Cute prototype! It would make it more fun to see clearly which parts rotate and which are fixed. And when a rotation is not possible, highlight which part is causing the issue. And tone down the screenshake a bit, maybe.

Really cool concept! It was pretty simple to grasp imo, and I think a puzzle game like this has a lot of potential! At first I was a bit confused as to why the pipes won't rotate, but I soon inferred that it was because the pipes didn't have space to rotate, which was a really cool learning moment ngl, I love non-tutorial tutorials, just wish it was a bit clearer with maybe a visual cue of some sorts. Also despite the visuals being quite barebones, it still looked felt quite polished because of the transitions and menu animations, so props to you on that! Only other downside I would say is that there was no audio. Sound effects in a game like this would elevate it greatly! Still great game doe 🙏🙏🙏

Fun take on pipe puzzles! I think a lot of the issues mentioned by others could likely be solved by drawing outlines for the rotatable areas. This would make it more obvious when you’re not able to rotate chunks due to overlapping areas (I think you may have mentioned this already). Also a restart button my be in order if you add levels that can be soft-locked. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I do agree that highlighting overlapping tiles would be a good addition and there already is a restart button (I think it's R) I just didn't mention it as you can't get soft-locked in any of the levels.

Pretty nice mechanic implementation.  I was a little confused about when I could press the buttons sometimes.  Maybe greying them out or putting a lock icon on them would help with readability?

I like how the game looks and the concept is unique, great job working on this game! I love the character's name too!

I like the concept of the interlocking "rings" so the answer sequences isn't obvious. It wasn't obvious to me which rings could be rotated when, though, because they still clip through each other in 'valid' rotations. There was some frustration from having to sit through the rotation animation on every click. Puzzle games like this should respond quickly so it doesn't bog down the player's thought process.

Thank you for playing! It is unclear when you can rotate what, maybe something like highlighting what pieces will overlap and I haven't experience any overlapping, so if you could point to where exactly it is happening that would be helpful. The tweening speed could be a bit faster, I added it somewhat last minute and didn't playtest it much.

It's only during the tweening that the overlap happens, not after it's settled. I can see how judging whether something is free to rotate would be a different experience without the animation.

The game was pretty fun, but it was a little confusing without a tutorial. Also a lot of the puzzles didn't involve much critical thinking and were just spin until you win. Which I guess was the theme so who am I to judge.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I do feel like the level design is lacking in 2-4, but I'm quite happy with 1 and 5.

cool concept and the puzzles were very nice! the game did feel a bit empty though without any audio or backgrounds but as a solo project that's understandable
