In terms of mechanics and game play, especially in the first half, it wasn't anything too crazy. Like some other(s) have mentioned, the jam theme isn't overly "obvious" or present in the game either.
The little criticism (hardly constructive either) that I can offer aside . . .

The mini-comic in the beginning was a great treat, and the art style truly helps this submission stand out. The little animations, the subtle sound effects, the music backing the game, this is truly just an eye-catching game that was a pleasure to get to play. Great work to entire team, really a gem in this jam.
