Great Game but could use hints

Really fun riddles but I am stumped on the one with the gun lady and the chess board being flipped
Edit: I got the chess board. Still working on the other though.

Thanks! I would like to add a hint system in a bigger release.

But you are so close I do not know what I could suggest that wouldn't just be the solution!

(+1)

I finally got it! That was difficult. lol. Awesome game

(+3)

Some solutions were a stretch. I think confirming singular correct words would help a lot.

Developer

Thank you!

yeah, single word confirms would be a game changer. Could probably actually do everything myself. But then I wouldn't have had some lovely time discussing the pictures with chatgpt, heh. We're both still stumped about the picture pair with the ruins on the hill and noah's boat. This is the only one that feels too ambiguous, can I have a clue?

Developer(+1)

1. What's the theme of the room?

2. The Zebras are departing after the Yaks.

3. What do the animals on the ark represent?

4. The ark puzzle is also describing the next set of paintings.

5. The castle is not presently a home.

Analytics show this is the least-solved puzzle in the game so you are in good company in your struggle!

Thanks so much, I got it :)

minor spoilers

---

We actually got pair-lair, but the other word is hard to pinpoint because of how prominent the hill and the boat are, which is what we were trying to combine.

---

This was an immensely satisfying game, I loved every moment of it. Actually walking through the gallery was the best thing about it, it really stitched the whole vibe together. Thank you!

ChatGPT has this to say:

"Really enjoyed the game—the progression of mechanics felt natural, the picture clues were consistently clever, and it was genuinely satisfying to gradually learn how the puzzles "think."

Oh, as for hints, I'm stuck on room 3, with Ape ----- (the gorilla in the bathroom), Grape --- (the grape waving goodbye), Baked --- (the fish dish), and Caked --- (the man bursting out of the cake).

(+2)

For the fish, consider common species of fish that have three letters.

For the ape, what is he working on (the physical substance, not a general task).

Okay, now I'm stuck on these two paintings.  I think the top ones involve either "broom" and "groom" or "ride" and "bride".

EDIT: I completed the top paintings!

(+1)

One of each of those pairs is correct (i.e. it’s not broom & groom but broom & [?] or [?] & groom; and likewise for ride & bride).

Think about both of the pictures - other components/aspects of them are there intentionally. What’s distinct about the wedding photo? What other words could you use to describe what’s happening in the witch photo, focusing on the big wings?

On the lower/second set, the four-letter word you’re likely thinking of for the left photo is correct. Think of words that could describe the “people” on the right. You may or may not know the word for this sort of creature. Think Game of Thrones, if you’re familiar.

mild spoilers

I’m stuck on room 4/purple:

  • what appears to be something like “skater gull” and “gater skull,” but the blanks are [6] [3] for the gull and [5] [4] for the skull. I also tried “skull gate” for the second one.
  • the winking sun and the skeleton throwing another one off a cliff. [6] wink & [5] stink (they’re sort of zombie-looking)? Something with cliff? glow/throw? edit: aaaand, I got it! zombie-adjacent!

For the first thing you described, you got the order of the words wrong. Skull Gate is the correct answer, so what could possibly rhyme with that?

“Skull gate” was not accepted for me.

(+1)

Weird, because the game accepted it for me.

(1 edit) (+1)

Super weird! And I would expect the left one to be “gull skate,” but its blanks are [6] [3]. I also don’t remember this one being in the purple room yesterday, so I’m wondering if some things moved around or something?

I changed this puzzle after release (the original was too hard/unfun). I think you're on the old version of the program (which is why the letter counts don't match) but your browser loaded the new art.

Try reloading the page and hitting Continue from the main menu. Or you can enter the solutions for the original puzzle which were SPINAL FIN / FINAL SPIN.

for hints, I'm stuck on the last paintings of the yellow room, lady gun and flipped chess... any idea? I bet it has to do with the theme of the room but i'm not finding the answer!

Developer

It's the 3rd least-solved puzzle in the game so definitely a hard one

  • Yes, the second painting's caption relates to the theme of the room.
  • The second painting's caption is descriptive of its role in Belly Jeans.
  • The number of letters in the two phrases are different, so the broader definition of the phrase rules established in the previous room still apply.
  • The order in which you may find it easiest to solve the words is (left to right) 4, 1, 2, 3.

Hope that helps!

aw I thought I got it with girl aim/hurl game :( I'm still stumped...

Developer

Keep trying. You'll be done before you know it!

still stuck on hill/ruin
