How did you use generative AI? (If you did)
SADLY, Ai was used. D: I'm sorry. If I couldn't find an answer anywhere else, I would ask ChatGPT as a last resort. ):
It was only used for code, but nothing huge was made with it, like UI or player movement.

A simple and fun game, but I think a few things could be improved:
1 - The wall jump doesn't respond well.
2 - The art resolutions vary a lot, and the styles do too.
Aside from that, it was a great job.
Hello! Thank you for playing. I'm not really sure what you mean by the wall jump doesn't respond well. Also, I know the art has differences, and I'm really sorry, I had to use a free asset because of time ): .
This is a fun little game!
The plaforming was paced nicely, starting with easy ones progressing to more challenging jumps & carrot placements.
The controls felt responsive but it took me a bit to figure out that there is double/wall jumping, as it wasn't mentioned in the description. But once I got the hang of it it was very fun!
The different artstyles felt like they were clashing with each other, sticking to the one style would help give the game some identity.
I enjoyed this platformer and the nostalgia that came with it!
I know about the art difference. Making my own tile map would have taken way too long with my current skill in game dev. Sorry about that. Also, I was pretty sure I did mention the wall climb feature. Thank you for playing the game and leaving feedback!
Loved the wall jump mechanic, it was so fun to use, also the end screen is very cute, great work!
PS: thanks for playing our game!
U don't know how much this comment means to me. Also, I did like ur game a lot. Thank you for playing.
i liked it but the art style mixing doesn't really look good (character is a non-pixel art; and the enviroment is pixel art (and blury))
and i think
jump buffering, if you press jump longer the higher it goes -> could help for the player;but i liked the character;
here is a good video for it i think:
I was aware of all of these when making the game. I couldn't find anything higher than 16x16 for the tile map, and I was really bummed out about that. Making my own would have taken me the whole duration of the jam as my art skills are pretty bad. I am still very new to Unity and game dev as a whole. I barely know anything D:
I also know about holding to jump longer, and I could have implemented it, but time was short. It would have been awesome sauce to have in.
Thank you for playing my game and leaving great feedback for me. Next time I do a game jam like this, I will remember your feedback.
This is a cool game! I liked the run and the jump. I feel that the intention was to have a wall jump, but the implementation of your jump being available every time you touch a block was a little awkward to get used to. Consider checking if the player was on the ground?
Also, having sprites for the jump/fall that have directions would be cool, every time i stopped moving/fell/jumped the character would look straight at my soul, which was interesting.
All in all you've done well!
This is only like my 3rd game... ever? I am super thankful you liked anything.
If you thought the wall climb was weird, I'm sorry. You being able to spam and just climb the wall was intentional, or uh... When I was making it and implementing a ground check, it was too big, and you were able to climb stuff. I liked it and kept it 😬. I have never tried a platformer that can do something other than jumping before. Also, more animations are fair, because I'm more experienced with animating.
Thank you for playing my game, and thank you for leaving feedback. It's super useful for a little newbie game dev.
Oh of course man, just keep at it and keep learning. game jams are a super good way to dive into stuff you’ve never done before, so maybe next time round you could try shortening that ground check a little and making a proper wall jump!
ok :D
a pretty cool platformer
Thank you! If you have any feedback, I'd appreciate it. :D
I hate to be the one to say this, but try to research on platformer movement, the run was good but the jump and wall climbing were floaty and not grounded, you can take inspiration from celeste. The art style on the other hand is reminiscent of the games i used to play as a kid, so points in hitting my nostalgia
Hi!
I did do research and try to make the movement better😭. I tried to add coyote time, jump buffering, and even added a little custom gravity. Sorry if you thought it was too floaty and not grounded. I've never played Celeste before, and I know it's often praised for its movement, and I'm too broke to afford it.
Even though I did try to improve the player's time with the movement, it's obvious I didn't do a very good job. I am a very inexperienced game dev and can barely code! But don't worry, I try to stay away from AI. I'm glad you liked some of the art. I know there are a lot of flaws in the art and game.
Thank you for the feedback and for playing my game!
Hi! Thanks for even deciding to play my game! I'm glad you liked it even a little bit.
About the cons... Sorry about the stale idea. I'm basically a newborn when it comes to game dev. I've only made a handful of small and stinky projects in Unity, and this game is one of my better ones, which is quite sad, given the quality of the game anyway.
I know the pixel art is blurry and doesn't fit the character, but I couldn't find anything larger than 16x16 pixels. ):
Making my own would have taken the whole game jam. I'm sorry about that.
I'm sorry that you didn't have a better time playing.
Movement very well done!
Nice platformer!
Thank you:)
Definitely enjoyed this, I wish that I could see to the bottom before I fell so many times. Pretty fun! Agree with tall grass on the character sprite it .
Haha! I'm sorry for the inconvenience! I'll make sure to fix the camera in future games! I knew that would have been a problem. Thank you for playing!
I also really liked your game :D
i really love the sprite's of the character, also movement system is very well doen, feels natural. please check out our game!
Thank you! And I will play your game!
Will do!
