This is awesome! I am amazed at how in-depth this game was given the scope of the jam. I really liked the controls, it was intuitive and simple to understand. I liked the music, the intro cutscene, and I really liked the snail too. Super cute theme. The animations were stunning as well. Amazing job!!!!!!

Developer

thanks for playing & your kind words ^^

Such a great game! Got me on the edge of my seat when i saw the water starting to rise quicker and quicker and the little alien didnt want to level out quick enough lol. Amazing job on this!

Yessss, these are the moments we love! It's so hype. Really fun to watch people play this game, the whimsical panic is so funny. Glad you enjoyed it <3

Everything in your game is well-made and polished. I especially liked the level design, everything fits the Jam's theme perfectly. I hope you win!

Note: These snowmen are going to give me nightmares tonight.

Developer

thanks for playing :D

the snowmen piss me off so bad but they add so much so i can't hate them </3

This is incredible for a gamejam. Artsyle, mechanics, theme and audio are all top level. Great job!

This is a masterpiece. At first, I was mad that checkpoints weren’t at the end of every level, but then I realized it just made me spend more time with this work of art. You’ve got a killer team on your hands. Keep them coming!

Crazy good game to make in only a week! Loved the different characters introduced every other rooms and the variety in puzzles. My only ""complaint"" is that it can sometimes be a bit triggering having to wait for things in a game that's stressful, so waiting for red/gree light or the glorp cat to move while also waiting for the plant to grow can be a little frustrating at times. Other than that I think the game is perfect!

This game really blew me away! 5's across the board for all categories and I wish I could rate higher. I loved the art, the music, the theme, the sillyness (i mean seriousness), it was really a pleasure to play through all the levels.

Above all that, the game mechanics themselves are the stars of the show. The way y'all took simple individual puzzles and added such depth to all of them by making them interact with one another through spinning was genius in my opinion. It was a perfect combination of quick thinking, being quick with your mouse, and problem solving. I had a lot of trouble once the snowman and rat puzzles started showing up, but it was rewarding to keep trying.

Overall super creative game and submission! I've never made a puzzle game and I really like the line of thinking you shared with one of the comments below about thinking through contradictions, so thank you for that as well.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing :)

5 STARS EVERYWHERE, I was distracted by banger music the whole time DDDD:

Highest I rated so far, ngl. I wish you answer me, coz I wanted to do puzzle game as well, how did you come out to do smart puzzle game like this? Like how to do puzzle game for a game that is smart?

Developer(+1)

Thank you!!

I think one way to approach puzzle design is to design around two naturally contradictory things, since this can quite quickly turn into complexly coupled mechanics. In our case, the initial pitch for the game was "Each doohickey can be solved by rotating its orientation on the vault, but by doing this you also rotate all other doohickeys, potentially unsolving them." Then from there it was just experimenting to see what specific mechanics would lean into that idea the best!

But that's just a rough outline of how we designed this game, there are countless ways to go about it :)

This is a really, really fun game. The simple premise building up with multiple different mini puzzles having to be juggled to get through each progressive door was really fun. I felt like there was a huge difficulty spike after one of the last(?) checkpoints with just a snowman picture, when the water just rises rapidly - but it was really fun even then, and I think I might be coming back to this one.

There was so much content and polish in this, with everything from the visuals to the sound effects oozing charm. The alien in a pod was a great addition, the sound design for that lil' fella was brilliant. The music was well chosen, not too flashy but not too subtle, and the compounding small spin mechanics quickly made for hectic but fun puzzle-solving shenanigans. Each bit was simple on it's own, and the implicit tutorials for each one are equally well done so that when they're all combined, it's not overwhelming - it's just the right amount of stress.

It was a blast to play.

Developer(+1)

It wasnt chosen but self made! It has a bunch of custom layers to it too to keep the music progressing intensely!

Submitted

I noticed - apologies, when I said chosen I meant the direction it was taken in was very fitting. It was really well composed and very fitting.

Amazing! All and all a very polished experience, I love how the experience got multiplicatively harder once you had to juggle multiple win conditions... The animations were super polished, love the audio (and the tensiony parts)

Overall really had some trouble on the reversed controls and the dizzy guy... Gahh. Great game design!

Brilliant stuff, really made me feel like a master safe-cracker while remaining very serious at all times.

The amount of stress gained from seeing the water build up is nerve-racking. Well done on the game, folks! It is excellently designed and put together. As someone else mentioned, my only issue is the in-game progress. I would like some indication that I am near the end; otherwise, it starts to seem endless after a certain point.

Well done guys! 🌊

Simple yet in depth minigames, I could sit here for hours playing this. This is a master class in game design, so simple yet so complex. The art is cutesy and perfectly conveys what its supposed to, the minigames are obvious to play but together make for really challenging levels, the sound design is ON point ( my favourite is the alien in the tube ). Had to make myself stop from playing to try others!

Developer (1 edit)

Such kind words! Thanks for playing.

I'm glad to hear that the visuals communicate intentions well, it's something I tried to focus on.

I agree regarding the sound design, Zucchini cooked with those. It was so satisfying putting the art into the the game then playing again with the new SFX.

really good. playing on a trackpad i was especially STRESSING out but loved every second.

Developer

You are very brave, that can't been easy! Glad you had a good time <3

I hated the part where it was so good my wife left me for the developer.

10/10 would play again.
