I love the limited visuals in this game! Hitting enemies has a ton of juice and it's really fun!
I lost my run because enemies spawned on top of me, even thought I was dashing and not spinning. I also love a good simple game jam game, but I feel like this game could have used one more thing to spice it up. I would suggest something like when you hit a blue wall, the player ricochets in the direction that they were last spinning. Right now hitting a wall just halts you, but I feel like maybe introducing that as an upgrade could be really cool!
Awesome job!
Fun game with a nice Tron-like vibe! I respect the simple combat approach the game presented; it made really getting into the game super fast and easy.
The limitation of constant spin for aiming really puts the pressure on the player to time their presses, so it never really felt unfair!
Thank you!
I like the vibe and controls, i was not expecting it to play like that but it felt great! Also it proves you can make a nice juicy game with just simple shapes! I didn't find mouseclick to be impactful like it didn't help me that much to change rotation direction, maybe as you pres and hold spin can speed up or slow down or somethng? Anyways nice game cool vibes kudos!
Thanks for the feedback! I like your suggestion, I'll see if it works and I might update the game to use it.
Cool game, well done!
Thank you!
really good game! it is really enjoyable, played it a bit too much
Thanks!
Very nice game! I was frustrated by the unusual control scheme at first, but when I got it, it all fell into place. I like how this game is about finding the rhythm and following it, rather than trying to precisely control movement. And a variety of enemies was a pleasant surprise too. My only suggestion would be to maybe make upgrades more varied and interesting, as of now, they feel pretty dull.
Also, the visual presentation and music are just so classy! Loved it.
Thanks for the feedback! As the upgrades were added on the second last day of the game jam, I didn't have time to make any cool upgrades like I had planned. Glad you liked my game!
Simple but has some TRON vibes to it as well! I think it would feel even better if it followed Vampire Survivor likes and you got upgrades based on XP drops instead of per round. I wanted more and more upgrades!
Thanks for the feedback! I would have made upgrades based on XP, but I did not have time for that.
Simple but effective, the music and the volume at which it's played really gets you in. I think colors you chose are great for the game play but not for the menus. It was fun to play, but I just couldn't move in the direction I wanted, a skill issue I guess.
Thanks for the feedback!
I really enjoyed this game, it's very addictive! The visuals remind me of Geometry Wars, absolutely love that style. The gameplay itself is simple but engaging; it takes some skill to time the acceleration with a line of enemies. I only got to level 12(? I saw the blue fast triangles, they're mean lol) but it was a good time.
I would've appreciated some extra dopamine hits and/or flexibility when it comes to progression. If there were checkpoints at every 5 waves, I would feel more likely to keep trying for Wave 25; as it is now, I'm content with my ability to reach 12 twice. I also don't think killing enemies does anything (besides clearing the area, which is important for staying alive I guess), which feels ripe for tying into the existing upgrades or a set of unique ones (laser-scope aim? bullet time? anything to make killing easier). But these are just ideas for post-jam; the game as-is feels very good to control and polished!
Thanks for the feedback! Checkpoints are a good idea actually, I'll see if it works. Also, I would have done the upgrade system based on killed enemies, but since the upgrade system was a last minute addition, I just didn't have time for that.
This game is so much fun!
I absolutely love the minimalist art style. Even though the visuals are made up of simple shapes, the color palette, UI design, and animations all come together perfectly.
The controls feel really smooth. I played on a laptop, so it was hard to click the mouse and press the Space bar at the same time, but playing without using the mouse still felt great.
Getting used to the controls and gradually unlocking upgrades is incredibly addictive. I ended up playing for a long time. Even so, I still haven’t managed to survive all 25 waves. 😢
I do wish there were a pause button (although switching windows works as a workaround). Also, if the game had a save system instead of restarting from the beginning after dying, it would be much kinder to my heart. ^q^
I’ll keep trying to reach wave 25!
Thanks for the feedback! I realised I didn't have a pause button when it was too late to add one :( Definitely something to add in an update! Also checkpoints are a good idea, I might add them too.
Really cool game! Liked the mechanics! I got to like wave 10 i think, but honestly cuz my aim is bad so kinda skill issue there lol
Thanks!
Fun game and use of theme, only thing id suggest is maybe have it so you have to hold the mouse buttons to spin to make it a bit easier to line up your angle?
Thanks for the feedback! That's actually a good idea, somehow I didn't think of it
Love the neon colors and awesome UI.
Thank you!
That was a really cool game! Very polished, good sounds and visuals, and enjoyed the overall vibe of it! Very fun and satisfying too, was able to get to Wave 17, Great Job!
Thanks!
That's a fun and creative mechanic, and good use of the theme. I just felt like there was a little bit of delay betwen the mouse click and the spinning. If it was a bit more responsive it'd be great. Congratulations on your submission!
Thanks! I personally didn't notice the delay, but thanks anyway.
Fun gameplay loop and great polish all around. I think a wider variety in upgrades could be a big improvement, maybe some new abilities to shake things up.
Good work!
Thanks for the feedback! I was going to add a lot of upgrades, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time :( I did have some cool ones planned.
Pretty chill overall. The only thing I would say is I personally don't see a need to spin in different directions since it spins fast enough that it doesn't really matter.. I had a good time playing, though :)
Thanks for the feedback! I also didn't really change directions when spinning tbh, but I thought I should keep it in just in case
I am really surprised why your game hasn't gotten more attention, it's very polished and super satisfying to play, especially when you get kill multiple enemies at once. The simplistic shapes neon art is also great and suits the game very well. Some areas of improvement :
- I understand that spinning the ship is essential to the theme fit, but I was wondering throughout how much more fun the game would be if we had complete control over the ship.
- The upgrades were very basic and could have benefited from some variety.
Overall, I really enjoyed playing your game, great job!
Thanks for the feedback! For the spinning ship, I was thinking about changing it, but I do prefer this version, since it requires timing and more skill. And it does fit the theme more. For the upgrades, I left them until the second last day to make, so I unfortunately did not have time to make any more. I had planned some cool ones.
Awesome Idea, I liked the upgrades and timing needed!
Thanks!
Its very satisfying. I really like the vibe!
Thank you!
