Nice game! Was a little hard to control all the separate controls at once, but it was overall pretty good!

Developer

Thanks for playing! :D

I find it cool, fair, and I got the gear. However sometimes I was able to just fall through the lava uninjured.

Developer

Got a lot of hitbox complaints, must've made em too small. Thanks for feedback!

Great game! The dashes somewhat feels chaotic but other than that really cool game. Requires to getting a little more used to it tho.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Really cool idea and fun game! The graphics are very neat and easy to read while playing. The music and SFXs are on point. The game mechanics are really fun but I gotta say they are quite hard to manage. I would suggest perhaps have levels increase in difficulty by smaller increments to "train" players into the controllers and reduce the stress that may come with the amount of controls to manage (I wouldn't take any away). I was thinking I would love to try this again with an actual controller instead of a keyboard (perhaps I could perform better that way lol).
Great game overall!

Tysm!

Fun little game but very difficult! I think a lot of my hardships could be solved if instead of a total level reset it reset you to your last jump. Great project!

Developer

Thats actually a really good idea tbh, noted for when I make more platformers in the future. Thanks for playing! :D

This is quite nice, the art is amazing. Though the dashing diagonally could use some work, since it's difficult to navigate at times.

Developer

Thanks! The dashing definitely needs improved but honestly I'm just glad it didn't break lol :)

Cool idea for a platformer. The art style fits to the game and everything feels well polished.

Sometimes it was a bit hard for my brain to hang on with the stuff that happens in a level, but it was a fun experience.

Good work! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Glad you liked it :D

overall great and polished platformer, the biggest problem i personally have with it is that it can often be very tricky to control the dash (especially in the later stages where you have to dash diagonally).
a lot of platformers (including celeste iirc) have this little qol thing where within the first ~0.2 seconds after you start your dash you can still change its direction. this game, i suppose, doesn't and i feel this is what caused most of my deaths (i VERY often found myself pressing both A and S keys and yet still only dashing sideways) and what eventually led me to give up on the metagame challenge (maybe ill come back to it tho).

the audio and visuals are still great (but probably could be better) and the main gimmick feels quite fresh and inventive.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

VERY polished and juicy which i love! Everything feels very refined and polished! The gameplay idea is cool too, a bit hard at times but I might just havea skill issue, and good balancing too with the whole one spin per jump thing.

Developer

Thanks! The difficulty is definitely an issue, I blame my epic gaming skills lol

Glad you liked the juice, thanks for playing :D

So stylish and polished!
I can tell how much love went into refining the feel of this game!! Fun, smooth mechanics and a simple concept executed well. In terms of criticism It was a little too difficult for me and so I didn't finish, my fingers get achy pretty quickly and the shift to dash was a bit of an uncomfortable hand placement (I'd recommend having an option to map it to spacebar instead).
What I did get round to playing was lovely however, Well done! This is an entry to be proud of!

Developer

Thank you so much! Was working on a system to allow for custom input settings but sadly couldn't figure it out. Glad you liked the game though, thanks for playing! :D

This is from one of your playtesters. I'd already seen this when a code was required to access the game. First time I played it, the level rotation was controlled with HJKL and everything in the level conspired to make you fail. I was capped at level 2. Second time around world rotation was bound to arrow keys, which made it easier to complete levels and I reached level 6. Game still conspired to make me fail because of the weird lava hitboxes. The finished product has none of those issues anymore, and the only reason I didn't complete this yet is probably skill issue at this point. Reached level 7, we have no more deaths when standing near lava pools, and Idk what you did but the game runs smoother than before and movement feels less snappy. This really is a great job and even better than that, it shows that you're a dev who listens. I won't talk about enjoyment, creativity and all that because it's obvious you clearly nailed those. Fantastic work, nice rage game.

Developer

Thanks for all of your help playtesting! I tried to fix as many bugs as I could, glad you liked the changes :)

All of my games are and will always be rage games lol, thanks again for all the help and thanks for playing!

Creative implementation of the theme. I struggled at the level 1 tutorial (yes I am that bad at platformers) but I soon realized I can use arrow keys to juke the level, so thanks for that.

Overall, great game feel, juice and level design!

Developer(+1)

You aren't bad at platformers, platformers are just bad at you 😎

Thanks for playing! :D

I love all the juice you put into this, there are some very nice effects and visuals! It's cool that you managed to make the world-rotation mechanic feel so polished. But I feel like the physics could be tweaked a little, especially dashing. And the level design could use a bit more work.

Overall, a great submission! :>

Developer(+1)

Thanks! My level design skills are SLOWLY improving over time, within the next 1,000 years I might figure out how to at least make a tutorial lol

Thanks for playing :D

Another game by Reckd, another accidental rage game… (seriously how do you keep doing this??)

I was happy that the game was about making Roy happy with the consumption of cookies, but it was pretty difficult to do so! Some jumps really felt precision-perfect to get done. Regardless, sick visuals as always! Good job!! ^^

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I specialize in making games only I enjoy lol :P

Submitted(+1)

the game was really enjoyable, but i felt the levels to be challenging, maybe  just me.. anyways cool game!

Developer

Oh no its totally a me issue lol, the difficulty scales wayy to fast. Anyways thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

This game was difficult, but really well thought out and put together with care! Love the animations too! I could feel myself improving with each attempt as I learned the controls.

Developer

The difficulty is my bad lol, I guess I'm just too good /j

Thanks for playing :D

The levels felt quite challenging and it was worth the reward when I finally made it to the cookie! The ability to spin the world around you is an interesting concept, even though it can be disorienting. I found myself back to the beginning a couple of times X-D. Maybe if the colour gradient was darker/brighter closer to the end of level it would be easier to navigate.

I would personally remap the controls to SPACE for dash instead of SHIFT because dashing with my little finger was not convenient for me, and it's such an essential part of the game.

Being introduced to new mechanics half-way through the game (the orbs) was also a nice touch and gave a sense of progression to the game, instead of just going through different levels. My only regret is that I didn't make it past "The Dropper".

An easy-to-implement quality improvement would be to add a different audio loop and colour theme for each level.

Overall a nice platformer with familiar elements, a new twist and a decent amount of effort on level design!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! Level design is my big weakness and this adivce is genuinely helpful. (Do have to say there is more introduced later lol) The game is mostly inspired by celeste for controls and I was trying to add control config but couldn't figure it out due to pure skill issues. Anyways thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing! :D

This is a really well put together platformer. Levels were well designed and decently challenging. Dashing diagonally can be a bit of a challege on keyboard, but overall the movement was done well.

Developer

Glad you liked it! Its my first time ever trying to put together a dash so its rough, but we'll just call it an intended feature lol. Glad you enjoyed the levels and thanks for playing :D

Submitted(+1)

Great precision platformer, but very tight for a jam game! Dashing sideways felt a bit short compared to every other direction and some of the orbs didn't get 'collected', but a great experience, would play more!

Metagame cogs 8/125

Developer(+1)

Thanks! (I spent an entire day trying to fix the orbs lmao) Glad you thought it was fun! Good luck with the rest of the cogs :)

I'm having some Jump King flashbacks. I managed to make it to level 7 before I realized that I could rotate using the up arrow as well (even though you had a level stating you could use any of the 4 directions I was still only thinking of left and right rotations). I missed the mouse wheel tip on my first play through as well. I was more concentrated on not dying to the laser lava I guess. I really like the rotation mechanic and I didn't have any issues with input lag, I just suck at later levels. I had a lot of fun dying!

Developer

Glad you liked it! I'll admit my method for making a tutorial is a little bland just being text and all. Thanks for playing!
