CRAZY GOOD IDEA !!! I like the combat and the character design ,  but one thing i ended up resping over and over again unttil i had what i wanted , so it would be good to have a max spin counter or somthing , also i had a bug in the rout selection area my sceen turn grey and the areas where the levls are disappeared

Unless that cool and great game :)

Developer

thanks for the feedback, I didn't know about this bug, I'll fix it.

I really liked the idea, but I think it gets a bit repetitive over time. The visuals look cool, and you managed to make a roguelike prototype with different routes in such a short time. Congrats!

Amazing game! Cool concept that was executed well! Was jamming out to music the whole time. The level structure reminds me "Fights in Tight Spaces", one of my all time favorite games. Would love to see a full release!

Developer

I am very glad that I liked it. I will try to continue developing the game after the game jam.

Cool art style and mechanics. I love a good little roguelike, and this one was really great even though I have no luck and never spin any swords XD

Developer

I'm glad you liked it.

The art was super cool I also liked that there was a tutorial explaining what to do. One thing I think could have been cool was if you got the same action in a spin multiple times it could happen multiple times (this might have affected balancing though). I also think the levels being randomly generated is cool and adds replayablility.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial

fititng music, i finished the game, was prety fun, looks pretty polished for the things it does, it has potential to be expanded, art was awesome, good job!

thanks for the feedback

I like the combat mechanics in this game, the randomized attack spin and the wide range of upgrade options. the art is also good pixel art… However, I find the NPCs too easy to defeat. but overall, I enjoy playing this game… 😀💥

The game feels a bit lacking in some areas. In many places, the background is blank, and in terms of gameplay, there aren't enough interesting upgrades or even new things to add to the wheel. I finished the game, it was okay overall, but it had more potential.

Developer

I think you're right! Thanks for the feedback.

Feel like there should be more shops/non-fight areas but overall, very solid game and the battle mechanic is something I can see easily being expanded upon with maybe adding more actions/slots. 9/10.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree with you and maybe I'll finish this game after the jam.

The game is cool, if it ever got expanded i think it would be nice to have a longer and more variated path leading to the final boss and maybe new options in the various shops instead of only stats changes for the existing tools. A small bug i encontered is that sometimes the music would stop for a long time before restarting. Other than that the game is very nice :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! This is actually intentional and not a mistake. You might have missed it, but there should be ambient music playing when the main soundtrack isn't on.

Cool gameplay & bouncy protagonist. Branching reminds me a bit of sts2, good job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! I drew inspiration from the STS for this.

Wow, this game is so well made and polished. It was fun to play, felt like a good balance between my actions and randomness. Also all the audio and visuals are coherent and fit the game well.

Impressive job!

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it

Yay another person who made a similar game! Nice concept, I like the progression system you have but I do think it could be more random, like if you choose a track you can rarely change to a different one and you're forced to stay on one. I would love more info during battle like how much damage/shield I will do/have and the enemy because I'm hitting blind basically and it doesn't let me strategize what I should hold or not. Good idea tho, some Quality of Life changes would really elevate the experience I think!

Developer(+1)

I completely agree with you. Actually, I was so short on time that I couldn't finish everything I planned, so it turned out how it turned out.

Really cool game! The visuals are great, however  i do believe some more animation to the attacks would add more "weight" to the gameplay, i don't know if i got good rpg or not but it felt quite easy (i won on my first run) while normally these types of games require multiple tries to beat.
Really cool overall, deserves more attention for sure!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback, I completely agree with you. Initially, the game was too difficult, and now it's too easy. Lmao, I just didn't have time to properly balance it.

no worries, still a great game! You can even keep updating it once the jam is over!

looks pretty nice! I think a big part of the friction in this game is the randomness, the blue monster seems like an impossible fight even with upgrades, and resetting is inconvenient... I also got soft locked in the fight after getting the gnome exchange, the background was all blue and I couldn't do anything

Overall I think this is a nice idea, I can definitely feel the Slots and Daggers influence, but in my opinion, making encounters somewhat scripted is so much better than making them have a random probability of being impossible! I sadly couldn't reach the end but I would've loved to :(

Maybe this is a skill issue on my part but game jams do favor prioritizing easy and fun gameplay (you got the fun part tho! Spinning the slots has a nice feel to it)

Developer(+1)

thank you for such a detailed review. I've already updated the game file and made the enemies easier, so if you want, you can go through to the end. And also added a restart button when pressing R.

I think you're right that the player needs to be given more control because the game is pretty random right now. I will definitely refine this game in the future and try to fix it.

Submitted(+1)

definitely feels better! Gave you a couple more stars :)

obviously balancing is really hard especially for a game jam so don't worry too much about it, if we can reliably get to the end and have an accurate idea of what the game offers, it's a big positive already

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing again and for the extra stars! I really appreciate your understanding of the balancing issues in a game jam. You're absolutely right — ensuring that players can actually get to the end and enjoy the game as a whole is the most important thing. Thanks for the great feedback!
