Art? Excellent. Theme? Excellent. Implementation? Also excellent. I've been looking for a game inspired by "spinning the narrative" that actually makes use of that premise, and this nailed it! I loved that I could just collect a variety of words and then mash them up to make whatever I wanted, but there was still a score I could aim for if I wanted. This was super polished too.

Spin Doctor theme is good in my book :) congrats on the implementation.

Loved the art and all the little bits of polish. Super fun take on the theme. My only two notes are:

I wish there was a visible timer, or some sort of indication for when times about to run out

I wish there was an endpoint, I feel like I'd be more motivated to keep playing if I knew I had a limited number of headlines to try and make the highest score

Developer

there is a visible timer, it’s a little colored pie slice in the top left corner that slowly ticks down!

What an interesting take! Probably the most creative game I've encountered in this jam so far!

Very fun game!

Love the idea.

I wish I understood how scoring works.

sooooooooooo polished. i have never been more glad to have yall as server mods and event managers. to put in so much work throughout the jam, helping others AND making a game as sick as this?! (,: wow

Developer

We wouldn't have it any other way <3

This is so cool! I really enjoyed the idea of stitching together new sentences, but i felt like my screen got cluttered with so many words, I was having a hard time go through them all, especially with no full screen option (although maybe that's part of the challenge?). Also I couldn't tell if I pressed the send it button by mistake, but at one point while I was still going through and changing words, the paper got sent automatically, which annoyed me. The visuals and audio are spot on, I especially liked the interactable desk! Very solid entry, 10/10!

Developer

Oooo thanks for the feedback! Fullscreen is definitely something we should've thought about... oops!

was fun and funny! great art and really unique take on the theme !!

This is a really good game, and a nice take on the theme! It's a little hard to tell for what the categories are looking for in the headlines, but I am sure I would get it with more time playing it, but I liked the goofy making of the headlines, and the extra papers giving you more words to work with, and saving words from the previous ones. Awesome submission!

Great game, and amazing for only a week. Loved spinning the stories!

Submitted

This was a really cool concept and it feels very polished for only a week

my only feedback is that there should be a way to delete words so they don't end up covering the entire screen and the game seemed to be endless but I wish there was an end screen where you can see your final score and all the headlines you made

Submitted

Super creative! I really love the concept, and I can imagine your imagination running wild.

hmmm I think we need an explanation from flora

honestly? I'm not used to not having a clear objective so it took me a second but I found the fun in just making the most absurd headlines from the 234 cutouts I was hoarding all over the screen lol the art's amazing all around, the music's a banger, and the sound effects are pretty satisfying, a very solid game all around!

Really creative take on the theme with some good art to boot.

My main thought while playing this was "this would rock as a Jack box game" Being able to come up with stupid twists on news articals seems prime for that formula.

As a high score chaser though it's fine, but a little hard at points. I feel it's most natural coming up with ideas when your asked to make it funny, but sarcastic and serious are where I struggled to write things.

Also, I agree that the game needs someway to dispose of spare words. As of right now, they start to take up way to much space near the edge of your run.

Developer

Have you played job job? That is a jackbox game and we did take some inspiration from it! Getting a silly score we thought could be fun where you could have moments where "why did this random thing give me so many points?" and the game is definitely designed to generate fun and silly moments rather than actually setting a high score. Thanks for the feedback though, and we're glad you enjoyed it!!

I have alot to say but summed up

1) We need a way to clear away what we cut out if it's not suitable. I found too much clutter after abit
2) The time  out indicator or some hint like Juniper giving u the side eye that u are losing time or even an hour glass would be nice
3) While scoring components are broken down, it's not exactly transparent as to how things are determined and neither can u figure it out.

I loved the game. I couldn't stop laughing! Congrats to the Devs!!!! (:::::

What a wonderful creation! Art style is super nice, the whole desk atmosphere is just lovely!

I was trying so hard to make fun sentences that i did not even care about the points anymore :)

I never figured out how to get new words on the article. I could cut, but I tried clicking the glue and the other things, and it was just rolling around. I looked at the page for help, but I didn't see a list of controls. I just kept submitting 0-point articles with a bunch of words cut out all over my screen ^^;

Really like the concept, and I know other people figured it out, but I just couldn't figure out how. But glad I checked out all the hard work from the mods!

Developer

Oh no, I'm so sorry it was confusing for you :(  You have to place the cut words back onto the empty spots in the newspaper headline! But thank you for checking it out and I'm glad you like the concept <3

LOVED THIS. Felt like a great madlibs that progressively got crazier and crazier. Wish the side articles popped up earlier to cause more mayhem before the timer ran out. Felt like I had better options but super limited time when they arrived. OVERALL SO CUTE AND I WANT A FULL RELEASE
