cool game i really liked the visuals of it and the gameplay was smooth
i was doing great until my cat jumped on my keyboard and got me killed lol
good job making this beautiful game :)
This was really cool! The movement felt really nice, it was at a good speed and the acceleration/deceleration was tuned just right imo. I think the biggest problem I had was that the shooting felt a little bit off, the main reason why probably being that reloading takes a very long time. With how often you have to do so, it kinda makes it feel like most of the game is waiting around until I can shoot again, and I'd rather just be able to shoot more often. You can always tweak other things to make the game harder if you feel shortening it would make it too easy. I also would have liked a special sound for when you try to shoot with an empty cylinder, as well as some UI indicator to show how many shots you have left, as I was a little confused at first why I couldn't shoot anymore until I thought to try reloading with R. Maybe it would be nice too if trying to shoot with an empty cylinder just automatically started the reload, that's a pretty common quality of life thing in games. Also, I don't know if there's any input buffering on the shooting, but it didn't feel like it, and that would help with the feel quite a bit too. As a composer and an audio nerd, I loved the music and the sound design, the tone was perfect for the game. The art was fantastic too! Great job :)
One of my favorites I've played!! Love the concept and how you can shoot enemies and yourself, I was originally annoyed that you had to right click to pull up your ammo, but it works well because you need to really stay conscious of what bullet is next so you don't heal the enemies. Very interesting! Presentation is awesome too, just wish there were more levels maybe? Or more of a roguelike structure
Feedback is satisfying and gameplay and controls feels really good. Also great art! I am usually very bad at these kinds of games but I at least had a lot of fun here due to the controls still feeling like I was in control instead of battling me. :D
I am a bit fed up with revolver games by now though, but that's not your fault. Had I tried yours sooner I'd probably be more engaged with the idea. :D
But all in all, a very nice submission - good work!
Healed enemies, then damaged self, I'm so good at this game. The game was fast enough to make me mistakenly use my rounds. It was funny and pretty creative. And I really like the character design. But sometimes the enemy spawned without warning, and the surprise bomb went off just by player running pass the door.
Ok, couldn't get past the first level, it is a simple shoot them out game with a small twist with loadouts and different bullets.
I guess the obvious stuff is that the level and art and sound are good. Pretty well done or unqiue for the character and theme.
I think what this game needs is a bar to display your bullet load out as well as how many u got left. Abit too chaotic to not know what you gonna shoot or when u need to reload.
Edit: Ok, I got what u were trying to do with the lucky spin. It's a cool mechanic, but there's some improvement needed. Rather than having it open and block the screen, have the revolver be on the right side and then right click and spin. U might have to iron out some balance issues from that though.
This game really has potential to be a thing! But there are some things i wish the game could have, like seeing your current bullet on screen, and a dodge button would feel really nice in this type of game, and this could be only me, but the game is too hard, the enemy that charges on you is really hard and the bullets don't do enough damage to compensate the hard enemy. But besides that, i can really see it being a game on steam!!!
The controls felt great, but I wish I could see my currently equipped bullet without pressing right click. In such a fast paced game, I simply didn’t feel I had the time to open a seperate menu to select the best bullet for my situation, which seems like what you were going for. Also, the visuals sort-of felt all over the place? The character sprite, enemy sprites, and the background/ui elements all felt like they belonged to different games.
player controller felt really smooth real cool
Unique idea. Rad soundtrack!
The posing for the mc is awesome, I love her design. The spin the revolver mechanic also feels very good to execute and its super unique! You landed on a very fun and unique gameplay idea. I would have loved to see a system with different mechanics supporting the random roll of the revolver drum.
I'm also curious about the intent behind the healing bullets. I understand they just heal enemies, which is kinda bad when you are trying to kill them. Are they broken or are they meant to be a "bad roll" on the revolver?
The game was awesome and its very nice that you added a save state to the game. I wanted to test some things to write this comment and having my progress saved was a good surprise (extra points on the rating for that!)
Thanks so much, glad you liked the game! Actually for the healing bullets, you can shoot yourself with them (with middle click or the F button). Sorry if that wasn't clear, we ran out of time for a tutorial 😅
Ok that makes that makes the game so much better! Should have read the description for the game... My bad. I like the russian roulette dynamic of hoping for a heal when you need it and then getting blown up by an explosive bullet!
very cool game. the few things id love to add would be also showing the bullets left in the holster if you have more then 6 aswell as marking the levels already completed.. but all in all this is a very great game!
I like what I played. The sound effects make actions feel really good.
I love the art, and the gameplay is some of my favorite in the entire jam. My only issue is that i wish the buttons were mapped a little better, middle clicking when on browser would trigger the automated scrolling and would constantly get my game stuck and lead me to take unnecessary damage. I love the spinning mechanic but i feel like it’d have been better if there was a keybind to pull up the bullets as a toggle rather than holding right click as it made it feel a bit annoying and hard to keep track of what im trying to do
The visual is amazing, though, it seems to me that it's worth giving a little more resources at the beginning, but it really looks great and fun
Really cool idea! I think the game would benefit from a clear tutorial section to help players understand the mechanics. Overall, great job!
Very smooth controls and love the art!
CRAZY GREAT GAME! I went in a bit of a similar direction Idea wise, but your implementation was suuuuper different from mine, great art, and great game!
Wow! Between the character design, UI, and color choices, the art-style has a ton of appeal. The gameplay is smooth and reactive. The one thing I would have liked is to be able to see the revolver chambers at all times, that way I could plan my shots. I understand that sorta takes away from the point, though, so I don’t mean that as criticism. Nice job!
I adore the key-art. Fun movement and gameplay. And the banger music was the perfect fit.
