A really interesting mechanics! I think this game could be awesome, but controls are very annoying for me personally.
From what I could tell you can’t use keypad 1, 2 and 3, or maybe you can and I just failed to use my spells properly? It is hard to remember what the spells do after all. But as someone who was playing with AWSD keys, I couldn’t really get the hang of the game…
The spinning tower system to progress through the game is a promising mechanic and a creative exploration of the theme, but the lack of a tutorial makes it hard to get into the game. After reading the description on the page I was able to give it another go and had some fun.
I think that if there were fewer cards to choose from, but more variety in the aspect of the dungeon with torches, hanging chains, etc... and some background music, it could be really good.
It looks like you wanted to make it a roguelite with a complex tactical combat system but personally I don't feel like it really adds much to the game at this stage. Just a few spells, more lively sprites and a better sense of where we are in the dungeon would make a better difference to me.
yea near the end i was wishing i didnt make all those effect system things, and just polished it and had simple attacks and stuff. it was meant to be climbing the outside of the tower but i made it dark outside of it bc the lighter sky colors were distracting and i didnt have time to do like clouds and stuff but yea if i had time itd look like climbing the outside of a tower. the sounds were also last minute (besides the card sounds)
Still very decent for a jam game in my opinion given the limited time, and I hope you add all those things after the jam! With the sky outside and birds flying by, and the impression that we are getting higher every loop, that will look pretty awesome!
I really like the look of this game! The 2D sprites on the 3D pillar with the smooth camera animations make it feel really great. I was a little confused at the start, but I found your comments on the itch page and had a good time after that. I would love to see this game updated I had a lot of fun with the concept. Nicely done!
Very good idea and it was fun. I wish there was a tutorial and it was a little more polished, but overall it was great!
Very good concept. I would like to see a more refined version of the game, but for game jam its a very good prototype. Good job!
Very unique! I wish there was a tutorial it took a second, and also that I could see my spells when I hover on them. VERY cool system, wish it had more content. Good job!
So I love the concept, but there were multiple instances of the game freezing for 6-8 seconds when I did damage then the audio would clip really hard. Great idea if it was polished just a bit more.
i think its something to do with the particles idk about the audio but i think its godot caching the particles and stuff that lags it
At first I though it was turn based, which threw me off a little at first. With a ui that show which button do what would go a long way! keep it up!
I really like the visuals and the theme of this game. However, it is a bit difficult to understand the spells, systems, and controls when just given to you without a tutorial. I do think that the animations are great and that this is a great idea, and even though it could be expanded more, it's still a good game!
Really like the concept, did find that I occasionally burned to death without knowing why though. Really like the art style too, its not really something I've seen before. Great work!
