I liked the boss level after maximizing all upgrades.

Wow, this game is HUGE.

I really enjoed it, super fun bullet hell. If you really done it in a week, you are pro!

Concept is cool, visuals are nice, but I didn't fully understand controls. Anyway, I enjoyed gameplay

This game is super super fun!! Ngl at first it was quite boring but got  WAY more fun after all the upgrades! The visuals style and music create this really nice atmosphere, really triumphant. The only slightly odd thing was the movement, it felt like in order to actually swing the sword you had to sit in the same spot and just circle your mouse, but regardless still the game was VERY fun!

Very well made game! Here is my honest review:

Pros

  • Nice background music and VFX
  • Art suits the game
  • Fun sword swinging mechanic
  • Very vast skill tree with various upgrades
  • I really liked idea that instead of tower hp you have timer that decreases on hit
  • A lot of types of enemies
  • Nice progression curve

Cons

  • For me player movement towards mouse felt a bit inconvenient. My player always goes into one direction farther from castle and if I want to return I just lose spinning force
  • Rounds too short

My suggestions/improvements

  • It would be really good to control player with WASD instead of mouse position
  • Mechanic ideas: 1. you can add small spinning swords that spin around you. They appear every X seconds and then disappear after X seconds. 2. you can create slam on RMB: player jumps and when hits the ground he damages all enemies in an area and creates area that slows enemies. 3. Passive powerups that sometimes appear on the map. They give some powerful abilities for short duration. Examples: fireballs(lightning) from the sky, crazy (too fast) spinning force of sword or some other. So main point would be to risk castle to pickup those powerups for greater reward.

In overall I really liked your game. I hope you will continue to manage it further and release a full game. If you didn't understand something from what I have said, feel free to ask me.

Thanks for the comprehensive feedback! Temporary powerups that you have to pick up is a really good way to encourage the player to move around more, instead of sitting in the middle.

Very good game with nice art style. Had fun progressing but couldn't swing as much as i wanted to. If the rounds could be longer and the spinning swing mechanism would be more satisfybing the game would be incredible! Maybe moving with AWSD could help the player to control the spinning? Progression tree was the thing I loved. It was meaningful and made visible impact, a lot of different approaches to make. Good job!

very good incremental game but i think spinning could be better it was kinda hard to continue spinning for a long time

I think the pixel art is fantastic! I love the simplicity of the gameplay—it really lives up to the title “Spin to Kill.” You can feel yourself getting stronger as you gradually upgrade. Great work!

Really enjoyed this! - Maxed everything, and even then was still seeing new enemy types appear, great variety.

Definitely got the right feel of progression down - but I think some more satisfying SFX/Visuals when making contact with enemies would really polish the experience. My sword would stop spinning occaisonally when I felt like I was doing the correct motion which was a little frustrating.

Overall, great submission.

Wow, this is probably the game I spent the most amount of time with so far! The progress is just so addicting and the growing skill tree surprised me. I almost got all updates, but the last ones took a bit too long (at least for me) to unlock, so I was missing one or two when I stopped - but insanely good game!

Very cool, the progress is smooth, nothing bad to say about it!

Sword control is a bit unresponsive at times but maybe I'm just bad at the game.

This was a really fun and polished game!  The art, and overall presentation were excellent. My only suggestion would be to make the sword controls feel a bit smoother and add more hit feedback to make combat even more satisfying. Great job!

That was extremely fun! I got hooked into it and played until I got all the upgrades! I was pleasantly surprised when I bought my first upgrades and saw that the tree expanded. Great work, one of my favorites from the jam!

Great game with an addictive  game loop that got me hooked and made me get every level maxxed out! The art and music are great too, they really add to the traditional pixel art medieval style that the game has going for itself. This is an insanely polished and well made game. Good job!

Really fun and solid experience! Good use of the theme, and it is very satisfying. The art and audio really reminds me of terraria

Quite possibly the cutest knight ever in a video game? Great job!

Extremely fun game, the controls were a struggle at first, but after getting used to them it was really fun. The skill tree is insane for a game done in a week. The only complain is that some prices were to high imo, but besides that awesome entry, congrats!

I loved this game so much!! The sword movements need some work other than that it's a perfect balance of all the requirements! 25/25 :D

we liked your game too :3

It was pretty fun getting upgrades and seeing them fly across the screen. Spinning the sword is also pretty fun although tiring for me.

nice cool little game the sword controls are a little hard to understand but it feels satisfying once you understand it the skill tree roguelike/roguelite style aspect is really fun and nice <3
