Awesome retro vibes... I went retro too! I'm terrible a horror games but really well done on the theme and the crank the device to light it up was a really good idea on theme
this has great atmosphere and some very unique elements that could make it a super interesting horror game if you expand on it!! there's a lot of potential here, so you definitely should!
some ideas for improvements include: adjusting the text in-game so that its easier to read, keeping the flashlight lit up for a bit longer so players get more time between mashing right click (which will probably get uncomfy as the game progresses). i also think introducing the monkeys one at a time and/or clarifying their mechanics in-game could be beneficial in helping players finish the game!
tysm! Your feedback means a lot to us, all your critiques are completely valid and shared by many players- we completely agree and wish we could’ve delivered on them better before the deadline. The time and effort taken to write this honest constructive criticism is not unnoticed, so thank you! <3
Thank you for playing <3
This was one of the strongest horror games I’ve played in the jam. The atmosphere, visuals, and audio are seriously well done, and the crank/spin flashlight mechanic is a really creative use of the theme. Having multiple monsters that react to different parts of the gameplay made everything feel way more tense and gave the game a lot more depth than I expected.
I didn’t manage to beat it, but I kept wanting to try again. My only real feedback is that the text can be a bit hard to read sometimes, and the difficulty/balance could maybe be tuned a little, especially when trying to crank boxes while being chased. But overall this has huge potential and feels like something streamers would love. Amazing work!
tysm! Yes you’re completely right about the text and the balancing, we hoped to balance it better but we failed due to the time and some incompetence- it was our first time making an AI in a game. Thank you so much for your feedback and we are really happy you enjoyed the game :D <3
the only horror what's really making frickin sceare... yo, congratulation, the Audio is done in the peerfect way, and that's interesting to have to spin for light, pretty good job, can u test mine ? :)
Cranked and wasnt sure who to crank at! I deff need to spend more time learning the audio cues and stuff, but surley see what potential this game has! Lots to manage and keeps the freights hi! Thanks for submitting and hanging in the livestream!!
MY NEW FAVOURITE ONE. It's crazy you managed to create it in 7 days. It's one of the most creative indie horror games I've ever played and it has crazy amounts of potential for a popular youtuber to play it or something. The graphics and sound design are CRAZY GOOD. I love the art direction and it adds a lot of creepy factor. My best score after around 30 minutes spent in this game was 3 keys, something always got me on that last one. "Speak no evil" is probably my favourite one of these three, it's so stressful listening for that sound cue and turning around to see it right behind you! "See no evil" was pretty easy for me to avoid honestly, I've barely encountered it at all, maybe thanks to just moving fast most of the time. "Hear no evil" however... this one is tough. Hard to get him off your tail and he always catches up to me when I'm cranking a box. ANYWAY! This is the best game I've played during this jam so far. AMAZING. Huuuuge potential to go viral, you have to try to get someone to play it on stream or on youtube or something. CONGRATS!!! I followed and I'm looking forward to any of your future projects. And I hope you polish this one, maybe balance out the difficulty, add a bigger map with more POIs.
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this. It genuinely means a lot to us, and we're really happy you enjoyed the game!
Thanks for the follow and for all the kind words and suggestions. We'll definitely keep them in mind if we continue working on it.
Thanks for playing! ❤️
Thank you so much, this genuinely means a lot to us. A lot of hours went into this game daily to make that 7 day deadline ^^
We’re so happy you enjoyed it so much, we hope we can satisfy again with our next game!
and if you have any streamer/yt friends by chance we’d love our game recommended to them haha! But again, thank you! <3
Super cool idea! Having to manage your flashlight and be carful how much sound you make is a cool mechanic. I loved the visuals as well but at times it was hard to read the text.
First horror game I played for this jam! I'm not used to playing horror games so I was spooked when the creatures popped up while trying to crank up the box. I tried getting the second key without dying a few times but I'm too scared. I can see this more fleshed out in the future, great job!
This was the first horror game I've played this jam and it did not disappoint! It gives me Slenderman vibes but with more content to do and more monsters to manage. It was cool that you created 3 unique enemies that are all triggered by different parts of gameplay, it made it feel more intense and more scary. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the end, but I did get 3 keys after a few tries! Great work!
Great attempt! We’re so happy and flattered :D Thank you for playing! <3
A really great horror game, the dynamo-powered lighting mechanic is really cool! I really liked the atmosphere and the fact that there are different types of monkeys! The sound design is great, too! Excellent game!
Tysm!! honestly it was inspired by an older horror game’s flashlight mechanic (tattletail) We’re happy you enjoyed it!
wow VERY laggy on browser - be sure to remember performance on web lol
Slowly Gathered all the keys then died to a twig because I didn't read the description ;-;
Very good game, love the post-processing effect, gives it a very unique look. I like how it is hard to see very far away. Atmosphere is well done and listening is super important. Appreciate not having obnoxiously loud jumpscares! Good job!
Good attempt!! you did way better than most people hahaha. We very much appreciate it, thank you for playing! <3 (im trying out your game rn)
i might need to see a trusted adult after playing this game(hehe) really nice game loved the horror theme good work
Really cool mechanic of spinning to stuff to open and use it. I was not a fan of pixalation of text. Also count finish the game and the tutorial as well (couldnt find the second key)
Very cool! First horror i played here and it did not dissapoint, the monsters are very well made:D
Atmosphere made me scare. Personally i don’t like this kind of game but your game do it good. sfx, mechanic is good. well done!
The ambience and visuals are on-point!
Very beautiful graphics and challenging gameplay. Definitely one of the best horror games i have ever played
Love the graphics! its crazy you've been able to make them this good in 7 days! it scared the shit out of me! haven't beaten it yet, but i'll try harder ahah
Tysm!!
Best of luck :]
Great ambience! Definitely comes across as a retro-ish horror game and I enjoyed it a lot. Though it is an amazing idea, I would like to see it more fleshed out. Due to the time restraints I'm sure you guys could only do so much but making some additions to the monster chasing you would be super beneficial. Again great game, you guys expressed what the game should be very well and it's done well. Also mechanics like the light needing to be rotated is very creative. Awesome job!
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed it and honoured that a developer of how the turntables played and enjoyed our game ^^
We loved your game!
