This is really well done, from the beautifully voice acted and drawn intro, to the amazing music to the incredible artwork in the cover and the game itself! The juxtaposition between the very detailed battle portrait of Sir Lady Serious and the more cartoony battle portraits of the opponents is also a nice touch.
The gameplay, however, didn't really suit my taste due to everything, with the exception of the order in which you fight the three opponents after entering the carnival, being out of my control. The game also got stuck on the fight against Behemoth, which I'm assuming is the final fight in the game, after winning. I played again to see if it was a one-off glitch, but it ended up happening again.
Still, it was a delight to play!
Thanks so much to the kind words! I think we definitely got hung up on aesthetic polish over gameplay lol, and yeah unfortunately the final battle doesnt properly transition to the ending, we only fixed that right after submission.
We hope to keep updating the gameplay, and will try and make the battle system feel much better!
You somehow managed to capture both sides of my personality into one game... I loved it! It was a lot of fun
being a menacedefending my honor at the carnival.Really fun idea and well executed. When I was battling Bingle and Bangle, the icons on their wheel got really small so I couldn't see what they were spinning for or landing on. Not sure if that was intentional, but it would be nice to see what was on their wheel. Although I could clearly see the results, if I won or lost the spin, so it wasn't a huge impact. Really fun entry. :)
Hi!! Super glad you got so much enjoyment out of it! :D
Unfortunately that was a bug you experienced! We are very aware that the game is full of them hahaha
Hopefully after the jam is over we can expand the combat system and iron out the bugs!
This is nuts!! The art, voice acting, and audio are all amazing, and the concept of the game is really funny.
Thanks so much!
Really good-looking art, voice acting, and music. I also find it funny how you’re playing as this serious-looking knight while fighting against child-like animal enemies. It’s a shame the time constraint didn’t allow you to add more gameplay, because there’s definitely potential here. Good job!
The art style is so cute! And I love the clash between the player character's style and the rest of the game. Game wise I found myself getting bored and frustrated when, in battle, I would land on the X over and over, or I'd be locked in an endless cycle of me and the enemy healing all damage that we take, so the battle never ends.
The art was very nice. I wish it was more clear when I was getting upgrades (if I was). I also wish my attacks weren't all based on RNG, it can get a little frustrating.
The art, story and music are just amazing! Every part and detail of the game is so well put together. Gameplay-wise I wished I had more agency during the battles. A great entry for the jam overall!
The game is absolutely delightful!! I love the characters, the music, and the story is SUPER SERIOUS! Unfortunately I got softlocked during the otter fight, but I look forward to coming back to the game! I give the game 11 Sirius knights out of 5 otters!
THE ART AND THE CHARACTERS ARE SO GOOOOOOD, definitely a very serious game perhaps I would have liked a bit more gameplay, beyond just spinning the wheel and waiting to see what happens, but it's a great submission nonetheless!
Thank you!!!! We had more planned like skills and wheel customisation but unfortunately ran out of time to implement them >_
Game is 100% serious, great job!
I feel like there should be some level of player agency in the battles. As is, you could just close your eyes and tap Space. There were upgrades to the wheel, even just letting the player apply those, maybe give some choices on which things to put on the wheel, would do a lot to bring the player into the game.
More player agency was planned through things like custom upgrades and skills, but we sadly ran out of time so we just had to ship it as is. Definitely will rework gameplay if we decide to go over the game again after the jam
cool concept, could not figure out what I am supposed to do other than click wheel until I win. audio and visuals were great though
Thank you! Ngl, that is about the extent of it right now...
We were looking to implement skills but it didn't work in time
Perhaps check back one day!!!
My jaw literally dropped at that opening cutscene. Amazing artwork and audio. And like others mentioned, I see huge potential in the spinning wheel gameplay! All the best!
Oh, thank you for feedback
Thank you for appreciating our potential
hahaha thank you so much!!! We had sooo much fun creating the music and audio.
We hope to keep updating and polishing the game, so please check back at some point :)
That was peak. Loved the art design and the sound track is fire. Unfortunately, after winning, which I think was the final battle, my game froze on the battle screen.
Thank you so much! We had so much fun making the music and audio :)
That is a known issue unfortunately…
For some reason we couldn’t get the win screen to load!! Imagine the knight triumphantly holding the “leviathan” to the camera
Y'all seriously need a round of applause on this one. The art, audio, dialogue, and theme are all fantastic. If you are going to develop this further/had more time, I think an inventory system and being able to customize the order of the items on the wheel before each battle could be neat. I experienced a couple bugs. During the cotton candy fight all the icons for the enemy got super small. On the final fight (I believe) it froze after I beat the enemy. Really top notch entry!!
Thanks so much for the kind words!! We are definitely aware that it needs a lot more polish, and plan to smooth things out after the jam is over!
Thank you so much!!! Thank you for your feedback too, hopefully we can sort it out after the voting period, and yeah our win/defeat screen at the end got deleted somehow so it isn't a very satisfying end >_<
Amazing art style and characters, I love the complete juxtaposition of an aggressive and dedicated knight facing off child like animals and seeing them as foul beasts LOL. I thought that the fully random battles were kind of a slog since it was all just pressing space and praying and I experienced a bug right at the end of the otter fight which softlocked me but I think with time all of these issues could be panned out and this project still has a tonne of potential to be spectacular! Good work!!
We will fix the final cutscene soon, unfortunately we didn't have time to do the skills during the battle, but thank you so much for your feedback
The art is beautiful!! I loved the aesthetic and opening of the game, I unfortunately bugged out at the beginning so I plan to come play it again later. Really excited to try it again!
thanks for the feedback (we fixed almost all the bugs)
Thank you!!! We are ALMOST done with our final bug fixes!!!!
i didn't understand the gamePlay( a bug supposed ) but that ART at cineùatic , yoo juste awesome
Sorry about the game play >_< We are working hard to fix bugs currently. So happy you like the art!!!
Hi! Gameplay should be better now! Still not perfect, but theres only a certain amount of time in the world!
