The game is lots of fun and amazingly well polished. This feels too good for a game jam game. Very impressed
Very beautiful and clever game. I enjoyed the chill vibes and figuring out the puzzles! The Invert Camera setting didn't work for me, so the pitch control felt weird the whole time, but really no biggie. Nice job!
Glad you liked it! :) I tried to be clever and make it so that the invert automatically configured itself in the first level but its clearly some issues there to iron out still.
The file is a bit too much which could be the reason it is not getting attention
Yeah, pretty sure I used the wrong packaging type for Unreal, oh well something to pick up on next time.
Don't give up, we all learn from our mistakes
So I did some digging and turns out the textures I used with the asset pack I got was all 4096 x 4096, shrinking em down and packaging again got it down to under half a gig.
oops! 😭
Ooof
This game has amazing visuals for a game jam game. The main mechanics are fun and the music is nice. Good work!
Glad you liked it!
The moment I heard that little jazz piece I knew I needed to use it lol. :)
File size on this one in future can be chunked down a good bit - just remember to switch to "Shipping" when packaging!
As for the actual game, it's really solid - got a decent premise, and an interesting use of the game jam theme. The core mechanics felt a little slow on the uptake given the spin speeds, but they worked, and the puzzles were interesting to solve and get through, combined wit h the core game loop. I'm a sucker for 3d platformers, and this was a pretty interesting one!
I think the main thing this needs is a lick of polish to really make it shine, and bring it all together. It's got legs - even if the main character doesn't - and could really make for a fun little puzzle platformer.
Thanks for the feedback!
This is my first time packaging with Unreal as I'm more used to Unity with solo projects and I was more focused on getting menus, saves, and the automatic Y axis setting to make the experience smoother overall.
As for the polish, yeah absolutely. I was focused on the functionality of everything first and was saving polish such as niagra for the lightning and throwing arc as pushes but day 1 bug fixes was a priority such as the respawning not working and somehow forgetting to make a restart button. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But I'm glad you found it fun to play 😊
Solid platforming with an interesting use of the "spinning" theme. I really liked how the attract and repel mechanics were integrated. I got stuck on the head throwing level, but that's almost certainly a me problem :P Well done!
Thanks for playing! 😊
Could you tell me what bit of the throwing level was giving you trouble with in general?
I got to the point where there is a small gap between some clipboards and a book that mentions "loosing your footing or dropping to the ground is a good way to lower your height." I figured that I needed to somehow crouch or loose height to get through the space, but couldn't figure it out.
I just now went back and climbed up a book to get behind the troublesome gap. I found the other book that tells you to knock the blocks off the pressure pad, so I just pushed them off and finished the level :). I restarted the level again to figure out what I was supposed to do and finally noticed the small hole in the floor that I'm supposed sink into so that I can throw my head at the blocks on the other side of the gap. Sitting inside the hole was the first time that I noticed the "knock the blocks off" book from this side of the gap. I knew it was a me problem lol, you even have a glowing light coming up through the hole in the floor.
oh, I see thanks for that, glad you sorted it out lol.
