Really fun! The smoothness of Rolando's rolling motion is addictive. I love the visuals and the music; I did experience a bit of lag when hitting obstacles, though. Great job . -Off

i love that you created variation through music and colors! and the music is AWESOME, my favorite was the dreamscape music! i love all the sound effects, like the little tune that plays when you die! unfortunately sometimes i had no idea what killed me :( still, i had so much fun rolling! cute character and environment, also!
Very fux experience. Very creative and beautiful game. The gameplay feels very fun and its really good to keep spinning down the hills. I loved how there is a lot of levels to choose, and the style and vibe are very cute. Great game!
We actually just put the soundtrack on spotify because so many people were asking about it! Rolando Spotify Soundtrack
i love this little creature! this game was really fun, love these high-score type games! the speed and the gravity of the player feels just right for the game to feel pretty fun right off the bat! the amount of obstacles and ramps that the players can interact with felt like it was a right enough balance to allow for the player to have a lot of vertical moments while not making the map feel too crowded! the art was also really nice and there were a lot of very cool visually atmospheric variants in here, especially dreamscape xd. i LOVE rolando, very cute little guy! also wasn't expecting some breakcore-like tracks here, but they work surprising well and i went through all the levels just to see what the other songs were after hearing the sunrise track for the first time! had a lot of fun going through this game, congrats on the submission!
Wonderful game!! The gameplay is simple, but executed so well! It was a lot of fun rolling down the hill and trying out different ramps. The music is absolutely amazing, the sunset track is my favourite for sure! Well done!!
Fun concept that I weirdly didn't see yet on this jam. I love the low poly aestetic it looks really nice. Well done.
My only issue is that the dying animation feels weird because there is no visual transition between being alive and dead only a sound. I think stopping / launching the character would have been easier to understand because at first I was wondering if I died because I slowed down or because I hit the obstacle.
We definitely plan on putting a death animation in the post jam version of the game we just didn't have time to make something that would look really good. Having just the death audio was a compromise for time during the jam but we have a LOT of really good plans for the future of the game. We absolutely 1000% appreciate the feedback and you trying it out!
Thought it was pretty fun! I couldn't really tell what the differences between levels were besides a colorgrade, and the audio was super choppy for some reason (possibly outing myself for low end hardware here haha but I haven't had this issue with any other game yet so figured I'd mention it.) but the 3D models were pretty polished and the gameplay loop was simple but effective. One major feedback is that I'm not sure how the player dies, I thought initially it was speed based but there were times I'd be going fast and then just cut abruptly to the death screen, which was awkward. Overall, nice job! Love the main character :)
A death animation is definitely in the cards for the post jam version of the game when we have more time to make it look just right. And the audio issue is definitely hardware related. It does it on my laptop broswer that is super old and jank but it doesn't do it on my wife's PC that is really good. Oddly enough I did all the coding on the laptop and the downloadable version of the game runs fine it's just the browser for some reason lol. We plan on making the ramps/death obstacles more distinct as well because you're definitely not the first person to note it! Thank you so much for playing!
Cute!
Want more obstacles to dodge.
Maybe some powerups could be a fun addition?
oo boss battles?? new idea for u there guys ;D
nice game, liked how you turned slope not boring, so thats why i love it
Finally a game I can play with a controller! I reached 1000m in Sunset. It does feel very relaxing to just run and dodge obstacles. Initially, while playing I was thinking that having the ability to jump would be neat, but maybe it would leave out the fun of being able to land on top of mushrooms and other obstacles by using ramps and small rocks.
The original very first version had jumping but it almost made it too easy and lead to some inconsistent controls because it's all physics based downhill movement instead of the traditional movement where the player is stationary and the world moves around you. I took it out and added a handful of ramps (the post jam version will have a LOT more variants) and it felt way better and added to the feeling of control. Thank you for playing and enjoying it! We wanted to make a point of having the game be as playable as possible so we're going to ultimately implement every type of control we can manage down to gyro controls. I'd like this game to be playable on a samsung smart fridge if possible lol.
Very cute spinning! My browser lagged out the level music, but the main menu music was pretty good! Very cute art style, though not very serious overall.
I experienced the same issues sometimes too and I'm not sure what the cause is but I think it's hardware related (it only happens to me on my ancient laptop). Hopefully it's something I can fix in the post jam version that we are going to work on. It's definitely worth downloading the computer version to experience the music because each level has an original custom track made by our sound guy and they're fire IMO. Thank you for playing the game 1000%!
The gameplay inevitably becomes a bit repetitive despite the large number of themes and music tracks. On the other hand, the graphics and sound design are excellent. However, I'd like to see it in a more dynamic game. I think there should be more incentives to use ramps and perform risky moves. Great job!
the levels seem to be identical if i exclude the music and the colors. i would assume the gameplay would get boring pretty soon, since the obstacles seem to repeat, but honestly its not boring, its calming in a way. lots of music! pretty cool, stay serious!
The chunk sets for each "zone" are identical and each variant is atmospherically themed differently based on the original music that our sound guy makes. We plan on having multiple different "zones" in the final version of the game but for the sake of time during the jam we just went with one chunk set that we call "Muddy Hill" the next two we have planned are "Gridlock Grind" and "Macabre Maps" but we have SO MANY more ideas for chunk set styles and variants and they will definitely go up in difficulty I think. Muddy Hill is for sure going to be the easiest
It’s very cool! I will say the difficulty stagnates very quickly in my opinion, and there’s a lot of overlapping geometry with obstacles and it’s kinda hard to tell sometimes what you can use as a ramp and what you can’t, but over all I had a blast and it was fun!!
A classic avoid obstacles on a track, super clean and effective. I don't know if tracks have an ending since I always lost and was playing for a while, but I had a nice time while doing so! Really liked the theme of being a little pill bug rolling down on the ground amongst spiders and mushrooms, ahaha!
