super charming game with a nice story! only gripe i have is i wish clicking finished the textbox first rather than jumping to the next line of dialogue
Thanks for playing! And yeah, I've gotten that a lot 😭 it was such a quick fix, but no one who playtested it told me about it, so oops.
FAITH UP! Let the spins decide my fate the whole time, until it was time to show Elena my sick moves. Then I did a lil spin for her. Ended up in the hospital.
Thanks for playing!
Yeah 😭 I honestly thought no many people would get that ending, but I guess everyone's addicted to spinning so lol.
I don’t think I’ve played any game like this in the Jam. I love word based games. Idk if you intended it or not but this seems 100% playable on phone, I have gotten multiple endings. Girlfriend unlock is the best
Thanks for playing! And yeah, sort of, a friend of mine played it on mobile too so I guess it worked! Glad u had a great time :D
This was a fun little experience. I did 'Do a little spin' every time and in another play through got Triple T. I have no clue how the game mechanic works with the spin for faith thing and it feels really difficult to get into cuz of the gameplay loop being to just press between a few options. Story a decent bit compelling tho. Nice job! very unique
Fun game, the art was cool and the dialogues and options were funny. I just felt that the dialogue was slow sometimes, I read fast and if I clicked, it just skipped to the next one instead of showing the entire text.
But overall, very nice submissions! I ended up spinning so many times and got into the hospital.
Very funny game! Very creative and unique. I like the art a lot. I'm not usually a fan of these types of games, but this one I enjoyed a lot. I do think the text could be improved a little, maybe clicking once skips the animation so you can read it fully and then clicking again could move to the next bit of text? Apart from that, great work!
Reminds me of the one George Michael song... But actually, cool game, the vibes were cool and the art was funny! Very unique idea! Great work!
I love the music and vibes, they are flawless. And I’m so sorry, but my first feedback still has to be about the double-clicking. You can also provide an option for this, because two things are uncomfortable in dialogue:
Very unfortunately, it is very hard for me to follow the dialogue like this.
On visuals, I got to the “What do you want to bring with you?” dialogue and noticed the color contrast between text and button background is subtle, and doesn’t make it easy to read the buttons’ text. I’m also gonna add that from personal taste, the green tip about the randomization doesn’t look good among the game’s such well done, customized pretty UI. Nor do I think it has enough contrast. Further bits of the UI are also drafted - clearly not matching the template you designed - but I’m sure you know that and will update them.
I don’t know if you have realized, but the music has stopped. I had the page open in this bit as I wrote the comment and the loop ended after a couple of minutes. It hasn’t come back after I chose the mosquito swatter. It only came back when the following scene started.
I am so interested and curious to continue playing this game, but I think it really would need and benefit from this little update, especially the dialogue update before I can comfortably continue. Do you think this would be possible?
Thanks for your feedback!
I'll take into account the typing stuff because, yes, you're right it's usually done from left to right, so I should check that out!
UI-wise it was pretty rushed, like literally I tried to fix the UI in the last two days lol. So I will take into account the green tip thingy, and I've also been told that while having the X-Ray Glasses, the text looks all over the place, so lmk what you think about that was well. I'm thinking of maybe making it a popup instead (?
And yeah, I do know the music doesn't loop cuz I wasn't able to figure out how to enable it in time since I'm using the same node for all the audios. Again, thanks for the feedback :D
Funny game! You took the theme into a completely different direction, very creative and unique!
its a cool idea for a short little game jam game found it quite fun and nice well done!
oh my goodness i had the xray goggles and still managed to get every single outcome failed, this was great. one of the first more narrative games i've played and i appreciate consequences for prior actions being obvious for my nut brain. backgrounds would bring this to life even more with the different scenes!
Yoooooo tysm for playing my game :D and yeah xray glasses is a crazy pick of an item!!
Now since I made a bet, I gotta add all 3500 submissions to my game 😭 def worth it!
This was a really fun and silly visual novel. The character designs were great, the dialogue had a lot of personality, and the “Faith Up” voice lines made me laugh. I also liked how the choices actually had different outcomes, and the random “do a little spin” option was a funny way to work the theme into the story. The item unlocks were a cool touch too.
My main feedback is that some parts could be clearer. I wasn’t always sure how the percentages or choices were affecting the story, and it would help if clicking during text revealed the full line instead of skipping ahead. The volume also felt a bit loud in spots, and some UI elements could use polishing. Overall though, this was creative, funny, and had a ton of charm. Great work!
Watched TheWaffis play this, really liked the dialogue options and the wacky scenarios you get into.
thanks for playing omg, so many people playing it all of a sudden lol
Nice
What? I can actually equip my girlfriend?!
Such a fun game! I loved showing off my lil spin to everyone and snatching the last box of Trixy right in front of a little girl. What a productive day! :D
The unexpected branches and outcomes were a pleasant surprise. I'm sure there are still plenty of paths I haven't discovered yet. I ended up getting Ending 234, but I still haven't unlocked Ending 1. I'll definitely come back and give it another try sometime!
Faith up! ⏫
I found this game to be very funny. Sadly I haven't managed to get the ending number one, the hospital end was kinda cool, but the other two were very similar and a little boring.
I liked the idea of unlocking items and using them in the next run.
However the gambling aspect of your choices doing just something mostly random was annoying. I was going for a specific ending, but my luck would decide to do otherwise.
I also found there to be not enough background for a visual novel, but the characters are all unique and goofy which is very cool.
Overall it was a fun experience to observe all the characters, but there wasn't much actual gameplay other than picking an option and hoping it works :)
Very nice little storygame with choices that actually had consequences. A lot of games I've played also didnt give anything for choosing the random options, so I think it was very clever that it gave you a little 5% boost picking the random option, actually making it tempting. I also liked the added items! I don't think I've ever seen that in a story game! The only thing that I thought about as feedback would be that the spin theme maybe wasn't super clear in the game, even though having the option for your character to randomly spin at times was a funny addition haha.
Either way, good job on getting a playable story game with artifacts!
It's impressive how you manage to put so many events in the game within a week of development. Good job!
Snatching snacks from the little girl totally filled me with faith!
Lmao very serious stuff. Thanks for playing!! :D
"Faith Up" turned out really well! The only thing I noticed was that the volume was very loud, especially when I opened the options menu haha. Other than that, it was creative and a lot of fun. Great job!
