Gorgeous game, the centrifugal gameplay and how EVERYTHING's a marble drop is really fun and clever. Routered hardwood + well-lit pseudoliminal spaces = right up my alley.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D
It got a bit difficult for me partway through, but I think it’s a good game. I think using actual in-game controls to make selections on the title screen is a great idea. good job!
Thanks so much! :D
It's a fun game idea!
I don't understand how it behaves. In which way am I supposed to move my mouse to move the green one back and forth for instance? I turn it and it then seems to get stuck. I'm probably just doing something wrong instead of the game being broken.
I really enjoy unique control schemes but I'm stuck here and I don't really understand how to continue.
So you should be able to grab the edge of one of the wheels and rotate it to turn that axis (the cursor hand will turn sideways to indicate you're hovering it). There's a limit to how much you can rotate it left or right though, so that's probably what happened when it got "stuck" (it should still be able to turn the other way). Turning the blue one away from where the camera is now should be enough to move the marble to the other side of the disc.
This game is pretty neat! I loved how you are not in control of the ball. Such a fun puzzle game, great job!
Thanks so much! :D
This is a really unique game with a unique style! I really like the intro teaching you how to play the game through the play screen. However, one thing I would probably change is the camera controls as there is no way to easily move up and down. Regardless, this is a really fun entry to the jam and a heavily polished game considering it's your first 3D game!
Thanks so much! I actually swapped the plane for W/S mid-development because I was getting frustrated not being able to move in that one directly. Maybe I just needed to add more keys, haha.
Fun marble game like old puzzles, I wish the things could be rotated with keys instead of spinning because trying to fiddle w the mouse at different angles is more frustrating than fun, but overall fun idea
Thanks for playing! Yeah, the boxes with the green and blue wheels especially. If I were to make an actual game with that sort of thing, it would definitely use keys like W/S for one axis and A/D for the other.
Getting the right motions required to beat some levels is difficult, but it’s also super rewarding when you pull it off. I just wish the physics were a bit more predictable.
Thanks for playing! That's fair, it was hard to find the balance between "exactly how it should work" and "what's actually fun".
the game controls are pretty fun but the second level is kinda annoying
Yeah, that level didn't get much playtesting in the end. I wish I had put it as level 4 or something, but hey ho.
While I like the idea of a creative and experimental menu, I couldn't figure out how to start the game, so I'm not able to rate it :(
Aw, sorry to hear that! If you're interested in trying again: The angle is a bit funny at the start, but as long as you hold LMB on one side and drag it fast enough to the other, you should be able to get the marble moving fast enough to break the tape (there's a certain speed you have to hit to get the better camera angle). Getting it in the hole next to the play button sign will start the first level.
Disclaimer: I didn't consider trackpads when I made the controls, so if you're relying on one, I don't blame you at all!
The 3D models on these are awesome, really makes it feel like the irl version. With a bit more physics optimization, I think you've got something great on your hands
Thanks so much! Turns out 7 days of twiddling with the physics isn't enough, haha. I'm not against returning to this project in the future. :)
This is a really creative idea. The physics feel kinda unnatural though. The ball seems to come to a complete stop whenever the wheel changes direction. Breaking the red tape also feels a bit unpredictable, but maybe it was just a skill issue. A physics game about inertia like this is really cool, though.
Thanks so much! Yeah, the ball stopping so quickly was to help the player have more control. It seems to be a "love it or hate it" thing, haha. I agree about the tape, it didn't end up working quite as well as intended, but it was worth a shot.
I usually don't bother with games that have hard movement mechanics because I don't have the patience for them but somehow was drawn to this enough to keep playing for a while and while I didn't finish it I will say that the overall eperience was not nearly as frustrating as I initially thought it was gonna be.
The music is very soothing and the physics are working very well and the game looks pretty in general, also bonus points for the 3d!
So while this might not quite do it for me I can tell that there's a lot of fun to be had here for people who are more the target audience. Great job!
Thanks so much! I'm glad it could draw you in regardless. :)
Very cozy and enjoyable game even though I suck at it xD. I just experienced a tad bit much of wheel speeding up and tossing the ball out of bounds with a slight mouse movement.
Haha, thanks for trying it! I almost made that the intended way to solve levels. :P
I really like the intuitive camera controls and freedom, I was pretty bad at solving the levels. Satisfying to play though!
Thanks for trying it out! :D
This is such an interesting take on the theme! I found the camera controls a little difficult to contend with, and the game quickly got pretty tough, mostly because of how much progress you could lose by failing, but otherwise I really liked this. It looks great and the sound design is cozy. The interactions are pretty responsive too! The whole game just has a really nice vibe, so even though it was hard, it felt impossible to get mad at.
Haha, hey Tunote, glad you could try it! Yeah, the camera was definitely the hardest thing to get right, but I'm glad the cosy factor shines through strongly enough. Thanks for the kind words!
Nice game, very well applied physics, the sound of the ball against the wood is relaxing.
Thanks so much!
Very nice and polished game, that looks and sounds really good, the gameplay was a tad bit hard for me, but that might just be a skill issue haha.
I do wish I had put the maze after the crank level, but hindsight is 20/20. Thanks for the kind words!
Really neat idea, but I cannot figure out how to control it the way I want to. It's hard to get the camera right, and it's hard to get the base to be where I want while also moving the ball. Apologies if I missed other controls or things on your page, but it was just a little too hard for me to move the way I wanted.
No, I get it, it's a bit convoluted and I guess I really like making games with weird control schemes, haha. Thanks for trying it, I'm looking forward to getting your game in the metagame soon! Good luck getting past itch's comment restrictions going forwards. :P
A cool idea with a lovely cosy atmosphere! The levels strike a really nice balance between fun and challenging, nice work!
Thanks for the kind words! :D
Very fun concept, love the flowers randomly. I had fun with this game! I would love to see this expanded on more. Maybe the controls could be a little bit more snappy? It felt like i was pulling on ropes instead of using my hand to spin these things. The implementation of the idea is very well done and feels just challenging enough. very spin very win
An earlier build had a big focus on treating your cursor exactly like a hand (discs would stop spinning if your cursor drifted off them, and stop quickly if you held your cursor still). You probably would've liked that version better, but all of my playtesters hated it, haha. Glad you still had fun!
