Very creatively executed rhythm game! There is potential for something more here!

very very cool :D, lovely art, cute racoon , cool music and interesting take on the theme i love it

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! will try your game out too!

LOVE IT. The theme was SUPER SMART, and you got me a grown ass man pretending to be a DJ because hand placement makes you indeed feel like a DJ LOL, that was so clever.

I REALLY liked the concept of spinning directions for a rythm game, sadly in the practice, you can pretty much skip it all by just wiggling the mouse. Though I did achieve only rank D, so I'm assuming direction does matter for score.

And just for being picky, I can agree that perhaps a more breathing room to see the tutorial would had worked better! The tutorial itself is well explained buuut, as it appears just once the game start, reading it while you are already failing, even if there is no stakes, is a bit frustrating. (just a bit)

Consider a full post-jam release!! I'd love to see more!

Developer

Amazing comment and feedback! I love a detailed comment! Glad you enjoyed it and for sure, we would have loved to create a proper tutorial but we did everything super last minute and just didn't have the time haha

Submitted(+2)

love it, great music and very intuitive. i do suc at the game though :P

Developer(+1)

Reggie disagrees, you don't suck at game! game sucks at you>:(!

Submitted(+1)

Love the art style and the music is great. I wish it taught you a bit more how to play before throwing you straight in. Took me over halfway through the song to figure out how to hit notes (could be skill issue that I didn't read but I didn't see the text box in the bottom right, and even after I didn't fully know what it meant until a bit of trial and error). But nonetheless, I love the concept and Reggie is adorable

Developer(+1)

Reggie thanks you for playing! yea I wish I had time to make a tutorial but it was super last minute haha

Submitted(+1)

Wow, that was really cute and enjoyable! I absolutely suck at rhythm games but thankfully I didn't have to be good and was allowed to just wave the turn table for funsies :) Really vibey song as well. I think you guys did amazing, especially in such a short time period! Awesome job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Also Reggie doesn't think you suck at rhythm games,

Submitted(+1)

Pretty simple - but fun. Great aesthetics.

Developer

Great now you made my artist blush

Submitted(+1)

I like the concept! In practice I was quite confused about which way I needed to spin the track. It kind of seemed like it didn't really matter which way I spinned it, just that I was spinning the record at all when the arrows came. The art was very cute tho and the music was fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing! ah yes I wish we could have implemented a tutorial to explain better but you are supposed to spin in the direction of the arrow, so if the arrow points down then you spin down

Submitted(+1)

Awesome art! I liked the neon colors paired with the DJ!

Developer

Reggie appreciates the compliments

Was very surprised there weren't more DJ games this jam. Also, I didn't realize you only spent 12 hours on this until I read the description. Awesome amount of polish for something made in such a short amount of time!
I do have to ask though, does the direction you spin the disk matter or just the direction you move the mouse? Like, what if I spin the disk sideways?

Developer

Thanks for playing and the kind comments! Yes! The direction matters, if its a down arrow, you have to spin down and the same goes for up arrows. if it is both at the same time, then you have to go up and down quickly .

Submitted

Right, I was wondering if you ever experimented with making it so the notes corresponded to rotating the disk clockwise and counterclockwise instead of the mouse up and down? That's closer to how a turntable actually works in real life, although I imagine it may make the UI a little less intuitive.

Developer

Sorry I was clear in my reply haha, spin down actually works by moving the disc anti clockwise and spin up is clockwise.
