the movement felt super satisfying and responsive. i did get stuck in a wall in the race mode once and couldn't get out :D it felt a bit difficult to integrate the spinning mechanic to my runs, but it's still nice to have as an option and i'm sure there's some optimal way to use it. good job!!
I really love how intuitive it was to control the car that was really sick!
A nice racing game! Good job! :)
This was a blast! I think this would be such a fun multiplayer game, especially with some abilities, and more maps. I loved the speedrun option too. Great game!
Oh yes a more Mario Kart esque experience. I did initially want to add some in-race items but was a a bit too strapped for time.
Fun idea! Lots of potential but the controls feel a bit too restrictive, it's very hard to combine driving and charging the boost, I liked it, was a fun play!
Thank you! I played a bit too much into the spin "to win" aspect, the mechanic is harder to do but to get the best times you have to find the best moments to integrate it
The game is simple and enjoyable. Nicely done creative idea to use the spin to get boosts but I think the game would have gained a lot by making the tracks less squary and adding free movement instead of simply the x or y directions.
The tracks were an intentional stylistic choice, I wanted to recreate the boxy feel of an office, now I do agree it isn't fun getting stuck in a ledge. And what do you mean about free movement? Could you be more specific?
I see i do understand the vision for the tracks then and I love the approach (maybe you could have left the squary visual aspect as it is while rounding the collisions ?).
What I meant by free movement is that right now you can only go UP, LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN and I feel like it clashes a bit with the spinning mechanic thats lets you freely rotate your mouse in any direction. I don't know if I am clear enought sorry I am quite bad at explaining my thoughts.
Still you made a pretty nice game well done ^^
Oooh, that's only the sprite that it displays, you can go in whatever direction you want, it's just the in game sprites won't show it due to an issue with HTML and the engine. I will look into it, maybe I get it to work. Thank you for taking the time to write feedback!
simple and fun game
That was a fun game! I liked the movement a lot! I think the boost would benefit from being more powerful and I wish the office chairs fully rotated around the cursor instead of being locked to 4 directions, but besides that I really liked the game!
They were originally meant to spin like a real chair but I scrapped it last minute due to a bug with HTML. Also thanks for playing!
The way the chairs move is very satisfying, I had a lot of fun just moving around in the tutorial. I had a hard time balancing spinning my mouse while also advancing in the track but I think I'm just bad at the game lol. Very fun game!
It is pretty difficult to balance getting boost and driving, sadly a flaw in the core idea, so you aren't bad at the game. Either way thank you for playing!
Very clever use of theme! I would suggest adding your scores as par or similar into the game, as something to achieve.
Thank you! I was a bit worried the theme implementation is a bit too gimmicky. I added my scores in the description, but adding them in the game would be much better yes.
Nice game. Just needs more polish and something making it more engaging
There is a small bug, or possibly a lack of feedback, where when the car crashes into a wall it stops moving, and if you keep holding the accelerate button while changing direction, it won’t move again until you release and press the accelerate button (left mouse button) once more.
Aside from that, I think the Windows-style menu windows give the game a nice touch. They make it feel both polished and unintentionally comedic at the same time.
May be from the HTML format, the game was mostly tested for a windows .exe and I found a lot of these random inconsistencies when switching over but didn't really have the time to fix them. Will look into it, thank you for the feedback and for playing!
