Unplayable and confusing Controls.

Submitted

Cool concept!

I loved the visuals, they were very moody.

A few bits of feedback:

The movement took a while to get used to, maybe a dash would help with traversal?

And the attacking felt quite hard (could be my smooth brain), maybe the momentum should be easier to keep?

Overall, cool entry. Good luck!

I enjoyed the game! The visuals are great, and the idea is really good too.

Spinning can be a little difficult sometimes, especially when surrounded by a large number of enemies. The right mouse button helped a lot with that.

I found that it was actually easier to run away from the enemies and keep running until the boss fight started. 😄 The right mouse button also worked pretty well against the boss.

The game definitely has a lot of potential.

I also noticed a bug: after I died and selected New Game from the menu, the game froze at the beginning of the level.

But overall, great job!

Attacking is a little hard, the art is nice. cool entry!

I think the idea is great, but the flail should be "lighter" and easier to keep it in spinning motion. Maybe adding a dashing/running ability would make it feel better? I just ended up using only RMB to spin it and then running away until the cooldown refreshes. A visual or audio-cue representation of the flail cooldown would also be nice. Talking about the visuals and audio - the sprites are very well put together and they fit together quite nicely, even if they're all public assets. I'm not a big fan of that hitting sound, it annoyed me after a while. Still, a very cool idea with some minor issues that would make it even more enjoyable if fixed! Congrats.

I really liked the visuals and the number of different enemies! For me the movement was confusing and also the cave had a sort of blur of foggy effect that made it a bit too hard to see. But also great scoping looked like a big map to me!

I think I was too stupid to figure out how to spin the flail myself haha, but I like that I could use mousebutton to spin it every now and then. How do I get the strength up? I'm glad I could use it even though my strength was at 0.

Really cool visuals!

The movement felt incredibly nice once you get used to it, good job!

Awesome pixel art and I like the movement concept, although it was pretty  hard to get used to. It felt like it was better not to spin the weapon and just place it where it would do damage because of all the obstacles stopping us from spinning.

Cool concept and great visuals! 😊 The movement was a bit confusing at first, but I eventually got used to it. The only thing I noticed was that you can simply run past the monsters and go straight to the boss fight, which made the game a bit easier than expected. Other than that, I had a great time playing. Great job!

Cool concept, main mechanic and movement need some learning while playing to master them. Little issue with overlapping sfx but overall great job!

Cool game, I like the concept of "spinning your flail". It is satisfying to knock back enemies too.

Some feedback:

- I feel like the control scheme took a bit getting used to, although I do understand the idea of clicking where to go.

- You should put controls somewhere the player can see.

Really fun game! I enjoyed the core mechanic and thought the concept was very creative. The visuals fit the style well, and the gameplay kept me engaged. Great job!

I liked the idea of using a flail as a weapon a lot, but found the controls to be a bit clunky. If your idea was to simulate a character not being able to move freely due to the flail, I can understand, but I think it's a risky move to add limitations that could lead to frustation, they require a lot of playtesting to make it work. The concept of attacking using the flail is already cool on its own.

Ohh thanks alot for the advice bro tbh its my first finished project a bit more optimized and i liked the idea alot, thanks for playing i hope you enjoyed

That was a fun game! I really liked the art style you went for and enjoyed spinning my weapon around. It was a bit difficult, but that's just a skill issue on my part haha! Great work!

Developer

Lol not only you but even i was a noob in my own game Thanks for playing hope you enjoyed

The animations are great, and it's clear a lot of passion went into the storytelling. The controls are just a bit frustrating though and I ended up just running away from everything. But overall it's pretty good!

Developer

Ohh sorry for the wierd controls i will make sure to update it next time

FYI the downloadable game got flagged as a virus, I don't know if it's due to it really being a virus or it's just you password protecting the contents for some other, harmless reason, just wanted to give a heads up either way...

Developer

Bro tbh that's the antivirus on your end i have 4 to 5 downloads and no one has yet complaint, sorry for your experience with it.

I couldn't even download it because itch stopped me from doing so, that's why I came here to give a heads up... :(

Developer

Ohh really sorry about that bro I will try to fix it next time

I can see that I was not the only one, who decided to run away from the enemies instead of fighting, I guess you have to give more reason for the player to clean the areas. :D I also had some difficulty with the controls, but it might be a me-problem as I'm playing with a touchpad instead of a mouse. My favorite part was the evil laughter of the boss. Well done!

Developer

Hey thanks for the advice man i will definetely try to implement in other games. Hope you enjoyed.

Art is quite cool but I had trouble controling the player, After a bit of tinkering eventually I got it but it still felt werid. Great work though!

Developer
