Nice platform shooter, the movement felt really smooth!

Developer

Glad you liked the movement as I spent the most amount of time on that script,

Thanks for playing!

10/10 would spin the cat again. Jokes aside, it was a fun game and I loved the movement. It was fun to sprint around and platform every while blasting the enemies with the shotgun!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Loved your game too btw!

I love little features like being able to pet (or should I say spin) the cats haha. I think the enemies were a bit too strong with how fast they were shooting and their health, but I still think it was a nice idea with the different powerups that you won from slot machines!

I’m glad you enjoyed petting/spinning the cats haha

I totally agree the enemies are waaay too strong in this build :)

Thanks for playing!

Very cool abilities and the "world building". You ran as a "punk" and parkour around like a mad man. I laughed out loud at the cat interaction XDD It would be cool to achieve multiple abilities or be able to choose between them. Very nice background art.

Developer

Glad you liked the interaction! I actually have other animals included but I accidentally left them disabled for the Jam submission..
Right now, you can get 5 different but unfortunately you can't choose what you get :P
Thanks for Playing!

Nice game, keep up the good work!

The movement and abilities are pretty cool but before you get any abilities the enemies are really powerful and then after you get abilities I feel like there's no point in killing the enemies, you can just run past them. Cool entry though!

I love this game's sense of humor. The enemies are overpowered until my shotgun with infinite range kicks in. It would be great to have a final objective, like if you kill them all, you win or something. Love the abilities, overall a nice experience. (PS. Your settings menu was very relatable. xD)

Unfortunately I didn't have time to playtest it, so the difficulty is indeed up there lol
I'm glad you enjoyed my settings menu haha

I lol'd at the spinning cats and the ability that sent me into the stratosphere was funny to mess around with. I wasn't quite sure what my objective was and the enemies were quite tough to fight, but otherwise the foundation was all there and I like the art style!

The game looks really great!

Gameplay-wise though, I'm having mixed feelings. On one hand the movements and abilities are cool and a really good aspect of the game, but on the other I felt like I was roaming without really having a purpose? I mean, there are the enemies that you have to kill, but if you die the ones you killed are still dead, and killing them doesn't seem to do anything. Also, when you start the game without any ability I found that the enemies were way too overpowered, you have to get to melee range to hit them, but they shoot so many bullets that you usually have to die once and come back to kill a single enemy.

So overall the art is fire, the movement and abilities are good, but all that is taking place in a game devoid of purpose

Good work anyway!

The upgrade paths by spinning the wheel is a nice touch. I think the enemies have too much health. I think I also found a bug. I had the double jump, then I picked up the rocket. After dying, I picked up double jump again and lost the rocket ability but it said that I still had the rocket ability down the bottom. I'm guessing once you have double jump, that isn't an ability but a persistent skill. Overall, I liked the game.

i really liked the visuals, but i feel like the m1 attack does too little damage

Developer(+1)

In the Jam submission version it only does 1dmg to the enemies and they have 6HP. I'm planning to update the game and maybe lower their HP to a reasonable 4 or 5. Thanks for playing!

Okay! So this is a fun platformer with exploration focus and interactions are interesting! Honestly I think the biggest issue it has is the attack action because enemies will just obliterate you most of the time.. unless you have the godly spinarooni ability! So, you one shot them, and you.. spin to win! I liked the animals spinning too, that was a really silly touch! I couldn't finish it as I only managed to unlock like 4 spinaroonis, two rockets and a single dash.

To me the spinarooni ability itself is what steals the show and makes me give it the 5 stars on theme lol. Visuals are really well blended in! This is a skill by itself. Audio is almost just there but the "ARGH" grunt while being hit is fun.

In terms of seriousness is really good! The character looks like a tough guy in a tough setting for an action movie or so.. then.. the animals spin when interacted with and the spinarooni looks like it looks lol So it blends both parts of the serious coin!

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

After reading your feedback, I watched some of my friends play and noticed that the enemy strength is certainly over-tuned, as you mentioned. I will work on that, thanks for pointing it out! :)
I had actually added more spinning animals to spawn via the prize wheel, but the submission's code had a "0" where it should've been a "1", so the other animals didn't show up :(

The game only has 5 working abilities. Although the wheel has a 30% chance of going bust, I noticed that the majority of players go bust too often, so they don't get to see all the abilities. I will definitely change that as well.
Thanks for playing!
