Loved the art style! It reminds me of Yoshi's Island.
Immaculate artstyle
I’m really inspired by the style of the game, it’s super cool! The visuals are what truly pulled me in. The targets which we destroy using the slingshot looked like the speakers from Teletubbies🔊
Yoshi Island 3D. Pretty neat art style
This game feels like what if Yume Nikki have Doom gameplay. Very cool game.
I really struggled to enjoy this game. One, it's weird that you start the game by facing a cliff and having the cloud tell you to follow it. I thought it wanted me to try jump off of it at first. Two, I decided to play this game without reading the itch page which was a huge mistake. I had no idea that you could interact with things. So I skipped past everything and was bored by how large and empty the levels were. Three, it was impossible to know where my slingshot would hit so creating the bridge was pure trial and error. Then I spent forever figuring how to make the sprout grow under the cloud. It was by accident I discovered you could interact with things. Everything in that area kept referring to a flashlight but I had no idea where to get one. That's when I decided to read the itch page and learned you start with the flashlight. From there I found the next two puzzles were more pure trial and error. And I beat the next two bosses by standing directly in front of them and shooting them until they died.
The art, music and writing are superb but the game design is a real let down. Also this game doesn't seem to implement the theme of the jam
I love our character's arms, I don't know what it is about them but they resonate with me
I think I got stuck, but only because I didn't want to hurt those cute looking animations. Looks great, and the world is super captivating. Thanks for submitting!
Thank you so much for playing the game on your livestream, it was incredibly fun and awesome to watch! 😊
I noticed during the stream that you couldn't pass through the dialogues - just a quick tip: you can actually skip or speed them up by pressing the Shift key! Also, thank you so much for the high praise on the visuals and animations, I'm really glad they caught your eye (even if it made you feel a bit guilty attacking the cute monsters, haha!). Thanks again for the support! 🎮✨🔥
Interesting idea
1 ... Art fits together
Bugs
2 ... texture flicker (is check if mipmap is enabled)
3 ... sometimes not intentional lines appear between hills
4 ... a bridge in distance disappear if I move camera up-down
Thank you so much for pointing these out! I'll definitely do my best to fix all of these rendering bugs in the upcoming versions. Appreciate the help!
Apart from the fact that I don't feel like it implements the theme at all, this game is AMAZING. You definitely need to make it into a full game.
Here are some improvements you could do:
- more boss attack patterns and maybe weaknesses to an element so that it deals more damage.
- better hints for recharging ammo and where the player needs to go
- interactable npcs
- upgrading each "gun" by progressing through the story or beating a boss would be really nice
Overall, a really pleasant experience!
Thank you so much for the feedback and all these suggestions! Your ideas are honestly really cool, and I will absolutely add them to the new version of the game. And yes, I am definitely planning to expand this project and make a full version out of it! Thanks for the motivation and for playing!
I saw one screenshot and had to play it immediately. Killer art style, great understanding of form, color, appeal, gradients, really really nice. The boss enemy was good, but I could've gone for more combat, personally. Nice work!
