I love the idea ! Clearly as you stated it's not finished but I love what you came up with !
waiting for the update now :)
This was a cool idea. The world setup with intriguing and feels like something you could play around with more. The reminder that those back home can help with the war even if they aren't actively in combat was nice. I loved the shoulder dragon. It was a great bit of world building. It feels like you could add more to this, more materials to spin from, more news reports, and such, if you wanted to continue building this out.
The mechanics were a little confusing. The directions say to press and hold Space, but I found that I had to keep pressing Space to keep the wheel spinning. Playing around with it, I think I was suppose to press and hold Space to give the wool a twist, then press and hold again for each additional twitch I wanted to give the wool, but it wasn't super clear. The way you were suppose to work with the hand was also not very clear. At first I held it and moved it back and forth, but it wasn't adding the thread to the bobbin. It took me a bit to realize I was suppose to click and hold, move it to the bobbin, and then let go of the mouse to wind it. I think having clearer instructions would really help.
Excellent visuals and super creative idea
The visuals are very nice. As some other people pointed out, I was a bit confused at first but got the hang of it. If you do end up updating it, a mini tutorial would be helpful.
I like the idea of incorporating a straight forward mechanic! handrawn art looks very nice!
I really loved the visuals! Very peaceful and relaxing, the gameplay kind of confused me but that was more on me. Overall very enjoyable!
Very nice drawings and enjoyable simulation feel
I really love how relaxing this game is. The artstyle is also neat and I love it! As someone who hasn't spun a wool before, it also confusing at first on how to play it, but I figured it out a few tries later. This is a creative and unique spin for the theme. Same with the previous comment, a bit more audio feedback would be good. Also, a tutorial mode would also be helpful as a first time wool spinner.
Overall, it was a great game! Good job and congratulations! I'm looking forward to your game updates soon!
Initially I was pretty confused about how to play and what made it good quality but I think I got it after I finished playing through it. I did find myself getting into a rhythm and it felt pretty satisfying, I do wish there was a bit more audio feedback however. the art style and general tone is really pleasant and I like the historical setting, good job!
I really like the tone you set here.
The art style is absolutely incredible! Don't think I've seen that mashup of history and fantasy before so A+ there! I'm a big fan of clicker games so this puts an interesting spin on the idea.
I have spun wool before in real life. I thought this was very charming.
Thanks for sharing your idea! I definitely think it was one worth sharing. My main bit of feedback is that I was a bit confused while I played. I haven't spun wool before, so I didn't know when it looked correct, nor did I know how to refresh the wool once I had finished with a thread - I spent multiple rounds with no length of wool spun at all 😅. I also definitely forgot that Hayes asked for 3 lengths of wool, so I provided him 2 perfect lengths only for him to tell me it wasn't good enough - maybe something on the screen reminding me of how much I need to spin and at what quality would be helpful.
Are you able to hold down spacebar to spin the wheel, or did I need to mash it? I thought it was the latter, which definitely started tiring out my arm.
I loved the aesthetic! I got excited when the unicorn wool showed up, and I'd love to see how other wools play out.
Thanks for the feedback! I definitely had a hard time with writing the instructions to be short and still somewhat understandable. I added instructions to the description, hopefully they will be helpful.
You need to mash the spacebar. I intended it to need a slow and steady holding and pressing motion (resembling pedaling a real spinning wheel), but it could also be that your keyboard acted a bit differently.
That makes so much sense! I was thinking it was either "mash as fast as I can" or "hold it." The idea of doing it slow and steady fits a lot better, and it feels nicer too. Thanks for explaining!
