as a game this is fantastic even if simple, you really nailed the 3d controller it is magnificent. my only gripe is that the theme seems a bit of a far fetch. but you did a magnificent job!

Cute idea. I can feel that it's supposed to be a little silly and ridiculous. All things together, it certainly achieves that ^^ I do wanna say the main mechanic for me felt like it was the bouncing higher and higher, not the flipping. Flipping kind of just helped to facilitate bigger bounces. I feel like it would've been cool then to have a wind sound getting louder the faster you move in the air, so that higher bounces feel more impactful.
Also sidenote, Godot can do animation blending. With that the switch between running and standing still could be smoothed out a little. I do like the choppy style though, our game also has poses were the character can move quite quickly between them. Best when it feels consistent through all animations.
Silly little game overall, well done! :)
Thanks, glad you liked it! This is my first time implementing 3D animations and thanks for pointing out godot’s animation blending! I will definitely try making and rigging my own character for my future games and that will help them to feel much more polished!
I’m making a little missile game now so no animations there, but i will definitely make different sounds for going faster or slower!
After hearing the cat meow when double-jumping for the first time, I knew the audio in this game was going to get a 5/5 star rating from me haha I loved this little game :)) and on top of all that, the movement felt responsive and fluid?? Amazing submission!
Thank you and thanks for the feedback! I will try to make mechanics more intuitive in my next game. The goal for me was to not tell users anything except the controls and to try to have the level design show how to use the mechanics, but it was not obvious. Maybe putting the first pillar more centrally would have worked better
Very cute game, I liked the basic movement a good bit. I wound up needing to go to the comments to figure out how to get over the rock wall with the mushroom though.
So cute! I love the visuals and especially the water. The sounds being homemade are a nice touch. I felt like the double jump usually made me go further than expected, and it would be nice to be able to jump straight up and down on the mushrooms/lilypads without auto forward momentum. Took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that the mushroom makes you jump higher each time. Overall very nicely done, I loved the 3d environment
Thank you so much! I’m so happy that you enjoyed it! Yes, the double jump launches you forwards. This is my first time hooking up 3D movement so i didn’t really know how to make consecutive bounces build up hotizontal momentum so that was my solution. I had implementation for a slide that could have replaced the forward momentum, but couldn’t fit it in the time i had. Good luck with your game!
