The idea could be fun, but I miss some kind of objective or purpose. I managed to destroy all buildings (kind of hard with the ones more in the middle between two N.A.D.O. "launchers"). It was also difficult to tell what was interactable and what wasn't. Pretty impressive for a first jam, though, and it's really good that you had fun making it : )

I like the idea of this! It's a pretty interesting take on the incremental game genre, since you're using the currency you generate while spinning to send tornados to the city, and that's the way you get money (instead of the way most of these games would go, where just the spinning alone would give you money). It's definitely something that would be worth exploring further in my opinion!

Since I read your comment about the game being unfinished, I believe the only critique I could really give you is regarding time management. It's certainly something easier said than done, and in my own group for the gamejam we could've done better on that department (only reason we have most of the game is due to a few people doing a lot of time crunching lol), but what I learned from my experience is that getting the most important basic mechanics should come before literally anything else.

Good luck on future projects, and congrats for finishing the gamejam, even if you consider the game unfinished I still say it's a success!

Hey buddy! congrats on actually submitting something in a JAM, its an achievement much bigger than one can say! and also let me tell you, if you are genuinely interested in game dev, never stop participating! let me give you some real guidance here for whatever JAMs you participate in next!
1st - Audio changes lives, believe or not, investing in some good music, infact using some suitable copyright free music make hell of a difference!
2nd - Guidance, another thing i noticed is that humans in general are pretty dummy dumb dumb, you need to show your vision and intent to them at every turn, so be clear when you design a mechanics, tutorials are developers best friend
3rd - predictibility, unless it is a story/plot game, every move going forward should be much predictible, unless the surprize element is there intentionally. In this case, an option to aim the N.A.D.O.s wouldve made the experience much better!
4th - polish, small visual things like the hampter being inside the wheel when it runs or the hampter not being able to walk off the screen seems small changes, but they make a HUGE difference! so polish your games!

I wish you all the best for this jam and the next ones you participate!

Thanks for the advice and feedback!

Yeah I think the game could've done with a ton of polishing, we never dedicated a lot of time to that, but I think we definitely should have. We tried to polish some stuff towards the end but ran out of time. I was worried about having something even worth calling a game (the NADO upgrades were added close to the end lol).

Will make sure to try and polish things as we go from now on :) Thank you for the design tips as well

Heads up to anyone trying out the game, its not good lol. This might as well be my first game, along with everyone else who worked on it. Though, making as much as we did with the time we could use is still enough to make me proud of myself and those who contributed.

No need to genuinely take the time to criticize and comment on the quality of the game itself! It's not like its a finished game, its as much that we could get done before the deadline. Almost every single feature added is something we learned to do during this jam.

Thanks anyways to those who commented. I will try to take what I can from any advice given, and use it when I eventually publish something that is finished.

The core idea was interesting with this one, but that's about all the praise I can give it. The N.A.D.O.'s didn't seem to have much logic to them, and needing to run the hamster wheel, although one of the main mechanics, distracted from the fun of shooting out the N.A.D.O.'s. Needs a lot of polish to be fun.

I'll be honest, this game is bad. It seems like zero playtesting went into this, playtesting yourself doesn't count.
There is no audio for starters, not even a stock music backdrop. The art is okay but some things are pretty hard to read at such a small scale. Its very hard to progress, as the movement of the N.A.D.O.s seems to be completely random. Theres nothing stopping them or you from going out of bounds. I managed to escape into the void since there were no wall collisions and a NADO made it off the screen. This needs a lot of work, polishing, and maybe a revamp.
