How is this game a platformer, what spin does it bring to the genre?
You grapple, jump, and wallrun from platform to platform, as well to get from point a to point b while avoiding falling to your death (or running out of time and exploding)

What theme does this game use? also explain how you implemented the theme
Speedrun. You have 30 seconds before you explode where you have to get to the checkpoint. The game also tracks your times (and best times) and displays them at the end.

Did you use any AI or PREMADE assets in this game?
Used premade assets for the buildings and environments.

This game would benefit a lot from a tutorial.

I loved this one SOOOO MUCH

getting to the 1st checkpoint was super hard because I didn't know I could grapple the orbs, but once it clicked, it CLICKED. I was DETERMINED to finish the game, but sadly, I think there's a glitch :/

Basically, randomly, when you respawn at the 1st checkpoint, you can't stick to walls anymore. And the only way I found to patch it was to just reboot the game. And sadly it happened to me another time... mannnn this game is the most funnn I'm really sad

Too bad there is no tutorial or more explanation. But I really enjoyed playing this game and nice art. It would be even better with a deeper work on the level design (still very good for a game jam)

That is awesome (but hard idk), i think game needs tutorial because it's hard but is cool, gameplay and all is good

Very good speedrun game!! I really like the movement of the player, I think there should be like a tutorial for the player to get familar with the mechanics since I literally was about to rage quit without knowing the existence of grapple or how it work. The old graphics style fit quite well. I really love the fact that the timer is on that phone and the npcs look quite cute, love the little noise that they make when we delivered:3

The game conveys a great sense of speed. Out of the two mechanics: Wallrunning and Grappling, the Grappling Hook needs some more work...

First the good things about it, there is clear feedback when using it. However, it seems to not translate the momentum fully when letting go, which makes it really inconsistent. Even worse, it seems to ungrapple you after a set amount of time? I think it's way better to let the player be in full control when to let go.

Wallrunning seems to work as you'd expect.

Audio and Visuals are very charming.

Overall, needs some work, but it definitely has potential.

Probably one of the few games in this jam that really nailed the SPEEDrun aspect, I think. Just moving around was fun; the aesthetic was super cool. I DID have trouble with a couple of the grapple points but once you get a flow going- it feeels really good. Well done. Would def play a full release.

Thank you! I'm definitely working on some updates :3c

I loved the vibe of this game,  the art style and the 2000s jungle music really nail it. My only complaint is the controls: they seem a bit too slippery,  i don't feel like i have precise control over the player.

Developer

Thanks! I wanted to follow up on the feedback, did it feel slippery on the ground, in the air, during a grapple, or all of the above?

The concept is good Movement is so fast. The jump should be higher. Also I needed brakes, I lost the control many times haha

Developer(+1)

There should be air and ground brakes if you're not pressing in that direction or press in the opposite, but it might not be working properly. I'll look into it!
