The game is a lot of fun, I had a great time with the hand-crafted tutorial. The randomly generated level is also a good time, I was running into cases where it was hard to jump onto the platform below the faucet, because there were platforms directly above it and it was hard to precisely control jump height. Given how the game currently plays, with the ability to jump through platforms, it might be interesting to explore something with the art where the platforms are actually like trasparent blocks of gel that you can stand on, wall jump off of, or if you go through the bottom you end up inside of the block kind of swimming through it. The player reminds me of larry the cucumber, not very serious! Overall nice work!
I am SOOO glad you had lots of fun with it!!!! Yes the randomly generated level still needs some logic work to make sure checkpoints and faucets are all accessible, so thank you for pointing that out. For the art, I was originally thinking of like going through taller and taller things (so starting with like a town, then city, then mountain, then like space. But the ability to jump through blocks never made sense for that. So I really like your idea of the art directly showing that, like with 'slime' blocks. I appreciate all the feedback!!!
neat if somewhat minimalist game, and the "lol" for drowning is a fun detail, but i'm not sure what it has to do with the theme?
I appreciate the feedback! And thank you VERY VERY much for noticing the "lol" for drowning. That was actually what started this game idea. The spin to win is met with those faucets you have to spin to finish the level. (Which would be used more in the future with additional levels other than the tutorial level!)
oh, my apologies, i never got to the final valve and thought the level ended earlier with a dead end, now i see it!
it turns out i have a fancy 180hz monitor and the game physics are tuned for 60hz and break at higher refresh rates, so the really long jumps don't work unless i switch the monitor to 60hz.
and yeah of course, that made me chuckle when i first saw it, it was so unexpected! by the way, have you seen this sign?
Thanks for figuring that out, I'll have to update that somehow so physics don't break depending on what you're playing on! I have not seen that sign, THAT IS AMAZING!!!
Well executed platformer. I don't know what it has to do with this game jam's theme. I see it's been submitted to several jams. I don't think that's a good way to build up good will, because it feels a little spammy. Would've been great to see what you can do with this jam's theme!
Thanks for playing! The spin to win is connected to the faucets to win the level (which turns off the water rising), but more levels are needed. As for the 'spammy' of my game submission, it was my first game and I was looking for as much feedback as possible. But I agree, I think it won't be something I'll be doing as much in the future. I appreciate your feedback!
Yo I enjoyed it a lot keep up the good work
I appreciate it, thanks a ton for playing! = )
