Add a grapple hook to any game and you'll win me over

Nice work. I wish the swinging physics had a bit more potential for swinging really hard and flying off, but it was still very fun. Nice work, it's rare to see linear experiences with proper level design like this in a jam. Keep making games!

Grapple hooks are my jam. They're quite fun to implement!
And yeah, I got a couple Newton's First Law violation complaints from my friends as well when they played this game, the tight control scheme had to sacrifice the fun of momentum in the process, unfortunately. Thanks very much!

Had a lot of fun. It's a pretty good platformer; the web mechanics are quite smooth and enjoyable. I wish the game had more mechanics besides the moving platforms and the web itself, but the level design was good, so it’s not a big deal. I’m also not entirely sure how well this game fits the theme, since it’s not exactly a spin.

But in any case, thanks for the game and to Mom for the idea)

Developer

Very cool! Yeah, a lot of this game included a lot of bugs to unpack (moving platforms especially), so that ended up dragging down how much content I could make, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! Also yeah, my approach to the theme was not quite as intuitive or gameplay-oriented (i.e. spin webs to spin the gears of the clock tower to win), so I can see how it might be a bit unsatisfactory, but I enjoyed that spin (hehe) on it.
And you're very welcome! My mom deserves the credit indeed. (Your game was also very good)

This is SO GOOD!! The grappling feels soooo smooth, and the whole idea of it is also sick! I really like how the movement feels though, its so fluid and satisfying

The visuals are also really cool, the whole vibe of the place is amazing

Developer

Thank you very much! The physics were a very fun thing to implement and fine-tune, so I'm thankful they worked out so well! Also the vibes just felt natural with this idea from the get-go. Those were both of the things I tried hardest to pull off, so I'm super glad they worked out!

A fun platformer with a grapple! spinning a web is a neat twist on the prompt and I'm glad some people have done it!The visuals looked pretty and the vibe of it being a solemn climb through a big golden clocktower was pretty sick, I like the setting!

The grappling felt really nice to do, it's a movement that is fun and swingy! I wish there was a bit more momentum to going through it though. I will say that the level design left a bit to be desired, the cycle gameplay felt very sluggish which resulted in the pace of the game feeling like it was dragging a bit. Also I was missing more sound design, but I understand that these things can happen during a crunch! Very cool game you guys put together, I hope you place well in the jam!

Developer

Thanks! I'm super glad you enjoyed the setting, it might be my favorite one I've done for a game so far. Also glad you caught the idea from the theme of the jam, as some others didn't get it quite as much.
And er, yeah, amid some unscrupulous bugs that arose during my time making the levels, I couldn't make them totally polished in the name of having a decent amount of them, so I get how they can be not as satisfactory as desired. Glad the physics were good though, as I spent a few days perfecting them.

The platforming was fun and rewarding. Music was good, and the overall level design was solid. The length of the game was also longer than I expected for a jam which was nice. Shoutout to your mom for the idea. Great job!

Developer

Many Thanks! And yeah my mom had a legendary creative spark for this game indeed...

Thank you, fellow spider enjoyer. And yeah my sister is very pleased since she was the masterclass artist for this.
