this is a really cool memory game! my best score was 12$. i love the aesthetic too!! well done !

Developer(+1)

$12 is really good! Thank you for playing.

You should make the board spinning optional, and not clear the entire board with a wrong click. I just left the game because every time I'd click wrong, the whole board disappeared.

It's just not a fun mechanic to remove any progress that I've made the moment I guess wrong. I'm quite literally getting punished at random, and that's going to drive away a lot of players.

As for the audio,  there's no pitch shifting. Always add that to repetitive sfx in a game, or it gets annoying fast

Developer

Yeah, sorry, this game is ludicrously annoying — I should have posted a warning.

Hey my game is ludicrously hard! We're the Ludicrous Duo

Developer

What a coincidence.

Oh, boy. The ultimate memory game lol. I think I got like about 70% of the stars and then they all wiped :0 . The game looks really good, and I do like the concept. Nice work!

My brain was actively melting trying to memorize stars before everything went sideways. 10/10 would give myself an astronomical panic attack again.

Memory games is not my speciality. ;) I managed to beat it up to 8 stars to find. Everything above that was to difficult. Perhaps a slightly less punishing mechanic for one misstake, like if half dissappeared instead of all or something would keep me trying the harder levels. ^^

But that's just me! I think you have a nice and solid game here. :D Good work.

Very fun and  difficult memorization game! I had a lot of trouble with the X's removing my placed stars, but it does add to the challenge. Is it random how many stars a mistake removes? Great work!

Developer

Yes, it is random. Thank you for playing!

Tried revealing 15 stars at the start, which went pretty easy considering i only had to find 5 different positions, but then i tried revealing no stars, which amped the difficulty to 100. Having to memorise the position of the stars and also all the "X", was a little too much for my brain. The whole game is a fun take on memorization, I think I can see myself playing it more if it was on mobile.

Developer(+1)

Thank you. It is actually designed to be played on mobile.

Great game, love the atmosphere. Feels like an astronaut training mental exercise. Played on my phone and kept subconsciously spinning it in my lap lol - truly spin to win. Congrats on making this in 7 days! I got $12.30 if anyone wants to compete ;)

Fun memory game!  My only frustration was that it felt random how many stars got rehidden when a wrong guess was made.  I wish that was more consistent.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! I wonder why you think that would be better, and how would that number be determined?

I don't usualy like puzzle game, but this one was prety fun, although I could not complete the first level (I think it's me). I even got a bit dizzy, I think because it's not spinning in one direction only, but it alternates between left and right.

When all stars dissapear, so does my memory. Great game!!

So, first off, this was wicked difficult in the best way. Decided to start with no revealed stars (as I imagine many players do), and WOW did that test my spatial memory. Didn't realize it was going to be so hard to keep 15 distinct locations on a rotating board hahaha.

Surprisingly, the rotation added very little difficulty for my ability to keep things in place. Might've scrambled me more if it span faster, but as it was, it just amplified the vibe of the game, which I quite enjoyed.

It felt pretty brutal to have 13 stars revealed only to misremember and then go back down to 2. But for some reason, even though I'm quick to leave games, I felt drawn to keep going till I beat it. And beat it I did!

MUCH easier with maximum stars revealed hahaha.

I haven't played a game like this before. And I loved it. So glad to have come across this.

Very creative game, just barely managed to beat it on my first try.

The art style is great and the audio works really well.

Overall, very cohesive experience.

I love the aesthetic of the game! the sfx when you click a correct hidden star is very satisying, Unique concept too. Overall i think this is a solid entry

I had a lot of fun playing it! I tried to start out with very few stars revealed but realized that was way too difficult for me. The spinning makes it trippy but in a fun way, good job!

Submitted

Nice little puzzle game!  It took me a little while to wrap my head around the fact that there is no way to intuit where the stars are beyond guessing and checking, but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty fun.  The spinning definitely messed with my head a little bit, making this tougher than just a plain memory challenge.

I liked the game, but I think it does not fit the theme very well. Spinning is not necessary here, but rather a burden. The gameplay becomes clear pretty fast, while it's about remembering all the stars. I did not quite get why you ever would reveal less than 15 stars in the beginning though? The art style is nice and also the music is good! Overall a nice entry!

Glad you liked it!

Fair point on the spin — it’s there as an extra layer on top of the memory test: it disrupts your spatial memory of where things were, so it adds friction once you’ve got the layout down. That bites hardest when you start with zero stars pre-revealed, since you’ve got nothing anchoring your view. It is not “necessary” — the puzzle would still be there without it — but to me, it’s a meaningful and unusual challenge, and I would have it there even with no theme in mind.

On the reveal count: fewer stars shown at the start raises your potential ending balance, so it’s a deliberate risk/reward lever for players chasing a higher ceiling.

Thanks for playing!
