Visual and audio is really nice.
Gameplay wise, maybe it's just not for me but I felt a lack of something drawing me to want to continue and I was just roaming the halls aimlessly looking for gears and getting lost. I didn't really have a reason to keep going, unfortunately. Perhaps you ran out of time or didn't manage to put a hook together.
I also managed to walk OUT of the designated map into the dark brown areas and roamed a little out there, I'm guessing that wasn't exactly meant to be lol.
Overall, good job completing and submitting something, also great work on the art and audio.
Next time, you should come up with gameplay that explores the theme first, and then worry about everything else. The graphics are good, but just walking through a maze isn't interesting. It would be somewhat interesting if at leastsomeone were chasing you. But even then, it doesn't really explore the theme all that much.
I did like the ambient music though.
You spent most of the time drawing instead of coding, didn't ya? Visuals are great! There's no gameplay whatsoever, so everything except visuals is getting a 1 star from me, with the exception of Audio since you included music. Walking simulators are not good game ideas, ever.
I mean people do like walking simulators lol (our game wasn't intended to be one though), but yeah we weren't able to get much gameplay working honestly just due to the fact that this is our first time properly working with Godot. But at least we'll be better prepared next time around though :)
I love the artwork and the animation is so smooth. I wish I could do pixel art as good as you can! I wish the character could move a little faster or maybe have a sprint feature it seemed a little slow paced. But that might also mess up the animation so I'm not even sure you should do that. Nice job!
Thank you for the kind words :) We probably could've added a sprint mechanic (if I remember right I even thought to myself it could use sprinting) but along with many other features and game mechanics, most of them didn't get added since we ran out of time :( If we make a full version of this game in the future though we would probably add that!
Beautiful visuals and music. I particular enjoy the tilework and the character walk animation (although there isn't a directional idle animation yet). However, at the point of review, the game doesn't have much to really do aside from exploring the hallways. Would love to revisit this once it's complete to update the review :)
Also as a bug, some of the tiles don't have collision boxes, so around the bottom for example, I can just walk through the walls. Beautiful project though!
Thanks for the kind review despite our game not being done, and yes, we're aware that the tiling/collisions in many areas of the map aren't done, we'll get on it ASAP a long with plenty of other changes :)
Ended up getting lost in hallways of oak and pine - the exploration and such was fun, the concept having to wander halls and search for the parts and stuff, but I ended up getting a little lost on what to do at times.
The visuals and aesthetic are pretty cool!
Thanks! At the moment there isn't actually a way to beat the game since I didn't have time to finish the game before having to publish, but since we're allowed an additional 24 hours for tweaks after I'll soon fix that :)
