A very simple but very charming little flight sim with a cartoony map and plane but some gorgeous lighting, like the sunsets looked IMMACULATE. I enjoyed just flying around but I wasn't fully sure what I was meant to do or if this game had some sort of goal since any time I hit one of the question mark bubbles it just kind of bounced back so I don't know  what to make of that. Otherwise though this was a very fun experience, I would love to see it get fleshed out into a larger project :D

Simple and clean execution. Surprised by the beauty of the environment, especially sunset and sundown. Loved the death animation and sound fx. Very fun to explore!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Beautiful art style, especially at sunset. Unfortunately my enjoyment was taken away by the fact that roll was on A and D and yaw was on Q and E. I play a lot of flight sims and the controls just kinda completely messed with my muscle memory lol.

This game definitely has a lot of potential and hopefully it sees some good upgrades in the future!

PS. not sure what the ? bubbles did but they were fun to collect, also why did the game try to access the network? I was a little sus'd out by that

Developer(+1)

Ah i wasn't aware of that being the standard! I would've liked to include remappable controls to help in this type of situation. As for the network connection, this is common with Unreal Engine and I think it's to do with crash reporting or something. Thank you for the feedback!

I am also a wii sports enjoyer, also loved that airplane game, and i also crashed into many random walls in this game like in wii sports

Developer(+1)

Glad i could recreate that feeling for you!

This was so peaceful... I love this game.. I added it to my collection of game jam games i like!

Developer

Thank you very much, that means a lot!

Submitted

very pleasing and serene sim! It was really satisfying spinning into anything even if i died immediately after

Developer

Haha thank you! Serene is exactly what i was going for, glad you enjoyed.

Submitted

Holy... what? the controls are insanely good! Responsive, and they made sense. I do suck at any flying game (especially GTA quests). I did suck at your game too, but i was in awe with how snappy and how well everything fit. Great job!!

Developer

Thank you so much! GTA was definitely a point of reference for easily understandable but still challenging flight physics.

Submitted

I really want the crash boom boom

Submitted

i didnt see any flying games in this jam so this was really refreshing for me and it was good really polished, also i loved the small island you build and exploring it

Developer

Thank you! The game was mostly an excuse to make a cute little island haha.

I'm a fan of flight sims like MFS and X-Plane, so this game really clicked with me. It's not really about flying, though—it's more about exploration, and each new discovery felt genuinely cozy and satisfying. Took me a bit to get used to the controls, but honestly, that just added to the challenge

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad it appeals to sim players, as I mostly only have experience with more arcade-style flying in games.

The control schemes based on individual axes are interesting, and good work on the environment and sound effects!

Developer

Thank you, I appreciate it!

Very fun game! I really like the juice of the dash and I love how simple but chill the gameplay is! Its also a quite creative take on the theme! The visuals kinda reminds me of those old school mii games. The audio is simple but very well integrated and I would say its kinda serious. The only feedback from me is I wish there's something that pops up or an end credits or something after I collected everything. Also, getting used the Q and E for turning took a while for me since I'm used to A and D and I do wish there were more necessity in using the spinning mechanic. Overall, awesome work and I had fun with this one!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback and for playing! And yes, I definitely wish I added a "win state" of some kind. Would definitely help the game feel like more of a proper package.

I very much liked this one. I never had wii sports resort growing up, only the og wii sports so I appreciate you giving me that experience. Every other game in this jam demands something from you, even if it's pretty simple there still is some sort of win condition. But just flying around a nice island at your leisure with chill music and good flying controls is just a fun relaxing time. Good job dude!

Developer

Thank you very much, I appreciate that you took the time to play it!

Great, Great Game!!! I appreciated the controller support. The polish was great. I'd be excited to see what more you could add if you had more time. Side note:  I did have to restart my computer the first time i opened the game. Weird...

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the controller support, I figured it might be a desirable option for a game like this. Apologies for the restart, could be an issue with Unreal 5.8.

This is so damn awesome! So much detail in this map and alot to explore, not to mention the time of day changing (the night sky is super pretty!), the dash also feels so sick, masterful VFX on that. I'm not sure if the controls are emulating a genre but I felt that if the Q/E were on mouse movement left and right it might've worked well too, though I ended up getting used to the controls anyways haha. Awesome stuff not sure if it saves but if it does I'll come back to get the last 6 bubbles. Great stuff!

Developer

Thank you for playing, I appreciate it! There is no save function unfortunately, I ran out of time to implement that.

Love the models, and the music, the movement feels really solid. I really loved zooming around and chargin up my spin!! Great one!!

I also loved the Wuhu Island plane game in Wii Sports Resorts, so of course i absolutely love this.

The controls are basically perfect, not too snappy or shallow, perfectly balanced.

The collision detection and "press R to reset" prompt was also accurate in my experience. It would've been perfect if the re-spawn system had more spawn points to latch on to, so you can spawn closer when crashing instead of travelling across all the island every time :)

The little UI popups telling a story about landmarks were also really cool.  Oddly specific, but i also really love the bubbles with the rainbow reflection effect.

It was both a lot of fun (the most i had so far) and relaxing at the same time! if the island was bigger or had more landmarks i would play it a ton.

Finally, i was surprised to see most of the pre-made assets were just sound effects and fonts, meaning you made all the rest in just a week, congrats!

My suggestions if you want to expand or improve this game:

  • Make the plane go really fast when flying downwards and keep some momentum when turning upwards (makes for some fun stuns)
  • Maybe adding some games you can find around the island? Like follow the rings, get all the coins in one minute, etc.
  • Improvements on 3D models and assets would make this game really shine :)
  • Extra islands and/or a bigger island with more landmarks

Cheers!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words!! And yes I completely agree with all of your points, I originally wanted to include all of your suggested gameplay mechanics. And I also agree the assets could use a lot more polish, I wanted to use the week to improve my 3D modelling skills so they're quite rushed. Thank you for playing and providing such detailed feedback! I hope to incorporate some of your points when I continue working on the game.

Very good little game ! I would have liked there to be a little end message when we collect all the bubbles but apart from that I had a lot of fun:) !

Otherwise you have courage to have done it on the latest version of Unreal XD, and the package of your game is still in development and not in shipping.

Developer

Thank you! And yes I agree, I wish I had added some sort of win state. Also yes you're right it's in dev mode! Interestingly the packaging settings are 100% set to "shipping". Might be a bug with 5.8. Thank you for playing!

Submitted

I had the same problem, when it happens you have to use project launcher mode, and you have to create a custom one in shipping with the content scheme in pak files. And you will find your package in the saved/StagedBuilds file

Submitted

Love the physics in this one!

Developer

Thank you! I spent quite a bit of time fine tuning the feel of the plane.
