The game is really fun and creative. The graphics look great, and the movement is a lot of fun. Sometimes I got moving so fast that I completely lost control and started crashing into everything, which honestly made it even more fun. Great job!

Love this game!! I really like the blobbiness of the enemies, their animation is super well made! I like the feeling of hitting enemies and building a nice combo between lots, and the payoff of a good spin charge is pretty desirable and satisfying! Fire game!

Thanks a lot for your kind words, I'd rate you back but I don't download any non-web games, I'm sorry for that

Submitted(+1)

Oh no worries! Thanks! If you'd still like to play our game though we made a web build cuz someone else wanted to play it but couldn't download - https://kevinwei.itch.io/detention-bums-web

The charge-up + run-down on the spin mechanic was cool and really kept me in the game. Fun & unique!

Had a blast for a long time!

I've got the meta of the game, waiting for a big group of monster, and charge into them to have a great score hehehe

Movement is quick, concept is great, good work :D

That girl moves fast! I really appreciated that you had both WASD & arrow keys, and the change in music after 20 combo kept me motivated to get to 50.

Developer(+1)

No problem, I am really really glad you like the music, because that is the part I had the most problems with since I just couldn't make it sound right at all with the limited software I had, which really put me down because I love music in video games and was hoping I could also make people like music in mine.

A very simple little game with a great mechanic that rewards taking risks cause the longer you spin, the faster you go and the harder you become to control. The game lacks a lot of polish, but that's to be expected for a game jam game made by a solo dev. Great game!

Cool idea! I wish comboing was a little easier but it's p fun to see big number get bigger.

Submitted(+1)

cool meachanics but i found a bit hard to controls especially when it would bounce back after hitting the enemies...other than that....one last suggestion add a tutorial in game as people tend to not read the description of the game

Submitted(+1)

Creative idea, and overall it was really fun to play. I loved that it wasn't like most survival games and that you actually use yourself as the weapon. It made the gameplay feel unique. Super Cool...

Submitted(+1)

this is fun! very creative theme interpretation, and huge props for making everything yourself!

I think the difficulty is perfectly balanced here which is a really hard thing to get down, especially for a game jam so yeah nice work

Developer(+1)

Thank you, fellow solo dev. I'm glad you find it fair, because I was struggling with figuring out what speeds, sizes and spawn rates should suffice, and whether I should have implemented any power-ups or something that was out of my scope at the time I had left.

Submitted(+1)

I really liked the movement while being in full speed and the idea, but I wish there was a tutorial level for the game before the main thing starts, because I couldn't understand what to do before I read the description.

Developer

Honestly the more games I try out, the more I realize I should have been more instructional in-game too instead of just in the description.

Nice take on a survivors-like game! The mechanic was pretty hard to grasp until I read over the tips in the description - I wonder if it would've been more intuitive if Gale was always spinning (but you still only deal damage if you're going fast enough). Ping ponging between enemies at high speed was great, would've loved controller support for this game particularly, but good job with it! :D

Thank you, the thing is that I don't have a controller of my own to check if it'd be supported correctly, but you're right, it probably would have been nicer to give people a full 360Β° of movement to work with in a game like this.

cool game, it was really fun bouncing into the enemies once i got the hang of it :) losing life for bouncing into the walls sometimes felt a little too punishing after building up all that momentum to fight.

Developer

Alright, thanks for your opinion, I just kept worrying that it'd be way too easy if you can just hang out at the walls and not care about how you bounce off of the enemies, since I encourage staying in the middle and running a lap around them to hit them from another side.

Neat survival game. Simple and straightforward: spin and destory those who got in the way.  The controls have some learning curve too. Pretty fun overall.

This game turned out so cool!!! I love all the enemy types and I still think this has one of the most satisfying spin mechanics in this jam, I just can't stop spinning!!! Spectacular Job!!
