This was awesome! No dragon stands a chance against my axe!!
This is so clever and cool! The tile rotation mechanic is really interesting (shouldve grabbed a pen and paper like suggested lmao but i got lazy) and that timing based mechanic is sick. Really great work!
Very awesome stuff! Haven't seen terminal based games like. And to make a timing based attack thing is also epic nasty!
This is a VERY unique concept for game jam! I really like it! I was a little confused with the rotation mechanic, but I figured it out relatively quick. I think that adding some ascii art would just make the game that much better!
Wow! I haven't played a lot of text games, but it's the first time i've seen a skill based fighting mechanic in a terminal game :D The tile flipping mechanic is hard to grasp for me, but overall a really nice submission! :)
Thanks for your feedback! I definitely should have implemented a little tutorial in the menu for the rotation mechanic. I ended up adding it last minute and I was the only play tester so it didn’t occur to me at all how it would be confusing as the dev lol. Adding the little spinning damage counter was a combination of the gears of war reload and the undertale attack in my head and it’s super cool you found it unique. Thanks!
Neat little text adventure! The tile rotation mechanic is cool but wasn't really explained anywhere as far as I can tell, I didn't understand what it meant at first. It's also kinda hard to wrap my brain around with no visual aid. Wonder if you could show an ASCII representation of the current tile?
Noticed that potions heal you fully when you're not in combat instead of just granting 30 HP.
Also, I thought it was a bug that you can't see the damage roulette when using the dagger, but then I realized maybe this is intentional to make it like a "finesse" weapon?
Dragon was a little easy too, I think I got lucky finding him within about 10 minutes.
Thanks!
The potion thing was totally a bug on my part. The dagger was supposed to reset really fast, it showed up on my screen but maybe it doesn’t work for all devices and screens, it was meant to be a reflex thing but you were still be able to see it. Should have gotten playtesters lol. I did try to implement a map thing but this was my first real coding project in general and I had no idea how to do it. I asked AI but didn’t submit that version cuz it wasn’t made by me. Thanks for playing my first coding project and game!
No problem, enjoyed it! Big respect for the decision not to submit the AI version
