really cool aesthetics! I enjoyed the mystery, but I could not solve it to the end, as when you get to the screen(s) where you have to say what you are noticing, I tried so many words and could not figure out which it is to inspect the items in the room, some kind of clue would be helpful. Like is it case sensitive, one word, so on and so forth. Also the fact that you can die for revisiting the past too many times feels like cheap tension, or at least I don't see the point of having such a limit. I can't wait for the next parts though!
Thanks for the feedback! I tried to make the inputs fairly flexible (like for most of them, as long as the input includes a certain word like paper, book, etc it works) but yeah, you can't always predict what words people will use, so I'm trying to go for a more point-and-click style. As for dying for going to the past too often, it can be avoided as long as one visits the windmill often enough! I tried to hint at that when you visit the past and Ferris' note says his childhood memories with the tulips helped ease his mind. You can say it's there for lore reasons rather than tension-building I suppose? I definitely plan to explore the side-effects and why they happen more in upcoming parts.
Well, I haven't solved this one yet, but I the visuals were fantastic and the concept was really neat.
I don't typically play games like this, but if you continue to tinker with it, it would be nice to have visual indicators of the dialogues I've already selected as well as a notebook to remember what I've learned. It's hard for me to remember who I talked to and what to go back and see, so I found myself just clicking through options one after another to try to find that bit of dialogue I almost (but didn't quite) remember.
Again, really standout visuals and hand-crafted sets, and just some great work on the story. I've got this one on my replay list to try to solve this mystery.
Thank you so much!! Huh, it didn't occur to me to have an "already done" visual indicator, I'll keep that in mind! And it would be interesting to see how I could implement a note-taking feature, allowing you to jot down whatever you want. Interesting! I'm glad you liked the visuals and the story, and thanks for the feedback!
Very good Story Writing. I definitly want to find out the next part. The Visuals are also very good. I also like the conecpt of the Time Travel a lot.
Only had a few Problems sometimes with trying to figure out, what I need to enter in the Textbox, to open the next Text (Seriously, what do I need to enter for the scissors?)
Apart from that I still managed to get to the end and enjoyed every part of it :D
Thank you so much!! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And the scissors was just "scissors". There's nothing else for that one, not "bloody scissors" or anything, just scissors. (I ran back to my code to make sure I didn't make a spelling mistake and thankfully I didn't lmao) I'm definitely trying to find better ways of presenting my puzzles going forward though, cuz definitely an open-ended textbox can be rough.
ok, apparently i was just stupid or too incompetent to write "scissors" xD
Thanks for the Reply :D
This was amazing! I loved the art, the mix of regular photos, miniatures, paper craft, digital art, was all really charming and created such a unique style. The mystery was engaging and the difficulty of the puzzles felt fair and fitting- it felt like a more natural piecing together of clues rather than some of the more convoluted puzzles that are often in mystery/investigation games. Really enjoyed this and looking forward to seeing how you continue it!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
Very cute - I really liked that the environment was made from real world objects.
Some small movements/stopmotion on screen would have been a really nice touch, but overall a neat little game, well done.
Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it! And yeah I did have movement as sort of a "stretch goal" in mind if I had time, so that's something I wanna try adding in going forward.
