Thanks for playing,
i don't know why, but the sound effects and makeing the player to die(very important things) were the last things that i was working on, and i didn't finished the dying for the player, because i was tired, and i thought that no one will die 9 times, but i didn't playtested the game with someone(like wit my brother or with my father) so i didn't knew that it was easy or hard,
and when the deadline was increased i didn't finished the dying, because i just wanted to eat something and go to sleep.
idk why, but  the most progress was on the first day when i didn't worked on it much, but on the other days i worked very much, but the progress was slower.
Also thanks for comment on the visuals and on the audio.
i used FLEX(basic in fl studio) for the ending, and used the ultimate earthbound soundfont(link: https://www.musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/1392) for the game's main music, and for the intro too.

Hello, thank you for this comment and for playing,
i know that the moveing platforms are bad, i tried to fix it, but i couldn't do it.
and i love deltarune, and i'm currently playing in stars and time.

it was hard, because i couldn't fullscreen it, and i only saw the start button's half.
next time when you are uploading your game try to enable the "enable fullscreen button".
and try to use only 1 asset(without your drawings) or not at all, because every artist has a different art style, and 2 completly different art style doesn't look good in games and generaly.

but congrats on your first game, just don't give up, and if you don't give up you will be so good at it.

Hello, thank you for the reply.

i used the ultimate earthbound soundfont for the music(https://www.musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/1392), and the mario paint soundfont(https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/953) and the Undertale Soundfont(https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/914) for some of the effects(if you press x, that sound is from the mario paint soundfont), but i used mostly bfxr(https://www.bfxr.net/) for them(sound effects).
i used the https://lospec.com/palette-list/1bit-styx color palette for the art, and for the button's animation i used godot tweens.

good luck for this game jam.

Also today i praticed my pixel art skills, and there is a useful tool that i founded: tilesetter(https://www.tilesetter.org/downloads), it helped me to make this tileset(this image is from godot), i use the demo version and i think it has everything that can make a good tileset(also with the paid version you can make isometric tilesets, but i think not much people want to make a isometric tileset, only regular ones, and that is free) this is part of the prize list, but i think the demo version is fine.

i don't know why i shared this since i tried your game and it's isn't pixel art, but if someone else is reading this who makes pixel art, then i think this could be an useful tool(but i only founded this after the jam's submission deadline, so i didn't tested it in a game jam yet).

Good game, i was enjoying it and the virus sprites were nice, the 0 button did really made weird sounds,
and the music was great too.
But i got this error message when i quited in the 4 wave i think:

the error message:

Hello, thanks for the reply.
iIshould have play tested the game with my brother who isn't a game dev, only a day dreamer of becomeing a web developer, i was inspired by VVRR(https://kingmidis.itch.io/vvrr) to only use 3 colors.
i should have made the player slower, maybe the animation would have fitted better for it , and maybe it would have made the vibe more "relaxing", since i tried to make the game with relaxing and lonely vibe.

the audio and the visuals were bad.
when i tried to fullscreen the game it didn't resized goodly (try changeing the stretch mode in godot -> project -> project settings -> window)

also after the first game over when i started a new round the projectiles and the foot didn't spawned.

i enjoyed the gameplay, it was creative, but the visuals were bad.

Yes:

I picked up the blueprint, then I opened the fuel menu, I clicked on the blueprint, and there was another ui menu with 3 papers and 3 rocks, I tried to press them, but when my mouse exited the fuel menu it closed and I couldn't use the blueprint, because when the fuel menu closed, the blueprint's menu closed too;

it was fun, but not for long;
and also i couldn't use the blueprint, because when i tried it's just closed(the ui);
and there wasn't any audio;
i think you can make players stay more if they have a goal;
the best things were the gameplay and the fun;

the game was fun;
and the sound effects were great;
i think it's a great game;

the controls are really bad;
and i think you should use less asset and try to make an unique art style (low poly, thick outlines, pixelated texture, etc.);

good job on makeing your first game;
i think it's normal to be everybody's first game bad, and you only had 3 days so it must have been way harder;
i think most begginers only care about codeing but i think that the visuals matter more;
i think you should try out art jams too and try to find a good art style;
i recommend this video, i think it's good for begginers:

and also i think trying to make a some tiny objects could help you in mastering pixel art;
also one of the most important things are the colors, and for colors i use a website called: https://lospec.com/palette-list;
and also i think you should start with a gameboy palette or a 3 colored palette so you don't need to select from so much color;
good luck on your game dev journey;

i really liked the visuals and the theme implementation;
nice game;

this is the most enjoyable game i played in this month that was made for a jam;
i think this game has no problems;

the theme was goodly implemented, but there was no audio at all.
the visuals were unique, but weren't the best;

i think you can't make music.
maybe this video could help

(1 edit)

i love the gameboy astetics since i played with Necrow Co.;
but the gameplay was repetitave & was long for a game jam entrie;
but the theme was the best i think;

Thanks for the comment,

I could fixed the bug before the timeline,

I recommend useing #gameboy or color palettes with 3 color, it makes your game stand out a bit, and could help later because you don't have too much color to choose from and could submit earlyer.

Also I use a website called lospec where I get the color palettes from.

Actualy idk how people doesn't know that: there is jumping with the up arroe key and with the X button

the visuals were fantastic with the music too;
i think this can be a top 5;

that bird is evil he is the main villain;

(2 edits)

the visuals are so good;
but the character wanted to roll down(wasn't in ball form) from every object idk if the objects have a rectangle collision shape or isn't,
and i got softlocked after the second shovel(where you can roll down) because i got to the other side;

special object implementation was the best from all games i think;

but the main menu wasn't really polished i think some sound effect for it or the cat background could help on it;

and the reason why there is not much voter is because the game doesn't has a html build and most people only play those i think this tutorial could help for the studios next game:

the visuals and the audio are good;
but i think some splashing effect would help to make the game more fun;

really cool game, the art style is so amazing,
but i draw in pixel art and would want to draw like this could someone tell me what software was the artist useing please if someone saw this comment.

(1 edit)

idk why but this crashed my browser 3 times;

edit: it finaly worked and i finished, and the visuals were nice;
but when i trew the hook too far i could see the godot background(gray) and the walking was not the best and i think that the 20 fish was a much for a jam gam but i liked it personaly;

(3 edits)

-i think for your next game try to use original assets because a lot of people uses the same assets and it's a first clue for people that a game is bad but can be a good game but uses unoriginal assets;

-and at the end the soup had a tinyer pixel than the rest of the game i think some tutorial could help to avoid mixels;

or just try using less assets because 2 different assets looks bad next to each other;

(1 edit)

-looked good;

-but the controls were hard;

it was fun but ugly.
-the visuals doesn't look good;
-and i needed to refresh the page because the first walking scientist got stucked into a bit and the hutbox was too big;

(1 edit)

i really enjoyed it and the audio was good and everything other too;

but the viusals is a clear 10/10;

but i think the theme and sp object wasn't as good as the other aspects of the game;

i liked it,
but level 2 was hard for me and i think it's a softlock(i barealy got 100 point and after i still got the same dialog);
my favorite part was the audios;

i liked it, but i does it have an ending or it is forever?
i think the best one is the visuals in this game;

thanks,

idk if i can submit the fixed version but in this broken version there is a gif under the controls table that show you how to clime;

(1 edit)

at level 2. you need to jump (with the up arrow) the climeing only appears at level 3.
i try to include a video(gif) somewhere at the bottom of the controls table.

edit: at that point you can't even clime;
edit2: i realised i used is_only_on_wall(), that's why;

thanks,

climeing:
-the climeing has a bug: you need to walk while you holding the y button and pressing the jump;

(1 edit)

hi, thanks for palying and for the feedback,

how to climb:
-so i know that i really messed up with the climeing mechanic and i might but a note for others to know how to
becaouse the way it works isn't how it's supposed to work: somewhy it only works if you walk into the direction of the wall and holding the y button and jumping;

how to progress:
-get the tomato and jump further(down) into to mountain;

(2 edits)

i think before the dead line you should export it to html.
because strangers doesn't love to download random files or just lazy too
here is a video to do it:

the visuals are super cool, great game

the art is so cool

(1 edit)

i enjoyed it and the art and music were nice.
but i think that the character was a bit fast and i had some problem with the hitbox
good game.

this was the most enjoyable game i played on the jam so far. good luck

the ball got stuck in a loop where it only went from left to right and back
