
While levels 1-3 felt coherent in theme (almost like a puzzle game with how i have to search for the screws) the last two levels kind of devolved into geometry dash and minecraft dropper lol. I definitely enjoyed them but they didn't really fit with the rest of the game. And it would've been nice to have a way to look downwards on some screens so that its not just trial and error, but regardless I really did enjoy my time playing this!
I usually pass up on platformers cuz I am simply not very good at them but the artstyle of this one intrigued me and I was not dissapointed!
I went through the 1st stage and seeing there were 5 in total I imagined that I was going through all of them quite quickly only to discover all of it was just the 1st stage!!! There is so much game here it's impressive.
The platforming is smooth and responsive, the animations for the screwing is super clean looking and the voiceacting just pulls the whole thing together!
Well done, great game!
Tysm! It really means a lot to get such positive feedback! :)
This was so fun, I love how you vary things from level to level and it's never too easy or too hard. Great platformer.
What a fun game! The insane amount of polish in the game and the unique art style were especially really awesome :D
Attention to detail with the minimum amount of details executed flawlessly. Pitch change in the drill sfx, subtle but incredible at the same time. Great game!
(The scores are the time remaining when beating the level, so higher number = faster)
spent like 30 minuts playing this game, it was sooooo gooood, loved it, might be a bit difficult for new gamers but it was perfect for me.
Thank you so much! Great to hear that you liked it :)
This is the greatest screwdriver simulator I’ve ever played! To come up with such a spinning concept for the theme is just awesome, great work. I loved the art style of both the tilemaps and the gigachad like looking screwdriver. The Fallin Kingdom level was also very challenging and fun to play..cool stuff you did!
I love the hand drawn on paper style you have going.
Ty :)
I love the music it gives me crash bandicoot vibes
The marimba portions were literally named "bandicoot" and "bandicoot 2" in the fl studio file lmao
Very cool bassline!
Thank you! Was my first time making original music for one of my games, and people seem to be enjoying it :)
Very cool concept with such a unique style, could have coloured crayon levels or some variation in music but did not take away from enjoyment at all.
I think the idea of levels having specific colors is cool, but I tend to struggle with colors a bit since I happen to be colorblind. Maybe if I ever make a sequel to this I'll throw in some more variation, it's definitely a fun idea! Also when it comes to the music, this was my first time ever writing music for a game instead of using royalty free songs. I also somewhat agree that the music could use some more variety, but I'm still happy with what I was able to accomplish for a first attempt at songwriting :)
The game dev industry has not seen such innovation since tetris, I see Saxton the screwdriver get a pixar adaptation in 2 years
Woody and I are in talks right now.
