fun mechanic! a bit janky, but i got the hang of it and had lots of fun with this :) love the little bits of dialogue and the game looks really nice!
This was such an interesting concept! The fact that you have to press a button to hold the sword up and can only do so for a certain amount of time adds a surprising amount to the baseline Getting Over It mechanic. Unfortunately, I did find the controls were really out of whack and unpredictable. I understand that part of the point with a game like this is to be unwieldy and strange to control, but it didn't feel like that so much as the sword just bugging out and not doing what it was supposed to do. It would routinely try to spin all the way around the long way towards my mouse instead of taking the shortest path, which would result in it digging into the ground and sending me flying, usually in the direction of some spikes. Other than that though, I really enjoyed this. The platforming challenges were interesting, especially with the addition of enemies, and the SFX and art was nice as well. Great job!
Nice game with the physics system, i kinda felt like a game journalist at some parts but very good.
Good job making getting over it in such a short time. A game with such unique physics I can imagine being hard to program, and you do a good enough job invisibly guiding the player.
Hey, wonderful. Great job in such a short time and under duress. I remember seeing screenshots you posted on discord and really wanted to play this, did not disappoint! Great job with graphics and sound. Like others I wish it could have been longer (that's a good thing!)
I am very angry. It has a big flaw. Its main flaw?: It's way too short. It's so fun and strategic, and it's not just a Getting Over It clone. You must think, you must act. You must not just run in. The game also looks good, but a tip for pixel art: It usually doesn't look good when the background pixels are smaller than the foreground pixels. But I didn't notice it at first because I was having so much fun. Then it stopped. And I was sad and wanted more.
Thank you so much for playing my game 😂
You’re right, sorry it’s so short. I’m Iranian, and because of the situation and the war I only managed to pull myself together in the last 48 hours to finish it. But honestly, this is the best comment I’ve gotten ❤️
I can't say much because I couldn't go really far in the game (skill issue from my side, but still I gotta admit the sword physics are atrocious, you should have played a bit more with your project's physics settings, try to increase samples amounts or something), but I can absolutely say from what I saw that the game looks really good, the animations are so smooth, the sprite themselves are great, the background... Well done!
Loved it, nice work! Had a fun time, although it's kinda tricky to manage haha but probably mostly a user skill issue. Nice audio including the level background ambience which adds a lot, and like the sense of depth and scope of the background. Really makes great use of the limited 2D visual style. Congrats!
Fun tricky puzzles. I wish it were longer, I like the gameplay. There were some areas where I found ways to cheese my way past the puzzles, making it that much more fun.
I was struggling a bit with the controls for a while, but once I got the hang of it, it was great! Good idea and great concept! Well done!
I’d love the idea! easy to play and animation on game title is good!
I cool idea, the enemies does make it a little more interesting. Would love to see more levels, but you made so much progress in 48 hours so great work
Very cool! its very fun and i really liked the concept, although the swords physics could be improved a bit, its very impressive that you did this in 48 hours!
The graphics are really good! But the collision is really weird. I wish you spent more time on the physics. Cool idea similar to getting over it
Original theme and good visuals. It sounded fun but it is a bit hard to control because the physics are not very consistent
Beautiful work. Awesome animation. I struggled to get very far but in 2 days it's quite impressive.
Like the aesthetic and idea, physics could use some work
Thank you so much for playing <3
Yeah, sadly I'm Iranian. I made the game in under 48 hours cuz the war, so it's a bit rough, lol.
Very fun! Would love to see this as a bigger game, but I understand it's meant to be small for the jam. I think with a little work on the sword collisions so it feels a bit more solid would make it even better. Great job!
Thank you so much! It really means a lot <3333
I'm Iranian, and I was feeling really depressed because of the war. I could only pull myself together during the last 48 hours to finish the game.
It's honestly very impressive to have done that in only 48 hours!
I hope you feel better! Sending prayers <3
