Congrats on finishing your game!
The combat is a little bit frustrating for my taste. Especially the fat that at some parts of each level I was not able to attack at all (in first levels it was usually on the first screen with first bunch of enemies). This led me to figuring out that simplest solution is to not fight at all and just run and dodge the enemies - and it worked just fine. Well - until the boss, where I died three times without being even able to hit him (I killed almost all of the guards though). This is when I gave up.
I kinda liked the narative aspect of the game. The music was also very good, I especially like that you put different tracks for each location.
I think that with some tuning of the combat it can be pretty fun game.
Thanks for playing the game! Agree that some polish is definitely needed in a few areas! If you had nearly beaten all of the guards you should definitely try beating the final boss again, as that is most of the fight. You can skip straight to him via level select. Have fun!
This ended up just being a walking sim for me with some forced dialogue in between. I'd suggest making the dialogue skippable, (I'm not a fan of forced cutscenes) and the combat worthwhile.
If the combat was fun, I'd definitely fight the enemies, but you can only attack in the direction you're moving. You don't even get the luxury of aiming at the mouse.
Also, what is the yellow bar? I still can't figure that out, and I played for a while.
This game is simply probably not for you, and that is ok! :-)
Indeed it is!
Take the feedback dude. It's not hard.
This obviously lacks a bit of polish, but I quite enjoyed the vibes, well done! The default godot icon as a sword made me chuckle. Not sure if you're aware, but you can just run through the levels before the final boss without fighting the enemies, which seems a lot easier. Better communicated hitboxes would have been nice. Sometimes I couldn't attack, not sure if that was because I was stunned after being hit, could also be communicated more nicely. The spider itself felt a little unthreatening. The reason why all enemies of the same type flash when one of them is hit is probably that you need to check "local to scene" on a resource somewhere, probably the sprite texture. Overall, though, you did a pretty good job, congrats!
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed our game!! I definitely intend to polish this up significantly after the jam period ends.
nice work here guys! love the story and lore that was put together, the midieval tales between levels with the rhyming schemes were an especially fun read! like other comments mentioned, i like the combat but the green goblin guys were really difficult to defeat, which made me run away from them most of the time. the art is really fun, love how the playable knight is a top and spins around as a walk animation, thats was a fun touch! overall, had fun going through all the levels! congrats on the submission!

Thanks for playing our game! I am really glad you enjoyed it!! I definitely agree the game needs some work to make it more balanced, will push an update sometime after the jam period ends!
Is mór an trua nach bhfuil aon chatagóir “Scéal” sa bhlag seo (ná “Teanga”, lol). Mar sin féin, cúig réalta as an gcruthaitheacht!
Go raibh maith agat! Is mór an trua é go deimhin! An bhfuil discord agat?
Very fun and full game! I like the artstyle, and the gameplay is engaging and clean feeling. The story was interesting as well. Good job!
Really happy you enjoyed our game! :) Can't wait to try out yours!

First of all extra points for the Irish language! I was so psyched, i cannot understand it but i love seeing it!
The lore was awesome, definitely my favorite part. It made me keep playing to see it all. Combat is so hard! I tried to kill them all at first but without getting health any kind of pickups there really wasn't any reason to fight them and it just became a sprint thru each level to see the next lore drop. Really love the vibes tho
Go raibh maith agat! (Thank you!). I am really happy you enjoyed the story, lore, & Irish translation!!!! Sorry about the imbalanced combat, I plan to edit the game after the jam period ends to add more of an incentive to actually fight the enemies.
That's awesome! yea one week is so hard to scope for :'(
This was really fun! I liked the level system, however I just wish there was some kind of incentive to actually fight the enemies instead of running past them, whether it's a locked door or rewards. I also think there needs to be some balancing done, as some of the enemies felt way too difficult. But for only a week, this is a really neat game!
Thanks man! I am really happy you enjoyed our game! I agree that the game definitely needs some balancing, as well as some incentives to actually fight the enemies present.
