It was fun. Good job!
This was incredibly fun to play! The difficulty progression was really fair throughout the different waves and the concept led to a very easy to understand but difficult (& rewarding) gameplay loop which I enjoyed quite a lot. The only issue I had was that the mana sword seemed a bit bugged because at some point it wasn't giving me an opportunity to attack, but beyond that this was a lot of fun!
Very simplistic gameplay with a lot of depth to master! I really liked each of the weapons and how some of them changed the stakes of missing other than just losing a combo. Would love to see more weapons, and maybe a small indicator of the spin pattern of the weapon when the player mouses over it you can remember what kind of pattern it is since once I got to later enemies I couldn't remember what each weapon did sometimes. Loved the music and the sound effects really adding to feel. The lore bits were also a good read. All in all a great submission! Would love to see this expanded further!
this one is very cool. I would play a longer version of it with better balancing and faster pacing. Good job!
Reminds me a lot of Undertale, and also the amount of skill to use some of the weapons. It was incredibly cool, also was kind of a rythm game! Good Game!
Very very cool game!
I really like the overall vibe of it. I like that it is turned based but still it has a skill aspect to it. Twin blade was my favorite and could kill most of the common mobs with it during only one turn. I wish lifesteal had a bigger impact on the gameplay. I choose it 3 times and I don't think I have healed much.
Great job!
I really enjoyed it! Addictive and easy to learn, wheel spinning feature is really nice: it brings feeling of "battle rhythm" and creatively mixes turn-based and real-time mechanics
I came to play this game because I saw you leaving detailed reviews for other games, and I came to your game because I felt you deserved the same. What I did not expect was for it to become my favorite game of the jam so far.
This is the only game so far that has me going, okay I REALLY wish there was more of it. The idea of different weapons having different attack wheels, the wheel speed getting faster as you build up combos is absolutely brilliant. The Twinblades are what hooked me completely. The game also has great polish and player feedback.
I do have some suggestions/improvements.
- There seems to be a bug where the attack wheels start going blank so you cannot attack anymore, I had to quit out of my game because of that.
- It would have been amazing to have a defensive/parry wheel for when the enemies attack, that would have made the combat so much more engaging, and perhaps if some enemy would want to land combos, there would be different patterns on the enemy wheels and so on. Maybe if you develop the game further.
In any case, I hope you develop the game further as I personally really enjoyed it as I am a huge fan of Clair Obscure Expedition 33, and it bits and pieces, this game reminded me of that.
Absolutely phenomenal, great job!
Hello, thank you for the detailed review!
Parries are actually one of my priorities for future updates as I do intend for this to be a long-term project.
Thank you for mentioning this game! I have no idea what Clair Obscure Expedition 33 is, but I looked at it briefly and I think it'll be helpful for potential inspiration.
OH AND PLEASE ANSWER IF YOU'D LIKE -> Could you tell me what enemy you were fighting, and maybe what you did when you experienced the glitch with the wheel? It was an old bug I thought I fixed but I guess I didn't lmao.
Yes, it was the green looking thing with a flower on it's head.
Very fun and well designed game.
The juice from clicking multiple times is insanely good. Has a lot of potential!
very cool attack system! as someone who plays a lot of dead by daylight, i felt so skilled at this one, especially with the twinblades it felt so good to hit on time one after another. also instantly recognized the azali music, good stuff!
Very nicely done! My only critique is that it might be fun to have different backgrounds, maybe something going on, but gameplaywise this is quite a fun game!
This game is amazing, polish the graphics, add some more upgrades and items, and you already have a fun endless game that I could play for hours!
Really cool combat system and I can see it getting even more fun with minimal polish. Only thing it needs is knowing what the enemies, and weapon interactions prior to combat and of course some visual "juice".
Cool combat system, pretty fun to play with.
I don't like turn-based combat games a lot, but here it was pretty fun :)
One of the best idea i've seen so far ! I'd really love to see this expended into a full demo, and it reminded me of games like undertale or old school rpgs. Congrats!
holy spin, good demo felt decently balanced between difficulty and fun I would definitionally like to see more weapons, enemies and bosses using this concept. The weapon progress was good although I'm still unsure on how I feel about the after battle rewards as dodge chance is simply the best. Good job!
Really nice game. It has a lot of potential and decision making. The fire boss was really fun and almost got me. The combo mechanic really makes it more enjoyable. The tier 2 weapons that i got to choose seemend a lit bit to hard to use, but overall really good game with good art. The music was very nice and a good match for the game. Nice done!
