I’m not totally sure what was going on. I *think* we would spin the bottle and whoever it landed on would draw a card with an effect like skip turn, lose hp, heal, etc. There is a main menu, so even a few words about what is going on would be super nice! All in all a great start to making a neat little game :D

Yeah, so if you spin the bottle and it lands on you, you get a "good" effect, and if it lands on somebody else they get a "bad" effect. I definetely should have made a tutorial but sadly didn't have enough time. Thank you very much for the feedback.

I like the bottle spin mechanic very good use of the spin to win theme and a very satisfying sound design for the bottle. I loved the sound for when they're talking.

I think the music is perhaps a bit too short of a loop and gets repetitive quite quickly.

A bit of a tutorial within the game and some cues for the player may help as it wasn't super clear at first what was happening during the other character's bit and how long it would take to get back to the player's turn. It seems the bottle applies an effect towards a player each turn, perhaps randomly selected or perhaps based on where the bottle lands on that player.

There was also a few visual bugs with the dialogue text repeating itself or cutting off in some places. Slowing down the speed for the text that is displayed may help there. Also making the text larger and better contrasting colors could help with the readability.

Overall a solid idea. The execution could use a few more finer touches but it is a cool and creative take on the gamejam theme.

Thank you for this amazing feedback, it means a lot

I liked the vibes, felt very cold war soviet Russian vibes. but it could have used better visual feedback for when it's you're turn and the bottle's attack/move

Developer

Thank you for your feedback and I have to agree with you, I didn't succeed in letting the player know what was happening very well

Confused for a bit but I think I kinda get it - the bottle points to someone and the effect is "randomized". Could use better feedback and visuals to indicate this gameplay. Also been looking up more to know what is happening via the text on top. And the text have some markdown like "[color=..]" which kinda ruins the vibe. Another one would be the Performance issue where the browser stutter for some reason when it loads. Really cool concept tho~

Thank you so much for the feedback, I agree that all of these could've been done way better in the time frame

Good luck and have fun with your game dev journey! Highly recommend doing playtests so you can spot issues early on (1 or 2 should be good enough).

Really interesting concept but I think need more polish and better visual and audio feedback for the game. Like a simple info on what effect will happen and the tension on where the bottle land would definitely make the experience more better.
