This was quite fun! A simple gameplay concept executed pretty well.

I played the game with Z + arrow keys, and those controls feels great to use. Other commenters have mentioned that E to parry doesn't work, but even if it did, it's not very ergonomic with WASD. I'd suggest switching it to a key that you can press with your right hand (e.g., J). The moment-to-moment gameplay itself is really fun, and parrying feels super satisfying. However, getting a successful run takes too much luck for my taste. Often, the game just throws you a bunch of lines with 3 cars right as the orcas come out, and if you can't deal with the orcas before you have to start jumping, you're kinda just screwed. But aside from that, gameplay is great.

On audio, the game sounds pretty good. The sound effects are all great (I already mentioned how satisfying it feels to parry), and the music loop is quite catchy for how short it is (though I do wish it were longer). My main complaint on the audio front is the lack of audio for clicking buttons in the UI. It also would've been nice to have an orca death sound effect. I eventually figured out that my parries killed the orcas, but it wasn't obvious at first.

On the visual front, I love how the game looks during gameplay; that filter helps a lot. The game could do with more grass decor and background, but what's there looks great. As with audio, my main issue is with UI. I get the game's zany theming, but most of the UI looks very flat and undecorated. I'd say the dialogue is probably the best part; in a world where you had more time, I'd love to have seen the rest of the UI in that style.

also I love seals :D

A neat take on an endless runner with really fun art and writing. I dig it.

It was a bit difficult; I couldn't figure if this was a me issue or something with the timing and/or controls. Parrying felt especially hard to do.

I still liked it though! Especially impressive for a first game in Godot. Great work!

Amazing game, very addictive, played untill I won.

This is a very cool game, especially for being your first game made in godot! I like the flappy bird esque dodge the car gameplay but I think at times it can be very difficult or even impossible to dodge the cars when two line up on either side. I'm also not sure if I figured out how to parry or if I could parry but that might just be an issue on my end. Overall this is a very well made little project that just needs some minor adjustments, good work!!

Very fun game, with a cute seal aesthetic. Very hard, although that is a skill issue. I don't think that e is working to parry, and sometimes the cars seem undodgable, but with a little tweaking I could find myself playing this and losing track of the time.

Nice game

0111 car pattern will very often create undodgeable situations, difficult to tell if projectiles are ahead or behind, and z to parry isn't ideal given how fast you need to turn at points. Otherwise, very well constructed and probably only needs minor tweaks to bring the rng difficulty down a tad :)

this was much more difficult than i was expecting! absolutely peak concept, I LOVE SEALS

It was fun and I was able to beat it! The ending screen made me lol

I liked the silliness of it all, and parrying was very satisfying

Some issues were that the "e" button didn't work for me, and I had it crash a few times (I think when I successfully parried and then was hit by a car)

The game was very rushed so there were a lot of mistakes like these.

Thanks for playing!

It's great, but a little difficult for me; I didn't know what to do when there are two cars in the same lane. Do I have to switch to the other side?

I really like the visual style. How did you do that dithering effect?

The parrying system is also a cool touch. Although, I noticed that the game says you can use E to parry, but only Z seems to work for me.

The audio is a little repetitive, but it serves its purpose well enough.

Overall, good job!

I'm not that great working with shaders, the effect was made by "markdibarry". I found it in godotshaders.com and credited him in the game.

Thanks for the comment!
