I liked the tutorial at first but it got to a point where I really wanted you to stop talking and let me try the game already.
PEAK, love the concept and super impressive to have so many types of bullets and items. Tutorial guy is awesome. I think it was a little hard to keep track of so much while having to glance in the corner to see your bullets all the time, and I feel like the wave ending on a timer feels anticlimactic. Overall might be my favorite entry I've tried so far though!
No. No. You cant do that. You cheated. I KNOW for a fact you cheated. This is way too good. So just admit it. It was a proyect you worked for 3 years that happend to align with the theme.
Nah man I just worked on it for like 15 hrs a day lol
This one was an actual treat - the gameplay is simple, but the mechanics slap. The music gave Heaven Pierce Her vibes, with the ultrakill-style beats amidst synthetic strings and it really set that hectic tone. Sound design was a bit all over the place though - I feel like some punchier sounds could really have made that stand out.
The actual gameplay loop and deck-building style with the bullet storage is really fun - I managed to get lucky after the first boss and roll a bullet that cleared every chamber permanently, and my first mag was filled with all the bloodshots and poisons I had stacked up. Firing once cleared them all from my deck - and left me with a rapid-fire weapon without drawback.
Combine that with the trinkets for money boosting, and trinkets that went even further and gave me extra damage for every empty chamber, I quickly became a total powerhouse. The first boss fight was super close - I stomped the second. It felt really, really satisfying to lock in and take the game by storm.
This was a really fun roguelike that gave me the same sort of deck-building vibes that games like Die In The Dungeon do, with the incremental building up of your inventory to eventually sway odds and strategy in your favour.
The visuals are simple but effective, and give that old-indie effect that stuff like The Binding of Isaac has, and it works well with the entire UI design being punchy, snappy, and packed full of visual flair.
I liked this one. I had fun with this one. I might come back and play it again.
This could definitely, when polished up, make a really cool full release.
Die in dungeon was actually my main inspo for this. Also just one of my favorite games lol. Also heaven pierce her is just a large inspo in just my music in general. Thanks so much for all the kind words!
It shows. You nailed that musical aesthetic and the game feel of deck building Die in the Dungeon has. Good work man - this definitely has the trappings of being something really fun
I would have loved to play the game, the art really caught my attention and the mechanic sounded so fun but I kept running into the same bug where the first wave never spawned. Lovely art and it seems like a really fun mechanic!

Maybe turn off the tutorial when starting up the game idk
Actually legitimately a banger game. That you made this in a week is insane to us. PLEASE keep working on this, this is peak. We didn't mind the random spin of the chamber, and actually think that it adds to the game, and really encourages you to work on keeping your blood bullet count low. That being said, the final boss loading 3 blood bullets into your gun when getting hit with a single attack is kinda cheap, so maybe tweak that.
I'll def try and keep working on it maybe! The final boss was also made without like any play testing so uhh yeah I'll nerf that lol
Very polished game! The tutorial was a bit long but it was funny nonetheless. I love the animation and style for the enemies its very creative! I almost killed the boss but it killed me first.. I like the gun mechanic but it could be tweeked a little bit with the red bullets. All in all good game!
The tutorial sounds like you forgot how the game works and it's pretty funny. I think red bullets would be an actual threat if they either stunned you or maybe even jammed the gun so you'd have to wait before using it, OR have to discard the bullets if you jammed it too many times?(something like dat). I also think waves should be by enemy count instead of time cause it's kinda confusing why I'm beating the wave with a full screen of enemies. I really like this idea though, very interesting and it was executed in a way that makes me want to see where you could take it and improve some of the weaker parts. 8/10, the character should be a gun with legs too vro.
Just wanted to say, Love him or hate him, Larry has actual talking sprites in the downloadable version of the game. Godot audio bus stuff doesnt work on web, and his talking sprite is based on that, so if you want to see the big man tutorial larry speak with full seriousness, maybe download the game idk
The almighty wheel selected your game to be showcased in my latest YouTube video! Hope you enjoy.
Thanks for making the game! It was very challenging, and I'll be back to try it out some more.
Nice little submission, definitely one of the most polished ones, I definitely had fun playing this. Though after some time the "bad bullets" gimmick gets pretty much nullified due to how many other bullets you have, by wave 10 I hardly saw any red one. Also, it may be just my issue, but god damn was the tutorial guy annoying. I felt like I was sitting in a lecture of a professor who had no idea what he was talking about or was speaking publicly for the first time in his life. So much unnecessary stuttering. By the time he was done explaining enemies I just refreshed the game's page just to skip the rest of it and from what I can see I fortunately didn't miss much.
But overral the game was pretty solid.
Keep up the good work!
Strong submission. A very well-rounded game that feels super polished.
Small areas for improvement: I think the magazine needs to be a bit more central so it’s easier to see what the next shot is, maybe centered at the top. Otherwise, it’s too much effort to briefly take your eyes off your hero to check the upcoming shots, and eventually you stop doing it because the penalty from 20 enemy bullets flying around is much bigger than missing out on one blood bullet.
I also found R for reload difficult, because I have to briefly give up a movement direction. That can quickly feel unfair when you actually need to run to the right, have your middle finger on D, but also need it to reload. Put reload on Space instead. Your thumb is already there anyway, and it feels physically more powerful when you reload.
Maybe you could even say: Shift rotates the chamber to the left, Space rotates it to the right, and reload is on right mouse button. That gives the player the option to go, “Okay, blood bullet — I’ll rotate one slot to the right.”
The issue I had most often with spinning was getting 2–3 blood bullets in a row, which meant I constantly had to keep looking back and forth, as mentioned. But if the spin effectively becomes more of a skip, it feels more rewarding. It would also let me save something like the very strong one-shot for the bigger enemies and line it up exactly when I need it.
Other than that, great execution. I had fun.
That little tutorial guy actually made learning the game easier than if it was just text IMO - very nice artwork and visual effects, especially the splash of cash when you buy from the shop
There is so much to love here! What an amazing game. Love the art, love the voice over, there are so many abilities to play around with and builds to try. I will be back for more!
Super fun and juicy game, and I absolutely love the blood bullet mechanics! Maybe would make it too easy to abuse, but having the spin move the barrel a predetermined amount instead of randomly would be fun so you can play faster by predicting what will be where an when. Great balancing too, I managed to win first try but I was on deaths door almost every wave so I'd say that's a good sign! Genuinely one of the best games I've played this jam, absolutely fantastic!
This game is awesome!! Absolutely full of juice! Your tutorial voice and the sound effects are hilarious. The screen shake and other vfx and art are super satisfying. The gimmick is also super neat.
I dont know if it would trivialize dodging, but I think a roll would be nice, especially considering some bullet patterns. It could just be a skill issue though!
Also, maybe have a transparent version of the barrel ui over/around the player, so I don't have to keep flicking my eyes to the bottom right, haha!
Super Hard, Super Enjoyable, Super Funny. This is one of the best games I’ve played during the Jam and I had such a good time playing it. Amazing job! 10/10
Pretty good game but I feel like it wasn't very hard at all. Like at first I was trying to strategize and not shoot the blood bullets but then I just started blasting everything and reloading and just shooting with no care at all and I still just would not die. Except for the final boss, for some reason I wasn't doing any damage to him, idk if that's some mechanic I didn't figure out but I just died because nothing I did hurt him.
